Bets- girls and cells phones! (need a "slap self on head smiley") <insert new smiley here>

We were all joking at dinner last night: "who going to Kohl's Super Sale tomorrow? Doors open at 4:00am! Wal Mart opens at 5:00!" Um, that would be not me. So, kudos to you for braving Black Friday. From here on out I do not set foot in a store on Fri, Sat or Sun until February.

psst, it's coming closer. Only 4 more days!

Hey there....too busy yesterday to pop in...WAY too much commotion... We had forgotten to turn back the clock in the spare room so my parents got up an hour early:rotfl2: But it was a good thing as it turned out that my "fresh" turkey was frozen!! So Mom & I worked on a quick thaw in the kitchen sink for almost 2 hours! Thought I was gonna need a blow torch!:rotfl: Anyway, like I said, good thing she got up early & started snooping at my turkey! I had bought him Sun. & just stuck him in the frig. - I didn't know he was frozen! He was in the refrigerator section, not the freezer aisle:confused3 But he turned out just fine and dinner was a great success!!

Today, my Mom decided that we could remove the covers on the sofa cushions on our sofa in the family room & wash them! I suppose the couch is about 11 or 12 years old & it was looking a bit nasty. Love it when Mom & Dad come to visit - Mom always gets into some sort of a cleaning project (I think I need her to come & stay for about a week this spring!):goodvibes I Spray & Washed 'em pretty good & we did a pre-soak & some Oxyclean & they turned out pretty darned good - well, at least they're clean. Put 'em back on while they were still just a bit damp so they'd stretch back on. Will postpone the reupholstery (or new sofa purchase) for awhile longer anyway! It's an Ethan Allen sofa so the frame & the foam inside the cushions is still in great shape - the cushions were just dirty and showing their age a bit. And the cats have done some claw damage playing on it so my rotation options are limited. I'm sure Ethan Allen could reupholster the cushions - for a dear price:eek: Will not be happening this year anyway!

Did not go Black Friday shopping today. Well, not really. I went to Home Depot for some furnace filters & Pep Boys with Dad for some junk. Didn't even look at Kohl's sale ad until like 2:00. So totally missed the Early Bird sale on the Roomba Robot! I really think I need one of those little robot vacuum cleaners tho!:lmao: I'm sure it could double as a great cat toy too!

Annie - I luuuuuvvvvvv Ethan Allen. It's just about the only kid-sturdy stuff we have. You'd have to sell your son to have them change your couches though.

Helllloooooo out there! YooooHooooo!? Anybody home today?!:confused3

do I have my dates wrong? won't it be here in 3 days? if today is the 24th...

DUH RJ!!!

sometimes I am a bit slow!! :lmao:

We went to see Enchanted today! Met up with Johnna and baby Linden!! I thought I'd have a picture to prove it, but um.....stoopid RJ didn't seem to take the picture at all. (either that or my phone ate it) :)

Yikes Annie! Sounds like you made a nice save with that turkey! ;)

I'm glad Enchanted was good. We will have to see that one. And Ronnie Jo, we luv ya anyway, picture or not.

So we have changes to look forward to???:goodvibes

I spent today doing some shopping and then we went to our city's Festival On the Common. We bailed before the lights went on and went out to dinner. Trust me...this aint no Osborne Lights.

I also spent today rearranging my itinerary for my upcoming trip. Somehow I woke up in the middle of the night last night realizing I had planned for lunch/dinner at ESPN around 3:00....ON A SUNDAY! Oh yeah, thats funny during football season. Needless to say I wasnt paying attention to the day of the week when I made the plan. :rolleyes1 So, I did some ADR rearranging and I think Im ok now. Phew!

Katie is going to WDW soon! :woohoo: Guess I'm gonna have to figure out when our 105 day mark is... oh, oh, have to do math.

Will put Enchanted on movie list. Right behind Ocean's 13. (Still haven't gotten to slobber over those mens yet popcorn:: )

oh, and Katie... no changes... justs something... something coming...:upsidedow

who wants to be the next vict- I mean, star on DIS-functional Wonder Peeps R Us?

Hey ya'll....morning. Mom & Dad went home yesterday & then I just lazily sat around all afternoon doing a little laundry and toodled my way thru all of our pictures trying to figure out what to use for our Xmas card. Last year I already HAD them by now so I am BEHIND!:goodvibes I had them on the computer but not uploaded to Shutterfly yet. So I uploaded a bunch of stuff from this folder & that folder into one but still have almost all of our WDW ones left to upload since I took like 500!:rotfl2: Still have a few hours worth of stuff to do with the organizing & uploading thing but at least I finally settled on what to use for the cards & got those ordered. That was my goal. Also ordered prints of all of our Hidden Mickey's to put in a little album for DS.:goodvibes

It was really cold here the past 2 days so we did not work on our outside decorations yet. It was only 25 yesterday morning when I got up! :cold: It's supposed to be a bit warmer today (in the lower 50's) so we need to work on them before the Redskins game comes on at 1:00!! Not sure if we'll turn them on until next weekend tho. I dunno. T-giving was sorta early this year. Dec. 1 sounds like a good date maybe. We just need to get 'em out while it's not freezing.

DH has something else wrong with his car again.:headache: His check engine light came on but was blinking this time. Book says when it's blinking it means something is wrong with his catalytic (sp?) converter. Crap! It sounds like a helicopter taking off now! Nice timing 'eh. (What do you want for Xmas this year honey? Oh, I don't know. I think I'd like some car repairs.) :sad2:

Just FYI - the Disneyshopping.go site where TRM found the twinkling Mickey has a sale with a promotional code thru today...10% off $50 or more... 20% off $75 or more and 30% off $100 or more! (We ordered the Mickey & Friends sleigh since it was in the 30% off category!):woohoo:

Here's a list of the various Disney references hidden throughout Enchanted. Some are easier to spot than others.

Enjoy!

* Troll is wearing remnants of past Animated Disney Princess dresses as a loincloth: Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. He also wears Ariel’s shells as earrings.
* In Giselle's tree house you can see the bell jar with the rose in it, from Beauty and the Beast, clearly on the right as the camera pushes towards Giselle and Pip sitting on window seat.
* The troll yells the Goofy scream when he is flung from the tree into the next kingdom.
* Times Square is filled with many references to Disney or the individuals in the film. None of this was done on purpose, it just was there on the day they shot.
- Tarzan, the Broadway Musical posters - Disney film and directed by Kevin Lima.
- Wicked poster - Stephen Schwartz is the composer/lyricist, Idina Menzel was the original Elphaba.
* The last name of the divorcing couple is Banks, based on the troubled parents in Mary Poppins.
* The name of Robert's law firm is an homage to the songwriters of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves: Frank Churchill, Leigh Harline and Paul J. Smith.
* Robert's assistant Sam is named after Philip's trusted stead Samson in Sleeping Beauty.
* Sam is played by Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid.
* The woman on the bus with the bag of birdseed is an homage to the bird woman in Mary Poppins. She appears later feeding the pigeons in Central Park.
* The bus driver's hair is Mickey shaped.
* Sam sits across from a fish tank, which is a reference to The Little Mermaid.
* Poison apples are a direct reference from Snow White.
* "Part of Your World" muzak plays over the office speakers as Giselle watches the fish.
* In the old folks section of the Central Park dance, the yellow jacketed gentleman danced as a chimney sweep in the original film version of Mary Poppins.
* Rapunzel is being performed in the Central Parl bandshell - an homage to the upcoming Disney film.
* Square trees in the Rapunzel performance look like the Eyvind Earle designs for the Sleeping Beauty trees.
* In the hotel Edward flips the remote on the TV. “Magic Mirror” is a reference to the mirror the Queen in Snow White talks to.
* The soap opera star is Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle in Beauty and the Beast. Her name is Angela after Angela Lansbury, Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast.
* The male soap opera star is named Jerry after Jerry Orbach, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast.
* Angela's offscreen affair is with Ogden after David Ogden Stiers, Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast.
* The music that underscores the soap opera is the song Beauty and the Beast.
* The soap opera set is built to look like the bandaging scene from Beauty and the Beast. It's even snowing.
* The Bella Notte Restaurant is named after the song in Lady and the Tramp. There is a sign in the window at the far end of the restaurant.
* When Giselle is telling Morgan the story of Little Red Ridinghood there is a Belle doll wearing sunglasses, which can be seen in the chair at the start of the scene.
* When Edward is searching the apartment complex for Giselle, the pregnant mom is Judy Kuhn, the singing voice of Pocahontas.
* The Old Hag appears at the ball and convinces Giselle to bite into the last of the poison apples - Snow White.
* The shot when Giselle bits the apple replicates the apple falling from Snow White's hand.
* At the ball Giselle is laid on a bier - Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.
* At the ball a kiss will wake Giselle from her sleep - Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.
* At the ball the clock chimes 12 - Cinderella.
* At the ball Giselle loses her glass slipper - Cinderella.
* The "glass slipper" fits Nancy perfectly as in Cinderella.
