Hey I am not going to be able to make the draft. I can set it up to Auto Draft right?

Yes. I will take roll call as we get closer and put people on Auto-Draft.

Wow. Get busy at work for a day or two and you miss all the fun.

In light of all the comments about cars, speeding, etc. I thought I would share an E-Mail I recently received.

These are supposedly actual comments made by Troopers that were taken off their car videos:

1. "You know, stop lights don't come any redder than the one you just went through."

2. "Relax, the handcuffs are tight because they're new. They'll stretch after you wear them a while."

3. "If you take your hands off the car, I'll make your birth certificate a worthless document."

4. "If you run, you'll only go to jail tired."

5. "Can you run faster than 1200 feet per second? Because that's the speed of the bullet that'll be chasing you."

6. "You don't know how fast you were going? I guess that means I can write anything I want to on the ticket, huh?"

7. "Yes, sir, you can talk to the shift supervisor, but I don't think it will help. Oh, did I mention that I'm the shift supervisor?"

8. "Warning! You want a warning? O.K, I'm warning you not to do that again or I'll give you another ticket."

9. "The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or a dog?"

10. "Fair? You want me to be fair? Listen, fair is a place where you go to ride on rides, eat cotton candy and corn dogs and step in monkey poop."

11. "Yeah, we have a quota. Two more tickets and my wife gets a toaster oven."

12. "In God we trust; all others we run through NCIC." ( National Crime Information Center )

13. "Just how big were those 'two beers' you say you had?"

14. "No sir, we don't have quotas anymore. We used to, but now we're allowed to write as many tickets as we can."

15. "I'm glad to hear that the Chief (of Police) is a personal friend of yours. So you know someone who can post your bail."

AND THE WINNER IS....

16. "You didn't think we give pretty women tickets? You're right, we don't. Sign here."

Welcome to all new Dads!!

AWESOME list:lmao:

My Dad's favorite line he used to do was

When someone started with I know this guy and this one etc, trying to get out of a ticket, as my dad handed them the ticket he would say Now you know me too:lmao:

Holy Beverly!!! 12 pages!!!

Between this and the photo blitz I've been busy tonight.

Thanks for the Photo Blitz idea Carl. Awesome fun was had.

I'm making them a map of the homes that contain MENSA members near me. I figure they would have tastier brains, kinda the same theory as veal calves.

As a fellow Mensan, I just would like to say: I hope you don't have my address.

OH YEAH! OWNAGE.

I finally found the new home. Anyone start taking odds on ...

How long this one lasts?
Last page before closed?
Number new members?

Here are a few stats regarding our previous six threads. Granted the first one really took the longest for understandable reasons, and the second still took a while - there really wasn't a rush to "shut it down" in the first two, though the second one did have some traction to it. Volumes 3 - 6 however really are where the games took place - and as a result those closing battles skew the numbers. I just took simple averages, and did not adjust for the closing day fun of each thread. Plus each thread has had periods of extreme activity and being a relative ghost town for a while too... so quantifying the numbers was too much to do tonight - which I why I went the simple average route.

DDC >>> Open for 603 days, or roughly 20.1 months. 243 pages in length, with an average of 0.42 pages per day. A total of 3784 posts, or an average of 6 posts per day.

DDC II >>> Open for 184 days, or roughly 6.2 months. 281 pages in length, with an average of 1.53 pages per day. A total of 4206 posts, or an average of 23 posts per day.

DDC III >>> Open for 92 days, or roughly 3.1 months. 271 pages in length, with an average of 2.95 pages per day. A total of 4064 posts, or an average of 44 posts per day.

DDC IV >>> Open for 109 days, or roughly 3.6 months. 278 pages in length, with an average of 2.55 pages per day. A total of 4156 posts, or an average of 38 posts per day.

DDC V >>> Open for 101 days, or roughly 3.4 months. 254 pages in length, with an average of 2.51 pages per day. A total of 3797 posts, or an average of 38 posts per day.

DDV VI >>> Open for 116 days, or roughly 3.9 months. 297 pages in length, with an average of 2.46 pages per day. A total of 4447 posts, or an average of 38 posts per day.

Given the relative similarities between III - VI - my guess would be that VII will be open through about the first week of June. Of course we have already burned through nearly 30 pages in 2 days, so depending on how much gets posted per day, it might be closer to early to mid-May.

I am nervous about our upcoming dream cruise because of exactly that. My frugal desire to get the most for my money will be competing directly with my desire to not be round. And this time frugality has bacon and ice cream on its side.

And filet mignon, and roasted chops and lobster and creme brulee and cheese cake and the midnight dessert buffet and…
We’re doomed!!!
:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So tonight I went to our district's annual recognition dinner (Scouting) - a place where lots of different people are recognized for various things. This year we had three honorees from our Troop who were recognized for some great stuff. The two that impressed me the most though, were one individual was recognized for 30 years of service to Scouting as an adult leader. That's very impressive.

BUT...

the even more impressive one, was one individual was recognized for 50 years of service to Scouting as an adult leader! That is so very cool, and so very amazing. Joe is such a cool guy. And such an example for our young men to learn from. He started as an adult leader when he was 35, and here he is today all these years later still active. His son, and grandsons both finished the program many years ago - but he just kept right on going. His wife was active as a leader too for many years til she started to suffer from various physical and mental ailments, and finally died 2 years ago. But there's Joe - still plugging away. Going to Summer Camp each year, and just having a BALL. Such a great example. I only hope that I can continue to be an example to young people if and when I reach my 80's too. But not only is he an example - the boys seek him out! They love to hear him talk about his adventures. A few nights ago he was recognized in our Troop meeting - and several of the Scouts stood up and said, "Mr. Scott is a beast!" Such a cool term of endearment from one generation to another. :)

That is amazing. :thumbsup2 There’s someone that actually deserves to have a monument dedicated to him. Oh wait… 50 years worth of young kids raised to responsible men… He’s already got a monument. :worship:

Stopher how's your Grandma doing:confused3 I hope she is doing well. Mine ended up back in the ER due to some issues at rehab:scared1: Dr's said they should have noticed some things at the rehab place, she's doing alot better now back at the hospital:woohoo: Luckily my grandmothers cousin who is a retired ER, ICU nurse came down to see her a noticed things weren't right, when she got to the ER she was dehydrated and had a touch of pneumonia, Dr said another day her kidney's would have shut down, plus being 90, it could have gotten worse fast:scared1:

Whew... finally caught up reading the new thread.

Really enjoyed the new podcast...

The pic post on facebook seemed to be a success...

Starting final prep work for our Grand Gathering in 23 days!

Need to finish up our CubScout pinewood derby cars between now and then...

Also need to design some t-shirts for our WDW trip.

All that and keep up with this thread!

If it keeps up with 10% of the thread in 2 days, end of March might be more realilistic:lmao:

The DW and I were discussing what the best treats in WDW are. I love the German Roasted Almonds at the entrance of World Showcase. Especially while watching the fireworks.

My favorites include:
MK - Dole Whip Float (Aloha Isle)
HS - Carrot Cake Cookie (The Writer's Stop)
Epcot - Sweet Pretzel (Bakery @ Norway)
AK - Anything cold to drink in the shade :)

When we were down for Food and Wine, I went into the new Karamel Küche in the Germany Pavilion. I tried the caramel popcorn. For the rest of the trip, I continued trying the caramel popcorn. It is to Cracker Jacks as the filet at Le Cellier is to beef jerky. :thumbsup2

Good to know! I will definitely have to get some on my next trip.

Dole Whip float is my favorite, will definately have one in honor of DisDads.

I like the idea of turning on the pedometer at the parks, should be interesting...:cool1:

I love the Turkey Legs at WDW, but oddly enough only the ones at Disney Studios. For some reason those taste better.

At MK, I love the Mickey Ice Cream bars. I know it's just an ice cream sandwich, but it just tastes great.

Epcot, I don't snack a whole lot there. If anything, it's usually something from Patisserie.

At Animal Kingdom, I have no idea why, but the Harambe Fruit Market has some of the freshest fruit I've ever eaten. Maybe it's because AK is always so darn hot and the fruit just hits the spot, but that's a must-have snack for every trip to AK for us.

So I have only just recently joined this site but have been talking about Disney World non stop for the past couple weeks. Today was my wife & I's anniversary, what did she want? A day with no talk about Disney and no looking anything up online about it. Now that it's after midnight I'm back! Yay!!!

i just learned about a year ago how to multi quote.:lmao: i mess that up to. my quotes show up in the middle of the thing.:lmao: i havnt fiqured out yet how to just pull out a line or a word from someones post and quote just that part. i dont go on disdad.com to much because i have a hard time getting around that site.:lmao: we need a disdads for dummies.:lmao: pictures, i need pictures to click on!!!:lmao:poor stopher walked me through the ticker website. briana showed me how to load pics. (which i had to write down so i remember how to do it).

I know, Dave! I think I've actually seen you multi-post. What I do to pull out 1 or 2 lines from a quote is edit the post on my post page. Just highlight what you don't want from the other post and delete it. Just don't delete the
symbols.
Only one week until the first airshow of the 2011 season! David says they're ready. Yesterday, the AF Thunderbirds paid a training visit to the Blues in El Centro. There are good photos on the Blue Angels FB page. Still waiting for them to post a photo with David in it. That'll happen soon, I'm sure. :thumbsup2

True, but time will tell. I thought about it further as I went to bed last night, and figured, yeah, it probably will move faster this time, but who kno - we may hit a dry spell soon. Maybe not. Weekends have tended to be relatively quiet, and with spring on the way and other reasons to get back outside, it is entirely possible. We'll see.

Wow. I hope & pray things turn out well. Good job by her cousin!

My grandmother is stable right now, so I'm told. They moved her yesterday from the hospital to a skilled nursing facility. Still dealing with lots of pain, still not eating very much, but is drinking, so I'm sure they're giving her some nuitrition that way. Still doesn't recognize anyone either.
