:bday: Happy Birthday John! :bday:

Congrats to all the post milestones going on....I hit 200 the other day and didn't even realize it! :thumbsup2

I'm in dire need of some support here guys....I have three days of work to go...just not sure if I can make it through! :rotfl:

Any tips for staying awake while driving 17 hours through the night?!?

Red Bull, Monster or any of those other energy drinks. Some good tunes also helps. But the best one, MAKE YOUR WIFE DRIVE!

Top of the morning gentlemen :thumbsup2

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for allowing me to have an outlet for my Disney addiction. I have laughed more reading this then I could have imagined. We have shared laughs, struggles and joys. Even though we may be seperated by miles and modem cables (they still use those, right??) we are bonded for our love of family and the dream that Mr. Disney brought to life. Cheers fellow DisDads :drinking1

Welcome to all of the new dads as well :thumbsup2:cool1::thumbsup2

Congrats on your 500th:dance3::woohoo:

I've traditionally stuck with Starbucks...straight black, hair on your chest, coffee.

Tunes help, I agree...unfortunately I'll have my 3 year old and 21 month old sleeping behind me!

The good news is, I do have my wife and SIL in the car with me and they definitely help with the driving. I try to do as much as I can though...don't like to give up that control :rotfl:

Ok, time for the weekly NASCAR fantasy league update (a few days delayed). I wanted to include a couple of fuzzy pictures from this week's race and I finally just got them uploaded.

Seats were great, but obviously the angle was so that we really couldn't see the car in Victory Lane through the sea of humanity, but we could see Kenseth with the cowboy hat shooting the guns. Great race:thumbsup2, great facility:thumbsup2, HORRIBLE parking situation :faint:

On to the fantasy results, we had another big shake up at the top of the standings. Duck Martin is the new leader after posting a 348 as the high score of the week. $6 Disney Racers had a very rough week and dropped all the way from first to sixth. Right now it is about 200 points separating first from last place so as long as everybody sets their lineups and scores points every week, nobody is out of if yet.

The standings atfter week 7 - Samsung Mobile 500
  1. Duck Martin 1632
  2. birdslightyear 1570
  3. Mater's Racers 1560
  4. Pride Rock Motorsports 1527
  5. Jungle Cruisers 1498
  6. $6 Disney Racers
  7. Test Track Dummies 1481
  8. Rolling Thunder Racing 1442
  9. Taxidermy Tech 1428
  10. DF Racing 1425

The high score of the week belongs to Duck Martin - 348 pts
  • Carl Edwards
  • Ryan Newman
  • Clint Bowyer
  • Paul Menard

Next week is another wild card race on the high banked superspeedway in Talladega, AL. Good luck everyone!

You'd think I'd be somewhere other than last...:confused3:confused3:lmao::lmao:

Freaking Hamlin at Martinsville (where he's usually money...even in a rough year)...

Then I got so wrapped up in my race car drivin', I forgot the race was Saturday night and didn't switch my lineups...

Yeah, that won't happen again:lmao:

Ok, lots to catch up on. First of all, welcome new dads, welcome returning lapsed members, and happy birthday John! :thumbsup2

Yes. And so does Mark (prattpak) and Jason. We may have another 1 or two on here, too. (But I may hold you to that!)

I'm in the process of joining the travel agent side-business gang as well.

I think I need to look into the side TA business thing. Not to take business away from you guys, of course, but I'm just thinking of the buddies I've helped plan Disney trips over the years... :scratchin

So this is my 1000th post. I want to thank all you guys for letting me be a part of this amazing group of men. Like Aaron says in the podcast intro, we are a diverse group, but we share a love for our kids, our families and all things Disney, and that is a wonderful group to be a part of. After lurking for a while on the disABILITIES section, I finally got a login in February of 2009 so that I could join the Dis Dads Club. Wanting to be less public (although I freely share my name with you all!), I changed my login a few months ago and cheated to bring my total up to where my old one was (so I really am at 1000). Along the way, I made some great friends, first virtually, and finally some in person. I have found a great deal of fun and support here and am extremely greatful for you all. Thank you. Some of you have taken me up on my unique job, and I happy to have the opportunity to help those in need and to give back to this incredible community. Please email me if you ever need anything. I know that I plan to continue to rely on all of you for laughs, for venting or for whatever else it is we do here. Looking forward to expanding our friendships over time and in person. Thanks, guys!

Nicely said, Chris. It's been great getting to know you and your family.

Today was a hard day...Richards' funeral was today.

Ugh...sounds like it was tough all around. Still praying for these guys.

Bwahahahaha!!!!! A Banker!!! Bwahahahahaha!!!!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but no.

Hmmm...so my daughter apparently can't get ahead by marrying a doctor or banker, either. What does that leave? An AIG executive? :rotfl2:

(apologies to any AIG executives here)

Top of the morning gentlemen :thumbsup2

Great to have you here too!

Man, it looks like I picked the wrong day to get sick and stay off the boards. Too much stuff to go back and comment on, but rest assured that if you posted happy news, I'm happy too. If you posted sad news, I'm sad too. If you made some wisecrack about Wisconsin (see above), you still owe me a pizza. :rotfl2:

To be fair, Brian has come up with a good plan for that. At least, I think it's a good one because it involves me eating pizza too. :thumbsup2

Any tips for staying awake while driving 17 hours through the night?!?

Have a bowl of coffee ice cream. Wash it down with 4 Red Bulls. Then eat 3 Pixie Sticks. One Snickers bar. And then 4 more Red Bulls. :hyper:

It was a very rough week for me. I will hopefully be able to make a comback this week. Good luck all!

I've managed to wake up and go to work, drive through the night to Orlando (I drove the whole way while everyone else slept), spend a day in Universal Studios and then see a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert that night resulting in my being up for about 44 straigh hours. This was pretty much done all under the power of Red Bull...

NEVER AGAIN

Great 500th post! Very glad to have gotten to know you! :cool1: Now if you'll only join us on facebook.... :confused3

Thanks for the update, Steve! I grew up not believing in kids at funerals, but my wise DW showed me how wrong I was in that area. Its really helped my own kids get closure when relatives die. Will say a special prayer for the surgery.

Amazing pic, Mike! Congrats!

To all the new Dis Dads: :welcome: Welcome! I'm sure that I missed a few!

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!!!

:bday:party::bday:

I know Doc, I got to get on board over there as well. Of course I also have to learn to quote smaller lines rather then the whole post :rotfl:

I just filled up the minivan over the weekend and told my daughter that she could no longer go to college. She didn't seem too concerned. Maybe she's planning on marrying a doctor? :confused3

:lmao::lmao: I think maybe she's more concerned with the next episode of PnP :rotfl2:

Probably 100+ pages ago... Shhh! No spoilers! I'm waiting to watch it with DW at 9!

:cool1::cool1: Congrats on the 1000th post! Nice speech :) Although you forgot to mention your nemesisisisis... :rotfl2:

Today was a hard day...Richards' funeral was today. Allison was of course unable to attend, but the doctors let Jacob out long enough to attend the funeral and come back. Dale told him this morning that his father had died. During the funeral I was sitting in the choir loft and could see him. There was a lost and confused look on his face and then total heartbreak. I can't imagine what was going through his mind today. Bless his heart! The church was packed and there was standing room only. During the funeral our pastor offered up a special prayer for Allison because while this was all going on she was undergoing a repeat MRI prior to her surgery tomorrow. There was not a dry eye anywhere. The procession to the cemetary was over a mile long we were told. Speaks a lot for his character doesnt it? We received a call this evening from Pastor and he told us that both Jacob and Allison were to have surgery again tomorrow. Jacob is having his jaw fixed. We did have some good news in the conversation this evening...The doctors told Dale that when they looked at her MRI this evening there has been some changes and that they feel after her surgery tomorrow she will be able to make a full recovery and walk again!! Praise The Lord!!! Please keep praying for her and the rest of the family!!! I pray the doctor is right

Thank you for the update, Steve. Just reading situations like this really pulls on the heart strings. Lot's of love and prayers going out.

Emma's Dad: I never realized this until today but could you add my b-day (May 26).

Done :thumbsup2

Mornin' gents. Sitting here waiting to start my day, hospital is on emergency power due to a local substation outage. That means I can't start cases.
Oh well...waiting .

I must humbly beg entrance into your presence. I desperately need a fastpass into the DIS Dad's Club.

The Main Player
Me = Jerry, the Disney planner, KTTW keeper, ADR booker, Itinerary spreadsheet developer, Pixie Dust planner.

My Wife - Swallowed the Disney bait hook line and sinker. Got her when I told her she didn't know Disney like I knew Disney even though she had lived in Orlando for a year. Only thing she will ever admit I was right about.

DS (22) - The calm one. Graduating from NC State in May, but does that mean the money drain is over....please, it's on to law school now.

DD (16) - My new driver, think "Mad Tea Cups". Does want to do the Disney College Program of course.

DD (15) - Walking party. Like the afternoon parade.

DD (9) - Thinks the only channel is Disney. Most prized possessions are her Disney laptop and her autographed Goofy Ears.

DVC owners and admit to planning life around our Disney trip fixes.

There is nothing humble about this little place! :lmao::lmao: Glad you found us, Jerry! You are member # 582! :thumbsup2

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DIS DAD'S CLUB! :welcome:

You have been added to the DIS Dad's Club list :thumbsup2
