It's like being within $100 of your Showcase Showdown! And I missed the "Andy" reference.

Cheers,
Indy
Did you mean to add, "and going over" to that first statement?
Just felt like calling Andy out cause he had the last post on the prior thread. princess-trapped was my way of getting around the forum's programatic censoring of certain words.

That's what we did too, though it wasn't during the high season. The Poly is wonderful, and the proximity to the MK and the monorail probably do make it worth it during a time when having transportation flexibility is important (you've got access to boats, monorail, and buses from the Poly).

If I has it to do over again, I probably would have chosen a moderate or the Swan for our trip. But we were traveling during a much less busy time, so those other considerations were less critical. And if we'd held some of that money back, we'd be returning to WDW much sooner.

I love to stay at the Poly or the Contemporary one day..... hey, The disney Resorts sounds like a good theme for a Podcast! :thumbsup2

Don, would you please be so kind as to update page 1 with Carl's and my new relationship? :cool2:

So I'm just chilling on the disboards at a little after midnight, waiting for my wife to empty my rock tumbler and show my what the tumbled rocks look like on skype. Ahh technology..enabling our inner child since 1999.

Still in London?

I am not big on speeches. How ever I would like to take this 1,000th post and say thank you to all of the great friends I have made here in the DDC !!! There have been many posts and speeches about the great Dads in this unique club, so I dont have to repeat any of that. I just want to say Thank You for sharing your Disney addiction with me!!!:thumbsup2

Congratulations! I'm a long way from that but if I ever get serious in trying to close a thread I may make a dent in it.

Thanks for the congrats everyone! First of all I want to thank God, my creator and the reason I'm here. Thanks to my wife for putting up with my Disney addiction and for being a wonderful mother to our son who I'm sure will follow in my footsteps down the path of Disneymania.

It was a hard fought battle today and I put a good game plan together. I just had to go out there and execute it and just hope all the pieces fell into place. When I had to leave for lunch, I really thought it was going to slip away, but then when I came back in the 4th quarter, it was obvious that I was still right there in the hunt. I had to get my head back into the game and stick with it. Stopher baited us into thinking he didn't care about closing threads anymore, but when you have a perennial championship caliber competitor like him, you've always got to bring your A game to compete.

Thanks everyone, this is a proud moment, but I'd like to announce my retirement from future final post competition. If I do compete in the future it will be recreationally in the pro-am circuit. This competition really took a lot out of me and I'm not sure I could ever go through it again.:thumbsup2

Well played sir!

So am I crazy to even be considering booking Poly for a high season holiday peak week for next year?

I mean - it will be our first week at WDW and also our first time staying on property....shouldn't I do it right the first time???
I think it depends. It's obviously going to be expensive, but expensive is relative, does this swipe all your vacation money from coming trips? If your gonna do a deluxe Poly has a lot of advantages. Being both on the monorail and a close walk to the TTA gives you the easiest access to the greatest number of parks. I think that'll come in particularly handy in peak season when making rope drop tends to have a much bigger impact on your touring ability.

Stay safe Steve. Hope this is over quickly.

Stay safe, Steve! Let us know when you come out of the closet!

:rotfl2:

Well, I am out of the closet now!:rotfl2: Thanks for being supportive!:lmao: Serioulsy though...the storms are really bad tonight and we might be headed for cover again at any time...the hail and lightning are horrible..the sky looks green!!! I have never seen it like this before!!!

Ryan what are you doing in your spare time while in London?? Where else do you have to go before heading home??

And hope DS feels better soon!

So, we finally got the dog tonight. A rescue dog from Tennessee (don't you southerners spay or neuter your dogs?!). A beautifully calm 3-4 year old black lab that our school psychologist (who runs a rescue) got for us. Mainly we got it as a pseudo-therapy dog for our oldest, but our DD thinks it's for her. So far, he's working out great, but it's only been about 5 hours. Check out FB for photos. A lot of work for DW, but she really wanted it

And do you think they'll catch the port-to-port killer tonight? I'm going dark until after NCIS, so will see you guys in a hour on DDC XI! Got a title for the next one yet Don?

Holy Moly.... over 150 pages today.

When you guys put your mind to it, you can do anything.

I have to admit, I did not read the last 140 pages... was there anything interesting? :rotfl2:

I mentioned bacon, princesses and Dole whips, but am still waiting for the pictures to appear from one of you that gets to the world more than I do!

Wahoo!:cool1:

Thread title ownage! Too cool.
