Congrats on the 2K mark...

Dude...that's brutal...:lmao:

2000... Year 2K... The year when we all thought the digital world would come to an end because we weren't smart enough to think what would happen when the date rolled over. The year George W. Bush became president. It was a leap year. And it was also the last year of the 20th century. For a lot of us this was a year that we thought many things would change... or when we thought we would make significant changes. Alas, thinking back, it was just another year. And now here were are staring into the face of year 2011. Remember when you thought anything over the year 2000 felt so... futuristic?? :darth:

I'm not sure that the 2000th post on this board deserves much pomp and circumstance. But I am kindly reminded that my journey on the DIS started just over 3 years ago... the same year I gave up cigarette smoking after nearly 20 years of using it. The year when we decided as a family to take our first journey back to WDW. And I came to this wonderful source of information to figure out where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and the tricks to making an enjoying vacation. Never did I think I'd find a place in a online forum to share my "unpopular" passion with a group of men. But I did! And I am proud to say that you guys have become more than just a bunch of usernames to me... more like a bunch of friends all over the world... who have similar values and an awesome desire to make our families into FAMILIES.

I pray for each of you when I get up in the morning that God would give you the strength, wisdom, and love you need to get through the day doing His work. Thanks for allowing me the honor and privilege to keep the thread going. I
now we have many, many ,
Pmany more to go! :lmao::lmao:

Thanks for letting me share... I'm kicking the box over to the corner now. Peace. (rolling out to Vanilla Ice... dum,dum,dum,dumda,dum,dum....)

Nicely put, Don! I'm glad for the opportunity to get to know you (at least virtually), & look forward to meeting you in person. And we all owe you a debt by keeping these threads going!

The year 2000, I remember it well... the year I graduated high school...:lmao:

Excellent 2000th post Don! Thanks for the work you put into keeping our thread alive... too bad that job doesnt pay overtime, because at this pace, you deserve it.:thumbsup2

Following up on a suggestion from theduck619, I've posted the recording schedule for DIS Dads Podcasts through episode 10, which coincidentally also takes us through the end of June, on the DIS Dads Calendar. We're still recording roughly every two weeks, on Thursday nights beginning at 9:00 p.m. Central Time. But due to my work travel schedule, Episode 5 is set for a Tuesday night (in case some of you who wanted to participate had a problem with Thursday nights).

I'm going to begin editing those calendar events with more detailed information on planned topics, so if you're interested in participating, you can look ahead for topics that you'd like to talk about. The easiest way for me to keep track of people who want to participate is for them to send Email to my screen name @disdads.com. It's just too difficult to keep track of people expressing interest here in the thread - it moves way too fast. If you're interested in a particular topic or date, please mention that in the Email.

Hopefully this one will only post once. :p

I've gone through and plugged in basic show outlines for all of the episodes through Episode 10. They are, of course, subject to change at this point. But I thought a bit of advanced planning might make it easier for people to see which shows they might be interested in volunteering for.

I am not sure Lamb will be back. With a number of other top players electing to stay I think a number of freshman will be enticed to leave early beacuse their draft status is improving.
He is so raw that I don't think it is even on the radar... I be SHOCKED if he left.

Not for at least 3 of the games.;)
Ouch, but true. :sad2:

For the time being, anyway.:rolleyes1
:sad2:

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist your set-up. I don't mean to just pick on UConn, I'm at the point that I'm pretty much fed up with the NCAA. Nothing but violations all the time in football and basketball anymore. I want to see them get things cleaned up so that we can quit seeing championships and wins stripped from a program after the players and coaches responsible have gone on to greener pastures. It isn't a UConn problem, it is an NCAA problem, but UConn is just on top of the pile at the moment. I rip on any team coached by Calipari and USC and Ohio State football just as much, if not more.:lmao:
The NCAA is a business that, i believe, doesn't have the 'student-athletes' best interests at heart.

I can't wait for the Nate Miles story to come to light....

From ESPN-- Nate Miles is open to talking to the NCAA about his recruitment by Connecticut, and the former prep star told The New York Times that Huskies coach Jim Calhoun knew he received improper benefits from a former team manager.

Miles, for many, is less than a fully credible character. He was kicked out of UConn before playing a game, and well before the scandal involving his recruitment became public. He said, after interviews with The New York Times, that he would demand to be paid for any other media interviews. And Miles’s admissions about taking cash from an agent conflict with a sworn statement he gave the N.C.A.A.

So, the guy who has 2 different children with 2 women in the last three years, who has no money, just got stabbed, wants to finally start talking? OK.

Honestly though, on the basketball court, UConn was the best team. They played well down the stretch through the Big East tournament and the NCAA tournament. I kind of wanted to pick them in my bracket, I just felt like the run in NYC was going to leave them running on fumes and I thought it would eventually catch up to them. That kind of logical thinking is also why my bracket sucked.:rotfl2: After the UK game, it looked like they were losing their legs, but they rebounded to win a defensive slugfest last night. Congratulations to UConn. :thumbsup2
They had a memorable run and are not the most talented team in the country but they jelled well and Kemba put the freshman on his back and carried them to victory. If this team played the 1999 team(or even the 2004 team), the 2011 team would get blown out by 25 points.

Hopefully this one will only post once. :p

Im for sure in for the tuesday night one. Good topics!

DANG! 10 pages since last night. Alright, here's my responses to pages 169-179:

1) We love NCIS
2) Wish they'd bring back "The Good Guys" - I loved that show.
3) NCIS:LA is alright.

Hey Fed...and everyone else.

Y'all watch Sons of Guns?

Red Jacket makes some cool weapons.
That's a fantastic show - my son and I enjoy every minute.

Someone went through my Jeep last night. A colleague joked with my today that I must live in the projects because of that. I since found out the thieves wound up breaking into 3 cars, and they didn't find anything to steal in any of them. Hurray for possessing nothing of value :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 I had a car broken into once when I was on a date. That, uh, stunk. :)

Well said! Congrats on having way more than 4x my # of posts!

Ever notice how the area music for Frontierland gets you missing Firefly? Man - I loved that show. :(

Mother Nature is really screwed up in the head! It was snowing here just a little bit ago! :headache:

Hello?!?! It's April! (and Spring mind you)

OK, gents... the shirt order has been submitted to the print shop! :woohoo: As soon as I get the final sign-off that says they are going to print I will send out the invoices to those who have ordered. Should be on Thursday, but this is written in sand :rolleyes1

Thanks for you patience while I work out the bumps here!

Canabils-a-rama has a really good teriyaki 9yo old but I can never finish a whole one myself............wait that not what you meant was it?

You kind of had me going for a second there. I was thinking, "cannibal-a-Rama?, I've never heard of it. Must be by the jungle cruise, themed as a head hunter's place to eat" then I read the rest.
Touché
