Evening all, hope it was a good one. Pretty good Victoria Day here, the weather held out so for the most part, it was a good day. Bbq at my parents, DW and I got some work around the home done, and I got in a Memorial Cup game, since my bro was unavailable, so good time with just dad and me.

I never have, but I know some people who have.

Lot's of people here on the DISboards have - and I have never heard of a problem from anyone.

Hey David... this is the first year where we did not purchase our tickets from Disney. We ended up using UT to purchase 4 day hopper tickets. They are awesome! Not only do they have a good price (lowest I could find) , they shipped them out very quickly. ALSO... once we got to our resort (BWV) the concierge was able to take the unused tickets and simply add them to the KTTW... so no worrying about keeping the tickets safe while you're on the go.

Ok, have to share. So, this new company I'm working at is obviously growing because another new hire started today. Her name is....wait for it.....here it comes....keep waiting....BEVERLY!!!....I had to restrain a laugh when I was introduced.....

You should subtley tell her 'bout Club Cool and Italy...

Oh... and find out if she like's Peanut Butter.

I have not posted much on this thread - wow - with all of the other new threads, and working on FTJ stuff - and Scout stuff, and family stuff - I've been largely absent. But I peek in from time to time. Nice to see you all having a good time.

On the Scouting front - I got my Wood Badge beads tonight! I am SO EXCITED!!

Plus I leave for FL Friday afternoon. Another reason to be SO EXCITED!!

Now that the Wood Badge stuff is finally officially completed - I can turn my full attention to.... Summer Camp! We leave in just 4 weeks.

Anyone ever purchased their WDW tickets from a broker like undercover tourist?

Big fan of Undercover Tourist; used them for both WDW and Universal tix past several trips. You save some $ as they don't charge shipping. Very prompt; tix arrive sealed individually in a plastic sleeve. Be sure to turn tix over and confirm on back correct days/hoppers/extras before you break the seal on plastic. You get the actual, real tickets you would from WDW or Universal (no vouchers); all my orders have been perfect.

Oops, sorry, I sound like a commercial. Honestly, I don't work for or know anyone at the company; just a good purchasing experience with them over past 4 years.

And yes, Joplin was crushed, and the news just said 116 people died. There's lots of people in StL with family in and near Joplin (it's only 5 hrs give or take) down I-44, so really rough.
But thank you for the note. It was appreciated.

The pictures are heartbreaking. Glad you're ok. I read on another thread that one member of the DISBoards was a resident of Joplin and lost her life in the tornado. Those folks will need all the help we can give.

I’ve been off doing other thing the past few days and haven’t really been keeping up. About the only thing on the board I’ve been updating is the current TR. I’ll rummage back through the thread if I get a chance, but for now, I’ll just pick it up from here.

First, I’m glad to hear that all y’all in the middle have not been directly effected by the storms, although my thought continue to go out to the folks in Joplin. Very sad.

well the tornado lastnight missed me by about 4 miles. living in the notheast, we are not use to this stuff,or know what to look for. i was sitting her on the dis and all of a sudden the fire whistle started blowing. i looked up and the south west was black. there was a faint humming noise, almost like thunder that didnt stop. my wife was a baseball game and a girl she was with, husband called who lives in that direction and they were in the basement!!! he wasnt sure what it was but it was loud and started to swirl. the tornado went buy them in about 1/2 mile and moved on to the east toward nj. i never seen anything like that before.

I'm glad it missed you Dave, that's never fun... I've seen a few tornadoes before, but usually from a safe distance and thankfully, not coming towards me. Not that it was a good thing for someone else.

Our preacher had a gathering at his house last night for basically a bunch of 20 somethings. His son is a Ranger and his daughter is a nurse in the military and has been stationed in Hawaii for about 2 or 3 years now. She had a baby 6 weeks ago and they were all home for the week, so they had a big gathering for some of us who grew up with them or were friends from church/school. When we left home the sky was starting to get dark. They came over the radio with a tornado warning for our area and just as the sirens start going off, we come to a stoplight. I'm sitting at this stoplight with all sorts of debris flying around, trees bending, branches flying, the stoplights shaking, and it felt like the back end of our Tahoe wanted to lift off the ground. I was looking around for a tornado or funnel cloud, but never saw one anywhere. I was about ready to just gun it and run the redlight, and apparently someone else had that idea as well and ended up getting T-boned in the middle of the intersection. It wasn't a big hit and apparently neither was concerned enough to stop in that situation... they both stopped for a few seconds and then took off. We made the rest of the drive safely, but had to dodge tree branches on the road and just before we pulled into the driveway, a big branch blew out of a tree across the road right in front of us. Not a fun drive but we made it there. Cleared up right after we go there there too. I think it was just straight line winds and no tornadoes, but there are trees, power lines and branches on the ground everywhere. Scary evening, but not as scary as it must have been for those in Joplin the other night.

I hate this kind of weather.

Seriously, we sweep the Cards, then get swept by the frickin' Pirates and Indians and now have to face the most Beverly ridiculous pitching rotation ever assembled to try to break this skid. Not a good week.
