Good Day to All!!

:yay: Hi RJ
:yay: Hi Betsy
:yay: Hi Annie
:yay: Hi Kate

About to venture out. It's cold here too. The say 2-6 inches of rain for the valley here and HURRICANE FORCE WINDS! How does one calculate that wind chill!?

Be safe and warm RJ - we don't see weather like this very often.

We were going to go to the snow this weekend. Scratch those plans. Won't be able to get there from here.

So family poll says no trip down or up the east coast. Ok that was a Neil poll.:rotfl: Haven't decided on transportation from MCO to the port. Family sorta wants to take the DCL buses. But don't they only run on disembark days? So we could not tell the bus "we are flying in 7/18 and need to get to Radisson". They will laugh right. The buses only leave MCO for the port, in our case, on Sunday morning. Yes?

Off to Kohls to return a few items. And mail a cowgirl bling belt I bought Ryan that is a bit too short. Need to get more wear out of that.

Check in on you all later!

So DH comes home from work today and says "you know you used my work laptop to go on the disboards so now I can watch what you do during the day"  :scared1: :scared: Guess I gotta be nice now. note to self do not say bad things about DH.

Annie I will pick up your beer for you.:thumbsup2 Let me know if you need me to do that.

There has only been praise for your DH since he said ya'll could go on the cruise! Right girls?! And thank you for the beer run offer! Once Betsy gets confirmation of the Sunday selling laws we'll know what we'll have to plan for!

And yes, I think the DCL buses probably only run on port days...but I could be wrong! (I would call & ask them just to make some stranger on the other end of the phone chuckle - might even make 'em snort!!:rotfl: ) I thought you were doing Harry the Limo guy?!

Betsy - can you even BUY fleece in the stores down there? I am wearing a turtle neck & fleece today! :goodvibes But Brrr Katie - it was 16.9 degrees on my porch thermometer this morning - winds were down to about 15 or 20 mph but that don't touch -7!! That is bone chilling! We will probably have a couple of those days later in Jan. or Feb. I know this cold weatherin FL HAS TO BE A FLUKE, right?! It is not doing this just 'cuz we're going down there in a couple weeks, right? I am planning that we will all wear winter coats with zip-out linings...mine needs to be washed tho...

Cowgirl bling belt? That sounds cute...:cutie:

RJ - let us know how the movie is (I liked the first one).

but I have no CLOTHES!! We don't have winter here...so aside from jeans and some long sleeve shirts, I am winterwearless!!
I don't even have boots...my close toed shoes are for looks..not warmth!!!:rotfl:

Well who needs winter wear at a balmy 37? :lmao: Actually, even living here, if its under 75 Im cold, so I do feel your pain. But Ill take the cold over snow any day!

Yep, Ronnie Jo, I'm prepared...not leaving the house, working with the heat on AND a space heater. Would you believe I used to go jogging in like 10 degrees. I'm too old for that now and stick to the treadmill.

Stay safe, Johnna. Stay warm, Betsy...you too, Annie! (everything ok with RJ and Cheri?) Think tropical, cruise in July thoughts. :beach:

OK I'm back.

I managed a return at Target - where I bought NOTHING!:woohoo: :lmao:

And then I went to Barnes & Noble. :lmao: Had a gift card dontcha know. And still spent more.:sad2: Oh well reading is fundamental you know.

Harry the Limo guy. Yes I think that is the current plan. I have January 9th marked on my calendar to look at and book flights. I know when we cruised in 2005 the only good flight got us into MCO later at night. So we shall see what we find.

Rain is starting here. Time to pop some popcornpopcorn:: and read until the baby wakes up.

Annie and Katie do stay safe and warm.

Hello?! WHO goes to Target and buys NOTHING?! I would at least leave there with cat litter, tissues, paper towels & Tide! There's a minimum requirement in my Target for just walking thru the doors!:rotfl:

I stopped on the way home & picked up supplies for the big Wild Card game with Seattle on Sat. I kinda wanted to make those itty bitty little hotdogs but would u believe I don't have the recipe!? Those always look so cute in the crockpot! Anybody able to tell me step by step how to do those? Instead I bought a variety of chips, some olives from the olive bar, cheese cubes and little hard rolls, various lunchmeats & cheeses ETC. to make a sandwich platter (boring). (Oh, but plus I'm making that brie & spinich dip which is orgasmic....) Oh. And I got 2 cases of beer. That should hold DH and his football crew, right? Maybe?:confused3

OK, sigh. Off to get a cocktail and reheat some leftovers for dinner. It's been an exhausting week - DH worked almost 12 hours on New Years day and then I had to get him up at 3:30 to go in for Wed. morning and 4:30 this morning....I'm gettin' too old for this crap!

Annie me thinks your new name should be "party queen" or "she who makes hors de ouvres" :lmao:

I don't think I've ever been to as many get-togethers as you! :worship:

National Treasure 2: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Totally sets ya up for a 3rd part as well :woohoo:

...and the movie comes with it's very own Disney cartoon!

OK, so how does one caucus? What do you do when you caucus?:confused3

working with the heat on AND a space heater.

:woohoo: Hey Katie - I got a brand NEW heater for my computer room!:cool1: (Target had them 2 for $30 the other day!) My old one ws making this shrill whine noise when I started it up :scared: & I had to keep thumping on it & shaking it to get it to stop!

Whining heaters sound bad.

OK so I was reading my Passporter News and lo and behold I spot this:

Um....are they trying to fill up our boat!?:scared1: How Dare They! This is Mouse Ear Vacations I think. Tell them to stop it!

Annie - I talked to my friend who lives at the port..12 on Sunday...

I am off to have some fun at the hospital with a surgeon...be back tomorrow!

Shoot!... On the first point DH will not be happy he cant get his Sam Adams.

And WHAT???...on the second point. :scared1: Hope everything is ok, Betsy!

OK, FIRST - SURGEON? what surgeon?! Glad it sounds quick buuutttttt uhhhh.....I'm clueless here! Hope it's routine / not serious! Keep us posted and good luck!!

NEXT - thanks for the info about the liquor laws down there! That's what I was afraid of! TRM - YOU MAY BE ON DUTY BABY!!!:goodvibes (Unless there's a beer store within walking distance to the port!!):rotfl:

Betsy - um...surgeon!?? Hope all is OK -

Annie - Let me know. I can get that beer.

CamColt - I would be happy to get some Sam Adams for your DH also.

OK - sustained 50 MPH winds here so I am signing of the Dell for now. Will go to DH laptop a little later. But shutting down this system in case of power surges.

RJ - Be safe if this wind and rain are happening in Kingsburg. BTW Where is Beano!?

We have rain but no high winds...yet:confused3

Beano be heep beeg busy! We were even so busy that we had to come home from Chateau de Knebel early.

Awww, thanks Johnna. I hate to have you lug all that around...especially with the baby and all her gear. We can talk later, but really if its too much of a hassle dont worry. I think DH did find 1 or 2 bars on the ship that serve his Sammys on the last cruise. I know it was hard to come by though.

Stay safe you CA peeps! check in when you can. :grouphug:

Any word on Betsy?

Yes - you CA peeps stay inside & hunker down! Hope you got some extra batteries for the flashlights with those winds!

RJ - not sure if business being that good for ya'll is a good thing in the grand scheme of things or not! I guess one persons loss is another persons gain 'eh? Tell Beano we miss hearing from him! (And from Ophie & TZM & Sean & Sue Ellen....) So, was that college Bob's first choice or just one of many?!

CamColt - I posted a thread over on the DVC Planning board to see if someone can tell me if there's a beer / wine store nearby that might possibly deliver! (Just a thought - maybe like a Waiter on the Way kind of thing or something!):confused3

Supposed to warm up to almost 60 by early next week! :woohoo: :dance3:

Good idea, Annie! I was also thinking...do the WDW Resort gift shops sell stuff like Kaluah? Id like to get a small bottle to bring and I dont want to pack that in my checked luggage. :scared1:

Gosh, we do sound like a bunch of lushes, dont we? :rotfl:

:lmao: You mean we're not lushes? Oops! But this is the important stuff that we have to have planned out!!!

Yes - I believe there's probably a store onsite at each property that sells some amount of beer & wine etc. Last summer when we were at OKW the store onsite had a small selection of "hard stuff" behind the counter. Now, I had packed my "travel size" bottle of the Captain (I guess it's a pint - you know - the size the homeless winos always have in the paper bag as they sit overtop of the sidewalk grates in the winter!?) Anyhow, now that I have the bottle I just refill it "to go"!:rotfl: ) I packed it in bubble wrap, put it into a ziplock bag and THEN put it inside a small plastic shoebox size box! The plastic box was maybe a tad bit overkill...:goodvibes ANYWAY, now I'm thinking about just using an empty 16 oz or so size water bottle. It shouldn't leak or break but I could still put it in a zip lock & then skip the bubble wrap & plastic box as I am trying to cut back on the size of my luggage next summer!:rotfl2: I think with the little screwtop bottles of wine added that my little plastic box weighed almost 10 lbs!:rotfl2: Next summer I think I will also just take a 3 liter box of wine. Again, no breakage factor!

Anyway, I priced my Captain at OKW & it was about $2 something, almost $3 more than what I think the same size bottle runs here in the liquor store ($11 something I think it was). I think I paid $8 something for it originally at home. I'm sure they probably have Kahlua too...just for a premium! Either way, taking a bottle onboard will help save the bar bill!!!!! And my DH will easily drink a case of beer in 3-4 days tho so I would really like to save on his bar tab! Last time, he bought the refillable glass stein & carried it all over the ship. I don't think he walked past a bartender when he didn't get it refilled!!

So, was that college Bob's first choice or just one of many?!

Bob sent in 8 applications...we've heard back from 3 so far. All have said YES!

Although Embry-Riddle is the only 1 so far that he really wants to attend. Still waiting on the UC's to send answers :rolleyes1

Yes, it's always hard for us to say that business has been good...but, it is a fact of life and Beano is excellent at what he does.

Still no wind to speak of here...gray and yucky outside. Hopefully we won't get the really nasty stuff. Time will tell I guess.

Still sitting here waiting on DirectTv technician guy....don't ya just love when they tell you that they'll arrive between noon-4pm. So....here I sit.

Good for Bob's # 1 choice coming thru for him!

OMG! What a coincidence! You must have the SAME Directv tech. that WE have!:rotfl2: In Sept. they were to come out & swap out our dish for a new HD one or something and DH came home to wait for this Noon - 4 crap....it was literally getting dark when they finally showed up! And they came WITHOUT A DISH! Like their ticket wasn't complete or something. They didn't know why they were sent out!:headache: DH got the appt. rescheduled for a Sat. The next guy shows up and says he "don't gotta remove the OLD dish" - that's not on his ticket. I'm like WE DON'T WANT TO COLLECT YOUR DISHES ON OUR ROOF MISTER! I had a royal hissy fit with him! He was just a contractor but I think I scared him pretty good so he took down the old dish but left the freaking pipe / stand/ bracket thing up there!:headache: (If you threaten to remove the ladder while they're still on the roof they get pretty nervous about that!:lmao: ) But he said they don't have an attachment gismo thingy to just remove the old one & re-use the orig. holder bracket thing! Now. I ask you. HOW STOOPID IS THAT? So over the years we could have HOW MANY of these un-usable pipe things sitting up there!:rotfl: OMG. What a show! And yes, it's still there 4 months later! MEANWHILE, DH says this is still the wrong dish! We still aren't getting something right & it's still the wrong model or something.:rolleyes1
