do any Dis Dads have special things they do with thier kids only at WDW? My boys and I have a guys only dinner/sports night at ESPN, and my DD and I take one night for a special dinner and shopping. It makes them all enjoy just having a night with just dad, and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I've taken my DS4 3 times to Disney without Mom for some "Boys Only" time. Obviously the whole trip is "Boys time", but we included Hoopdedoo Review, some character bf's and Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party where he was Peter Pan (we had a great time).

Since Mom is coming on our trip next month, I'm thinking maybe we'll do Boys time by taking out a watersprite onto the lake and by getting our haircut complete with pixie dust on Main Street.

My new DD is too young for Dad time, but eventually I'm thinking Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Its nice to see the DIS Dads steping up with the Dad Time! :thumbsup2

Me and DD hit the Parks hard everyday then MOM comes and meets us later or we go back and head to a waterpark. Then late at night we are still going ad DM heads back so we get a lot of Father/Daughter Time at WDW.

We even did the Behinds the Seeds Tour this past trip. We also normally do the Mouseracer boats at different locations at least once a trip.

My kids are both grown, but last Jan we went to WDW to celebrate my DW 50th and my oldest DD 30th. My best memory of being there was when we were in Animal Kingdom and my oldest DD and I got separated from the rest of our group. So as any good scout knows you should stay in one spot when you are lost. So we chose to stay at Dawa Bar, and as we were lost we got a couple of their Lost on the Safari drinks and watched the dancers. Just being with her and having a couple of drinks was perfect. We still laugh about being Lost on the Safari.:rotfl:

Where do I sign up? I can claim at least 22 (1, 2, 4, 8, 10, 11, 12, 19, 27, 39, 41, 47, 48, 52, 54, 61, 75, 79, 80, 84, 102, 106). Does it also count extra that I've run into the manager of our local Disney Store and she recognized me?

:welcome: to our newest dad.....you may be able to get the OP to add that one to the list...not sure.

So my DW and I just got back from a trip to our local Themepark, and all the kiddie rides had the same sign. "No infants"

My question is this. Have any DDs out there traveled with a 1 year old to WDW. If so what rides were the most practical to take the baby on. I want to take her on . . .

Tower of Terror, Mission Space, and Space Mountain. Of course those rides will have to wait a few years. I expect that I should be able to take her on Haunted Mansion, Winne the Pooh, Dumbo, Aladdin, and Spaceship Earth. Any one else tried to take an infant on any of these rides? any feedback would be appreciated.

we took our dd when she was 11 mo. went on all the slow moving rides, peter pan, small world etc... loved the mon.rail more than anything,(yes, we drove to the mk and epcot just so we could hear her laugh on the mon.rail) we would get to the parks when they open, back to the room at 1 for a nap(for me) than back to the parks at 4-5. we went into car. of progress, she screamed (i dont mean cry) screamed, it was about the second set, i got up and exited the building, i took two steps and there was a cm waiting for us. shes now 15 (still reminder her of the car. of prog.screaming bit) the following year, we went on the race cars at mk, she has been there 15 times since and in our living room theres a picture frame with 15 pictures of myself and her in the cars together. its neat to see how big she got from trip to trip.pick something out that you can do every time you go down, its neat to watch them grow. we are going in 36 days and next year shes going to able to take her turn driving our van, i dont know whos more excited, me or her. i told her im sitting in the back w/ my ipod and asking "when are we eatin" and "whens the next rest stop, i have to peeeee"
cant believe shes 15, and i wouldnt trade any of it for the world!:thumbsup2

Can I join too?

Hey guys I need some help, I've bought my 11y/o boy(huge NASCAR fan) and myself DAYTONA 500 tickets and need some advice on what time to leave for the race and parking at the track. One of you has to have gone to the race, any help would be awesome! Is there any bus service/shuttle from Orlando that is reasonable?

Shayne

We never actually took our kids to Walt Disney World at that age - but all three were at DISNEYLAND many times - my DD being the youngest to experience it at 6 weeks... all 3 were taken on the slow moving rides that are at both resorts - HM, IASW, Dumbo and the other Fantasyland rides - Jungle Cruise, the train, the monorail, etc. At WDW, of course there are 4 parks and each one has stuff you can definitely do with the baby. WHen there and in doubt, just ask - but there are LOTS of things to do!!!

Hi fellow Dad's. It's been a while since I've had the time to post. I've been traveling for the past six weeks and finally have a few weeks to sleep in my own bed.

I can't say that it was all bad since I did take some time between trips to take the family for 4 days of WDW flavor on the way to Miami. Budget and other factors kept us from making this an "official" visit with tickets into the parks but we did all of the things that we normally don't have time to do at some of the Resorts and other areas. DW and I have decided to call this our "Resort Hopping Trip". It's amazing how many things that you can do and how busy you can be without going into the parks. We had a blast! The only bad part of the trip was driving home from Miami through Tropical Storm Fay.

By the way, PADISFAM2 - Awesome stroller mods! And to those of you who are about to go or are there now, including V-Man on the cruise, have a great time! (although I am a bit envious...)

At 5 months old we took DD on Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, Small World (her favorite), Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Buzz Lightyear, Spaceship Earth, Finding Nemo, Great Movie Ride, Backlot Tour, Kilamanjaro Safari, and others not to mention all of the shows!

There are plenty of rides that the little ones can go on!

That is what I was expecting, according to the Website. You never know how it is going to be in practice. I am glad to hear all the rides that we will be able to go on. We are really looking forward to this trip. Though after our Trip to Busch Gardens I became a little concerned that I would not be able to ride more than a few things. Even though there is not a height restriction, sometimes it's just not practical.

Thanks for the info.

Haven't started any traditions yet myself, but I think this is a great idea! Will definitely start something next trip...

As others have already said, you should be good on most rides. I also found the WDW website to be a good resource when planning my DD's first trip as a toddler. You can (or at least used to be able to) choose your "experience" when looking at the theme park maps. Select the pre-schoolers group (or whatever the youngest group is) and it will print you a customized map for each park with the suggested rides/shows for the specific age group. For example, it will filter out the "scarier" rides (Snow White, etc) even though they are "allowed" to ride. I found it to be a help in planning.

Have a great time...

How have I missed this thread???
