Tell Mickey my family says HELLO! :thumbsup2 why send pic of the day to Don? Send it to all of us!! :woohoo:

My non-Disney friends just don't get it. They talk about a great time at the beach. I tell them there is a beach at WDW. They talk about eating food, shopping, mini golf, boat excursions, etc and I say WDW has all that. I'm looking forward to when DW and I can take an adults only trip again.

No kidding...I fight this all the time--even within my own family...my brother, he don't get it:rotfl2:

Cj...Nice!!!

We watched a movie called bridesmaid, and one of the characters said "they had their "dream honeymoon" in Disney world! They were this bubbly happy couple! I was jealous.. Everyone else laughed!! :confused3

I hear ya. Gave up on trying to talk to the nonbelievers long ago. Told someone about parasailing at WDW and they were shocked you could do things other than standing in line. DD is starting to get the "Disney again?" looks. She told me they just don't get it. You can tell she was raised right. A proud dad moment.

Fine with me. More room for us believers. I think Dave summed up what Disney means to us with his post on being there on the 40th.

Good Mornin' Gents....

Got my ADR's done this morning....pretty much got all the ones we wanted.

I had a 1:05p Lunch at Le Cellier but then all of the sudden "tinkerbell" caused her system to crash before we checked out.

So there went my 1:05p lunch....thankfully, I was still able to get a 2:15p.

So here's how we ended up:

Saturday - dinner with the DW at Il Mulino
Sunday - Lunch at Le Cellier
Monday - Dinner at O'hana
Tuesday - Lunch at CRT
Wednesday - Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Thursday - Dinner at Teppan Edo
Friday - Dinner at 1900 Park Fare

So 3 out of 7 are Character meals....I thought that was a good mix.

Anyone know when I can call for Bibbidy Bobbity Reservations? Do they fall into the 180+10 rule when you stay on site?

Watched Transformers: Dark Side tonite. It was awesome and the best of all three. And, the new girl is even hotter than the last one.
I agree.:thumbsup2 That goes for both statements.:lmao:

Got it - Bacon topped with Dole Whips. Who wants one? :-p. Being from Canada, I'll make it Canadian Bacon, unless anyone objects?

:rotfl:
Welcome to the club! It looks like you fit in quite well!

Morning guys,

Well I did not have as good a time as Dave is having at WDW (sounds like a great trip Dave), I did have fun. Here are a few of the bazzillion pics taken.
Looks like fun. Sorry you couldn't make it to MK for the 40th, but I think your trip would make a great consolation prize.

Great pic CJ

I eat in Canada almost every night. It's really nothing special. :rotfl2:
:lmao::rotfl: Does that mean you can only get Canadian Bacon?

IN CLOSING FOR TODAY. I HAVE TO ADMIT, IM NOT TO SENTIMENTAL, I GENERALY LOOK AHEAD. ALL THE TRIPS AND ALL THE YEARS I NEVER THOUGHT TO MUCH ABOUT ANYTHING BUT TODAY, STANDING WAITING FOR THE GATES TO OPEN AND THE ROPE DROP SHOW, I WAS THINKING THIS PLACE WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD THE FIRST TIME I WAS HERE. ALOT HAS CHANGED. I BASICLY GREW UP HERE. I STILL REMEMBER SITTING ON THE CURB IN FRONT OF THE CONFECTIONARY WAITING FOR THE ELECTRIC LIGHT PARADE AND MY DAD TELLING ME TO LOOK AROUND, YOULL NEVER KNOW WHEN YOULL BE HERE AGAIN. MY MOM BREAKING A DENTURE ON A FROZEN BANANA. BY BROTHER WHO PASSED AWAY SLEEPING IN THE CAR OUT BY THE MAIN GATE WAITING TO GET IN BECAUSE THE PARK WAS FULL TO CAPACITY. COMING DOWN WITH JUST MY DAD AFTER MY MOM PASSED. COMING DOWN THE NEXT YEAR ON MY HONEYMOON AFTER MY DAD PASSED. BRINGING BRIANA DOWN WHEN SHE WAS 9 MONTH OLD AND 24 MORE TIMES AFTER THAT.SEEING THAT SHE HAS THE SAME MEMORIES AS I WAS GIVIN, AND NOW STANDING INFRONT OF THE TRAIN STATION, JUST ME AND TAMMY (AND 50,000 OTHER PEOPLE) WAITING FOR THE GATES TO OPEN AGAIN. ALOT OF TIME AND MEMORIES ARE HERE, WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY. GOOD THING I HAD SUN GLASS'S ON IM SURE MY EYES WERE RED. :rotfl: BUT ALL GOOD THING. I WISH I COULD GO BACK AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN BUT I CANT. SO , LOOKING FORWARD TO THE 40 YEARS AND MORE MEMORIES!! :thumbsup2

Great post Dave. Thanks for letting us all live vicariously through your pics and posts.

Canadian Bacon is not Bacon.
Crumpled up crispy bacon on top of a sweet frozen beverage = good
Slice of ham on top of a sweet frozen beverage = not good

I assumed he was referring to this;

Is this the spot where I can obtain my membership?! :) I've just now, after a number of years on this site, seen this section and instantly have a new obsession on the boards!

I'm the dad of 1 (+1 dog) and 1 on the way and share a lot of the criteria on the membership page. Goofy is also my mascot, with Beaker a close 2nd.

And we have our own sub-forum and everything now! :lmao: Welcome! You are member #657! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2

Went to the UT vs Buffalo game on Saturday...Half Time show was a special treat...for you Band Geeks...they did a Tribute to Disney songs.

Also the UT Band is joined by a Local High School from Nearby (to me) Kingsport TN.

Note that during the Hi-ho-hi-ho part that Smokey is dressed as Sorcerer Mickey. (He's leading the group on the Right.)

Enjoy.

It's nice to have a bit of down time at work to catch up on things. Busy weekend at home - my brother came down and ran all of the plumbing for the new kitchen. We ran into less problems than I had planned on, so we decided to run to the local Menards and buy a new sliding patio door to replace the half fixed pane/half swinging door combo that we had. It's amazing how much more room you can free up by not having that thing swinging 3 feet into the room.

I've got a very busy fall ahead of me. This week: electric and insulation. This weekend: drywall. Then the next two weekends are the kids' birthdays - a 4 girl sleep over for my daughter's birthday and a party at Monkey Joe's (the local indoor giant inflatable bouncy house place) on Sunday for my son. The weekend after that we have a wedding in a city 220 miles away. The weekend after that we leave for our DCL Cruise.
Oh, and cabinets will be delivered sometime in there too. This cruise may be the most expensive nap time I've ever had!

Wow Barry....just remember to breathe through all of that!

At least having a busy schedule will bring that cruise weekend here a little faster for ya! :thumbsup2

That's actually what I'm afraid of. With everything else going on, I feel like we've vastly under-planned/under prepared for the cruise. We may end up winging it a little, which goes against everything my wife and I believe in as far as Disney vacations. :confused3

Speaking of DCL cruises and vacations, while my brother was down, he told us all about the 3 day Dream cruise he just took with his wife. He also surprised me and told me that she had booked him 8 laps on the Richard Petty Driving Experience at WDW while they were down there. Man does that sound like fun! :goodvibes Now I need to come up with an extra $400 to do it myself. :sad2:

Wow, that never happens for me. :lmao::rotfl2:

Wow... a lot going on. Just don't forget about those late night pregnancy craving junk food runs that you'll have to make and the TR from July that you still have to finish. :lmao: It will be worthwhile though. I can think of worse things to be busy with.

I just want to say good luck. We're all counting on you. Is there a way you could stealthily co-opt the kids from the sleepover into hanging drywall? :confused3

That's a great wife! Sounds like you just need to guilt Bambi into coming up with the $400. :thumbsup2 Good luck!
