RJ - how's Beano doing? Is he still recovering?

TRM - tried to warn u that the fresh garland would be a mess! But glad to know that u wouldn't let me fall overboard! I have some of the fake stuff I have used on our railing in the past...trying to decide if I feel like messing w/ it or not...

Sat. is going to be our "tree day". OH! DS's Den Mom told me about some guy the other nite at scouts that has BIG trees that he'll cut FOR you for only $30! He's way out in the boonies tho (probably why only $30) but worth the drive IMO! So we're going to head over that way before we go anywhere else! She said he just has a little sign out front by the road that says TREES! She said he's also going to sell some for a Boy Scout troop this weekend too....so might just stop there....we'll see....

So the Redskins have a home game tonite (yes, on a THURSDAY) at like 8:00 and it is freezing out there (20's)!! I thought DH was going to blow it off but then a couple of his buddies wanted to go! So I guess he'll come dragging in at some awful hour tonite & wake me up Then I will have the LOVELY task of trying to wake him up for work tomorrow morning!

Don't know when that is gonna happen here. Got the garland up. Only made 2 extra trips to Michaels to pick something else to go with my poinsettias that I put in the hide the ribbons. I tell ya....Annie and I could be cousins!

Gotta do "snack mom" duties at Brownies tonight. Then hosting bunco for next door neighbor who broke her arm. Nothin' like piling it on yourself.
OK have officially stopped looking at the WB repo thread. Not gonna torture myself anymore. Maybe a repo in 2012 on the new ship! Thats what I am gonna hope for.

I am so glad you talked Neil into going with us so I can meet you! I DO have cousins in CA somewhere....ummmm....Bakersfield I think they were last I heard. You don't have a brother named Eddie do you? I remember them coming "home" once when we were teenagers & my cousin Eddie was HOT and he was from California so that made him EXTRA hot (hey - he was a 2nd cousin) and my other Uncle (my Grandma's baby brother I think he was) had a 1970 something Corvette & he let Eddie drive it & we went for a ride - boy did I think that was COOL!! Oh yeah. Hot cousin. Corvette....

I am also planning on going again in 2012! Stashing money every week!

The DisGs are in the same long hallway as you on the other end of the ship. We are in 7122 for both cruises. We can get a lot of exercise running down to your door to knock in the middle of the night.

Happy Friday everyone! Who else besides Betsy and I are braving going out to shop this weekend?

DS has to have a black suit jacket for his Christmas concert Monday night. The one I ordered fit in the shoulders and the length was good but the arms must have been made for munchkins or sumthin!!! They were like a foot too short Oh yeah, and he's prolly outgrown his dress shoes and shirt too.

How many days left til Christmas?

Hi ya'll. I'm out there with ya RJ! And I am very frustrated over this WHOLE shopping thing already! I took 1/2 day off - met a couple old friends for lunch (to deliver their scout popcorn) and then tried to do a little shopping. Did not accomplish MUCH let me tell you. I went down to Rockville to the hearth, pool & patio store where we bought our pool table - got DH a new cue. Not an expensive one, just one that will be different from the ones in our set - so he'll have his own + a little case for it. It's pretty I guess. I forgot to look at the weight on the one I know he likes to use and the store didn't have any of our sets in the store so they had to call one of their other locations & find out the weight on it blah, blah so it took awhile. I hope I made the right choice on that. But that was all I actually purchased. I really need to get my BIL so I can get his mailed! Any ideas for him?! (He's career Army - stationed at Ft. Leavenworth now....twice divorced....has a girlfriend we've never met....travels a lot for his job....)

Just ran dumb errands & did mostly window shopping all afternoon. It was sorta sleeting out so it was a bit "trafficy". Had to go to the vet to buy cat food. I hate that. Priced Ipods for DH at Best Buy and the Costco that I hate (we are behind the times I guess - no Ipods in our house yet). Sigh. I don't know if I want to get him one or not so I didn't. They're about $10 cheaper at Costco I guess than most stores but I refused to get in the line there (best guess was it was a 45 min. line)! No thanks! I will drive 16 miles north to the other Costco to stand in THEIR line if I decide on that! Costco didn't have the Shuffle one. Since I don't know if / how much it would get used I was thinking about starting him with that one. But then I think "Oh just go for the Nano 4G"...but then THAT pretty much blows my meager little budget if I do that on top of a couple other things. The Shuffle one is really the only one I feel like spending money on! Opinions? Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

I had that same "4 GB or not" discussion with someone at the Disney outlet store today. Popular question.

I am not a technophile so it's best to talk to Beano. DH has the shuffle - my mom won it in a raffle and sent it up. I have the Disney Mix Stick. And that suits my needs just fine. But if someone is really into music and taking it with them whereever they may go I can see why someone might want the 4 GB.

Got DH the coolest pirate hat for pirate night. IT TALKS! He says he will wear it while he plays POTC on VMK. Got DD the little pirate girl outfit at the outlet too. $22 Gotta love that. There is a pirate night on the 4 day cruise right!? If not, then my bargain shopping ain't so great.

I will be shopping this weekend too. I should go to the ranch and shop with RJ!! But DD is walking in Christmas Parade here tomorrow. I have to get one 4 1/2 month old who like to sit up already a new stroller.

Target has them on sale for $77..I think that is good..

Hummmm....
OK, but so sounds like those of you who have the Shuffles are OK with them? I mean they're OK as starters or whatever?! DH is an I.T. guy - so techy stuff is up his alley (it's the home improvement stuff we have issues with)!! Anyway, neither of us belong to a gym or work out or run or anything...otherwise I'm sure we'd have had one by now! He listens to more music than I do (he drives a lot between locations and he likes Howard Stern so I got him the Sirrius Radio a couple years ago for Xmas). Anyway, he likes to listen to something when he's mowing the yard etc. but so that's why I thought maybe the Shuffle would be sufficient...just wasn't sure if the Nano is worth another $75 or so at this point!? He can't watch a video while he's mowing, right?! When we finished the basement we (he) also wired outside speakers on the patio - so if I'm outside gardening or whatever I just turn those on...works for me anyway! I might have $10 off in "Reward Zone" rewards to use at Best Buy before Xmas - so I could go there.... (Do the Shuffles need many accessories? Batteries? Chargers? How does THAT work?)

And Annie - DH uses his shuffle to mow the yard. And ignore me. So I am guessing it should be sufficient to play music. It will definitely hold plenty of music for mowing. Unless you have a really large yard!

I was reading another thread where people suggest just staying on the ship. Pirate museum, historical tour, Atlantis - book a room or not to book a room - the Aquaadventure water park sounds awesome but with a 9 month old? I have a feeling DH will want to go over and check out the poker room but me and the girls not so much. The forts sound cool but the girls won't care. Ryan wants to snorkel. People have gone over the the Hilton and used the beach there but the hotel reviews are not too complimentary.

So? What's everyone gonna do in Nassau?

Off to decide hotel info. Hyatt at the airport? Hilton at the beach? Close to the port? hhmmm going to have a busy day. Guess I am a kook too. I can't wait to meet ya Annie!

Hey Cousin! Deciding between a hotel at the airport or at the port - does this mean you're not doing WDW too?! IF we didn't decide to go to WDW pre-cruise we probably would've booked at the Radisson at the port 'cuz they have the Select Comfort Sleep Number beds and I LOVE my sleep number bed!

Nassau - went there once - first vacation DH & I ever took together before we were married we went to the Bahamas...don't remember a whole lot about it tho.... Some of our group of friends went on the Wonder last January (3 families) & they did the Atlantis thing - they probably booked thru DCL...said they really enjoyed it...so I figure we will do that on at least one of our stops there! I am also trying to decide about whether to book it thru DCL or book a room at the Comfort Suites or whatever. They say it's cheaper to book a hotel room. I am not sure if you book thru DCL if you get FULL ACCESSS to the slides & stuff tho....I need to do more research - but last summer, out of curiosity I checked the Comfort Suites hotel website & they had a minimum 2 nights requirement in the summer season! So I don't have those details planned out yet...but I can tell you if there are waterslides DS will want to go! I just want a cocktail, a lounge chair & a place to dip into the pool somewhere!

MEANWHILE - just got back from getting our tree! OMG! Went up the road to where the Boy Scouts were selling them in the bank parking lot - this man cut 50 trees this morning to donate for them - and they were all GORGEOUS! And HUGE! DS of course picked out one of their 3 biggest ones - it HAS TO BE 11 or 12' tall!! It's the biggest tree we've ever had!! ALL TREES WERE $30!!!! (We gave them $40 'cuz it was such a steal and it IS the scouts!) It took 4 guys to put it on the roof! And it's STILL ON THE ROOF 'cuz it's too big for me to help DH get down and bring in!! We will need more lights too - but we're stuck waiting for the neighbor to come home to help get it down & bring it inside!! LOL..... Will post pics later when it's done!! The decorating is going to be a fun time!!

What no research!? If you book through Disney for the full access to the water slides it will cost you more than a room at either the comfort suites or Atlantis directly. About $410 for the excursion for 2 adults and 1 child.

I think I am going to attempt to use DH Hilton points to book an oceanfront suite and either the Cocoa Beach Hilton or Doubletree. We will fly to FL on Friday night 7/18 and stay a day at the beach. Limo from the airport - last time we used Florida Classic Limos - nice old guy someone recommended. Will try him again or maybe get a Suburban type limo. No stretch needed as there are only 4.

It seems everyone else will be coming in from WDW so sharing the hummer super stretch is out I guess. We will just see all y'all at the port!

Yes RJ - we will arrive earlier than last time! I think. Shuttle really slowed us down last time.

Then cruise and maybe stay on the coast and check out NASA. Fly home Thursday or Friday.

hhmm..I have some more planning to do.

Better get a move on this morning been playing on DHs laptop all morning since Linden decided she was still tired and went back to bed right after breakfast.

DD is watching Meet the Robinsons and DH should just about be at the ranch to mark and brand those calves. Lucky guy.

Since Betsy didn't answer about the sawgrass time, I will tell you. More than likely she is talking about Sawgrass Mills Mall, an all day trip type mall. Sometimes I meet her there and it is a full day if you go in all the stores.
I enjoy my shuffle. I have downloaded several of my CD's and listen to them while I walk on the treadmill at the gym.
