Hello everyone!!

My name is Kevin and I am a Disneyaholic.

When I am at work (Locomotive Engineer) I spend a lot of my time reading Disney Travel books and though I drive trains all I really want to do is drive the train in the Magic Kingdom or a Monorail.

Thanks,

Kevin

Have you taken the Magic of the Steam Trains Tour? I brought my Father In-Law for the tour and it was quite interesting. Though you will probably fit right in. :thumbsup2

I'm sitting in PHX waiting for my connection to SNA... more than half way to DL! :thumbsup2 Just checked the hours for tomorrow and Mon, and the temps too - yay, it's going down a little bit - Anaheim was 98 yesterday. Oh well - hot or not, I'm getting my Disney fix in about 14 hours. :cool2:

May the Magic :smickey: of all the Dis Dad's be with you:yoda:

HAVE FUN:thumbsup2

Hi, Ill be there in DL in Oct let us know how the trip went

Hello everyone!!

My name is Kevin and I am a Disneyaholic. I am not addicted to nicotine, alcohol, or drugs but get the shakes every time I think about going to Disney. When my wife and daughter (5) are not home I sneak in the Disney vacation video or one of the many tivoed Disney Travel Channel shows and could watch them all over and over:happytv: . I spend countless hours everyday on disney related websites to get my fix. :surfweb:

When I am at work (Locomotive Engineer) I spend a lot of my time reading Disney Travel books and though I drive trains all I really want to do is drive the train in the Magic Kingdom or a Monorail.

My wife doesn't have the same obsession with Disney as I do though my dd(5) does. Do you believe my wife would actually like to take other vacations besides Disney? :confused3 She wants to go on an all-inclusive trip to Mexico or sit on the beach in Hawaii. My response was at Disney she could have all-inclusive with the DDP (sort of), she could sit on many beaches, and she could drink Margaritas in Mexico.

Anyway sorry to ramble but I hope I fit your criteria to join the Dad's Club!

Thanks,

Kevin

You sound a lot like me! Welcome to our club of Merry Men! Oh yeah... just be aware that there is no cure for being a Disneyholic. All we can do (and all we wanna do) is be a support group for you!

Hi, Ill be there in DL in Oct let us know how the trip went

Will do - I'm currently sitting on my FIL's patio in San Clemente. He has a beach condo that he hardly ever uses (bought it for "the family" - so whenever any of us want to use it we can.) It sits on a bluff overlooking the Pacific, with an access stairway down to the beach next to it. 110 steps down (and up again - huff, huff). Naturally my body was still on Eastern time this morning, so I was up early. Went down to the beach for a walk. Later came back up to get ready for the day. Had breakfast with my brother on the pier. Had fun watching the surfers attempt to catch some waves - some did great, most didn't. The waves kept breaking too soon, or just weren't very good this morning. Saw some girl and her dad out fishing on the pier - no luck yet, but she was having a great time! Another son (little guy, probably 4 or 5) and his dad were on a bench near the pier's parking lot watching the surfers... dad was telling the son what the surfers were doing right or wrong. Even though they weren't doing Disney stuff together, I was proud of those dads taking time to spending time with their kids this morning, and teaching them stuff. Gonna go have lunch with my grandma (lives in an assisted living home) in Mission Viejo - then it's on to DL and DCA for the afternoon & evening! Right now while DISi'ng for a few minutes I'm taking my photos from this morning off the camera now, so that the card will be good and clear for all the shots I expect to take in the parks today and tomorrow.

I've never posted pictures here on the DIS. Those of you that have, what hosting site would you recommend? I've seen photobucket talked about - anything else, or is that the best? I've never written a trip report before, but do plan on that this time around.

Have a great day DADS!

A belated thanks for welcoming me to the club. It's nice to have a place to hang out with all the other disdads. Looking forward to some good conversations.

I wanna join too. Here's a few addtions. Our Christmas tree has all Disney ornamnets on it. I have a DVC decal on my minivan. Most of your passwords consist of some sort of Disney theme. I own a Mickey Mouse toaster.

Well Dad's I'm back and the weather was great ( well one bad storm but it missed us while we were playing).

I had a great event , The team not so much. With all the new players ( including myself after a 2 year layoff) we had to figure some things out. By the time we did it was too late but we all had a great time and can't wait until Buffalo in July.

Welcome to all the new members I see we are still growing at a great pace

I'm happily guilty of the Christmas tree also.:cool1:

Stopher did you see the new OBA?:confused3

We have Disney on our Christmas tree too - but ours is more of a travelogue - since we collect ornaments from everywhere we go... so we've got WDW, DL, Niagara Falls, Kings Island, Mackinac Island, the Fox Theatre in Detroit, the Grand Canyon, San Fran, NYC, Universal Studios, various states, and a variety of other destinations that I can't think of right now.

Chill - I did NOT see the new OBA, just the old, existing one. I don't think the daytime testing doesn't happen on the weekends since there would be too many upset folks...moreso than weekdays - so perhaps today I'll be able to see it. I plan on riding it today, too. I kept trying to a picture of any OBA and finally got one. The YOMD dreams junk covers it up so much, it's like a shrink-wrapped Easter egg though. U G L Y.

They're really only running one train as far as I understand - they've basically worked em to death. That's why they need the new ones. I just read over on miceage.com that there are still problems with the new ones - so they won't be opening them very soon. It's a shame. I'll definitely be on the look out today though - gotta run so I can hop in the shower and get to the park!!!

Have fun Stopher...Man, I drove right by WDW on I-4 headed to my Bass Tournament this weekend...truck was trying to force me to exit:lmao: ..but the boat kept pushing me toward US 27:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

We have made your club amendments (#83 - #86). :thumbsup2

I actually have 2 Christmas trees. DW decorates 1 with all her fancy "pretty" ornaments. Then , the kids and I have another which we decorate with our fun ornaments (mostly Disney characters of course) :santa:

That's a good idea. I think that the "Disney Fanatic" household will have to have two trees this year!
