Sorry to be a downer here this evening. We have had a huge tragedy today and I need you all to remember a special family from our church in your prayers. The Father and 2 children were on the way to watch 2 older sons play a baseball game for their High School and they were hit head on. The Father was killed and the children teenage girl and 8 year old boy were lifeflighted and are both in the or right now with ruptured bowels caused from the seatbelts. In addition to the ruptured bowels...The daughter is also unable to feel anything from the diaphragm down or unable to move and we are told she has broken bones in her back but I am not sure what part of her back. The youngest son has a borken jaw and multiple facial lacerations. Please send prayers up for this family. They are a very special family to us!

The youngest child Jacob who is 8 is now out of surgery. They had to remove a portion of his bowel. He is still on a ventilator. His sister Allison who is 13 or 14 is still in OR. They are working on her ruptured bowel before they address any further the paralysis that she is having. Keep praying...going to be a long night!

The 4 yo has finally fell a sleep after a his birthday party.....he is now calling himself Griffin"jack sparrow" or just finn sparrow...we got him a party coustome from the new movie....sword and all...went around the house shouting ""arr mi harties......" oh well thats it for tonight.....see ya thursday.....

To all the Denver folks,
I am also coming out to Denver, but will just miss Aaron by days (getting there the 15th). Staying around the convention center somewhere. I know that I'm free either the 17th or 18th if anyone wants to meet up, get a drink, have dinner, etc.

She is pretty much in a state of shock...I can't imagine what she is going through! She can't even grieve for her husband because she has to worry if her children will survive...When I spole with her at the hospital she was just numb....yesterday the oldest son posted on his facebook site about how good yesterday was and that he was sure tomorrow (today now) was going to be even better...man o man...

Hey Texas Dads! Especially BigTex71....... The Blue Angels will be performing at NAS Corpus Christi this weekend (9th and 10th) and Ft. Worth Joint Reserve Base the following weekend (16th-17th)! My son will be the Crew Chief for the #1 jet at both shows. Get over to one of the shows if you can and listen to the roar of freedom!
Cool. I will try to make it to the JRB. We used to sit on the roof of our house to watch the Thunderbirds perform out of there. They would use the side street next to our house to line up parallel to the main runway, so they would fly almost directly over our house. Good times!

I am heartbroken with this news. This is one of my worst fears in life... leaving behind my wife and children... absolutely heart-wrenching. Many, many prayers going out.
