Went to the UT vs Buffalo game on Saturday...Half Time show was a special treat...for you Band Geeks...they did a Tribute to Disney songs.

Also the UT Band is joined by a Local High School from Nearby (to me) Kingsport TN.

Note that during the Hi-ho-hi-ho part that Smokey is dressed as Sorcerer Mickey. (He's leading the group on the Right.)

Enjoy.

Also...here was the High School Band's performance...I thought they did an outstanding job. :thumbsup2

It's nice to have a bit of down time at work to catch up on things. Busy weekend at home - my brother came down and ran all of the plumbing for the new kitchen. We ran into less problems than I had planned on, so we decided to run to the local Menards and buy a new sliding patio door to replace the half fixed pane/half swinging door combo that we had. It's amazing how much more room you can free up by not having that thing swinging 3 feet into the room.

I've got a very busy fall ahead of me. This week: electric and insulation. This weekend: drywall. Then the next two weekends are the kids' birthdays - a 4 girl sleep over for my daughter's birthday and a party at Monkey Joe's (the local indoor giant inflatable bouncy house place) on Sunday for my son. The weekend after that we have a wedding in a city 220 miles away. The weekend after that we leave for our DCL Cruise.
Oh, and cabinets will be delivered sometime in there too. This cruise may be the most expensive nap time I've ever had!

Congrats on your remodel progress.I don't think I've ever gotten to utter the phrase "We ran into less problems than I had planned on".

Given your schedule you really need to do the rainforest room one day when you are on the Dream. A cruise is a much better environment to wing it than the parks. Aside from excursions there's not a lot to plan.

Barry - I think you need a few more things to do before your trip. What cabin are you in? I'll be sure to leave some goodies on your door for you. They might still be there in a week after ours.

Dave

Good morning all!!

Oh man that sucks! Somebody got turkey on your bacon dinner:headache:

Maybe there's no turkey in there. It could be a bacon-mache mold of a turkey filled with more bacon.

bacon-mache: the worlds tastiest craft project.

Wow, that never happens for me. :lmao::rotfl2:

We did the planning and ran to the store on Friday night to get the supplies/pipe/etc so we could start bright and early on Saturday morning. My brother thought we would be done by noon, I put my money on 5. We actually split the difference and finished plumbing work at about 3. Luckily, there is a True Value Hardware about 3 blocks from my house for those "oops, we need one more part" runs.

I just want to say good luck. We're all counting on you. Is there a way you could stealthily co-opt the kids from the sleepover into hanging drywall? :confused3
The best part of the sleepover? Evan and I won't be there. That night is the home opener for the Milwaukee Admirals AHL Hockey team. A friend of my just happens to have 2 extra tickets to the game. :woohoo:

That's a great wife! Sounds like you just need to guilt Bambi into coming up with the $400. :thumbsup2 Good luck!
I'm not sure guilting a pregnant woman into something is actually a sin, but in the Church of Bambi, that's probably punishable by a frying pan to the back of the head. :headache:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Good job piling on!

Do you need reservations for that? We tried to book a couples spa treatment as soon as our booking window opened, but the only times left were during dinner.

We're in 2522.
But I think I'd be afraid of anything that hangs around a stateroom door for more than a week. :scared1:

I've got a True Value that's a quick run for those "oops" parts too, but it is closed on Sunday and closes at noon on Saturday... It seems like I'm usually saying "oops" at about 12:05 on Saturday afternoon. :headache:

Reservations aren't needed. You buy a day pass which is $16 per person. They do limit the number of passes they sell per day, but I haven't ever heard of them selling out.

What the Beverly? How would that be relaxing? I'd be worrying DW catching me check out the hot girl masseuse.

Good Mornin' Gents....

Got my ADR's done this morning....pretty much got all the ones we wanted.

I had a 1:05p Lunch at Le Cellier but then all of the sudden "tinkerbell" caused her system to crash before we checked out.

So there went my 1:05p lunch....thankfully, I was still able to get a 2:15p.

So here's how we ended up:

Saturday - dinner with the DW at Il Mulino
Sunday - Lunch at Le Cellier
Monday - Dinner at O'hana
Tuesday - Lunch at CRT
Wednesday - Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Thursday - Dinner at Teppan Edo
Friday - Dinner at 1900 Park Fare

So 3 out of 7 are Character meals....I thought that was a good mix.

Anyone know when I can call for Bibbidy Bobbity Reservations? Do they fall into the 180+10 rule when you stay on site?

Good choices. I am not a CRT lunch fan, but hopefully you will have a good menu. As for BBB, yes, you call the dining # and can make the reservation. We had to book two time slots at same time, so we called as early as possible. Really important to consider time of day, especially if you are getting the plastic shoes. If early in day, have them something else to change into. Some of those dresses are hot and scratchy. We did a BBB 2 hours before CRT dinner ADR and were glad we did. They were running behind on appointment times. It might be better earlier in the day.

Morning guys,

Well I did not have as good a time as Dave is having at WDW (sounds like a great trip Dave), I did have fun. Here are a few of the bazzillion pics taken.

This guy was one of a pack that attacked me. Was kneeling on the sand and they thought it was lunch time.

It was quite funny. One even got a small piece of flesh. Man eater.

This guy spent about 20 minutes posing for us underwater. He came up to the surface and was nice enough to come back down to us for more posing.

This nurse was just chilling under a ledge and let us take a few pics

There was also a huge Grouper. Must have been at least 75 pounds.

Sorry Fed it is a marine sanctuary so he is safe from the frying pan.

Also shot a few videos. I will try to upload then later.

All in all a good time. Drive back Wednesday for a night dive and I take my friend and his kid back on Thursday.

Great pics. I love seafood.

Barry,

Never had "less problems than I planned on." Wonder what that is like. I would have popped a beer and celebrated. You are a better man than I am Gunga Din. Just got done with our kitchen but because I have no building talent, all I did was demo and caulk and paint. Believe me, not less stressful at all. I feel your pain.

Good luck with the continued construction and the birthday parties. As mentioned, not a lot of planning on the cruise needed other than excursions and Palo reservations. Great way to decompress. Nothing wrong with taking a nap or two.

We did CRT for lunch last year and the food wasn't half bad....so we're giving it a go again.

Got the BBB reservation for 2 hrs and 15 min before our CRT reservation. I too have heard of them getting behind and didn't want to take any chances. :thumbsup2
