You must be from down near my neck of the woods (Racine). We live less than a mile off the lake, so "lake effect" snow is supposed to add another 5" or so on top of all of that.

I'm in southern Kenosha, also about a mile from the lake. They are not giving totals yet but it looks like wed will be the worst.

Where does Phineas & Ferb live where they get 104 days of summer vacation, the kids around here are lucky if they are off by June 21 and they go back like the day after labor day, looking at 75 days tops:confused3

Well the date that they start is june 3rd so there is 18 extra days plus there are those days that they repeat and the ones where they go back in time, so those count right, or do they? :rotfl:

What about the following:

Lard Tunderin' Jeezus, der bye. He took the thingamajig and and put it right down the whoozywasit. It shore was some sight, der bye. Ya shoulda seen it.

Do wha????????????????

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Fed, check out Buddy Wasisname and the Other Fellers. This is good Newfie humor. Warning... Do not have young ears around as it is typically not suitable for younguns.

:confused3 have no clue, I know some parts don't have snow days and may not take off for certain holidays, but it still seems like alot of extra days, when I was a Senior in HS in a Catholic school our last day was May 29, so I guess it's possible:confused3

Has anyone done the Fantasmic Dinner Package, How does it work, I read you can use your DP on it, but are the reserved seats extra or are they included:confused3

We have done it twice, but the last time was about 3 years ago. The VIP seating is included. I do recall being able to use the DP for it. The thing I remember most about it was that we had to eat so darn early. The show was at 8, but our "dinner" reservation was for 3:45. They handed us the VIP card (good for our entire party) when they brought the check. And at that time anyway, we had to show up for the VIP entry about an hour before the show down by the main entrance of the Studios, at the Oscar's Filling Station, which I believe is the stroller rental place, but I could be wrong about what it actually is... the place at the front with the tow truck sitting in front of it.

But again, the last time was about 3 years ago, so it might have changed since then. Hopefully another Dad has more "current" info for you Ron.
Over Christmas week, we had 3:45 dinner for the 6 pm show. Little yellow ticket, no line, it was great! We walked straight from Mama Melrose to the theater, and entered next to stroller parking right in front of the Beauty & the Beast theater. I would assume for the 8:00 show you could mill around outside the theater, since your seats are (i think) guaranteed. We did it (using the DxDDP - one swipe), just so we wouldn't have to wait in line. Mama Melrose was Meh (Flat Bread means thin-crust pizza - lesson learned)
but worth the not had to wait aspect.

Ok here I am in a dilemma....long story .....Ok when I came home from are last trip my wife booked are next trip....and it was all simply, but we forgot to send in the deposit...so are reservation canceled. so we rebook it and let me tell you booking for ten ppl is alote of work it probably takes over an hour every time I call...so we send the money in but never heard anything back form then...so in the beginning of the month my wife wanted to pay off some of the balance....and here we go they never received are money...so it canceled again...so now they are telling her we are off the free dinning plan...and with size party free dining is the way to go....so she was on the phone I guess two hours:lmao:.....worked it all out thank god...so here we go again we go to add deluxe dinning...the lady said it was 1900 and my total jumped higher then I expected to be so I told here that me and my wife have to talk about it...so we did and we called back and the gentlemen told it was 1500 I was like even better...added it.... So we sit there plan all or dinners for three hours...to find out I have to.."HAVE TO" pay 18 percent gratuity...I am all about tipping but trying to be forced to...I was ok we go to a charter meal and cost 300 for hot dogs and french fries and now I have to pay 60 dollars for a tip...or go to a buffet and pay 55 that's is not fitting well in my stomach....so we re-plan everything again for about an hour....for the place we really want to go for dinner.....I mean I might sound a little up tight but if you add those kinds of tips up for my trip I will be paying about 1700 out in tips...so all said down we where off to bed when a lady called and said the messed up are cost he ran us as using the mid pack edge...and she said we would have to pay 3000 for dd dinning...I nearly s... myself....so we were both back and forth saying your wrong,,,so she and my wife start adding the cost up... my wife came to 1900....she came back a would not stop saying she was sorry she muffed up....and for are inconvenience we got VIP passes to see eliminations sounds good right...I guess for dealing with them for so many hours...I literally can say I probably talked to the same ppl at least twice.....So here I am do you think it is worth the money to up grade to deluxe dinning or just sit back for some free food>>> sorry for the rant and raving.

Especially with a group your size, I don't really see how the deluxe dining plan can possibly be a good value. Not only are you killing yourself with tips, but the real killer is TIME. You've probably got to figure at least 2 hours for a table service meal for twelve - drink orders alone are going to take 15 minutes. ADR seating is also going to be challenging, because to seat a group that large, it probably requires that several smaller parties leave. So you probably have to expect a somewhat longer wait after ADR check-in. Three table service meals, at two hours per meal plus a 30-minute wait to be seated means spending a minimum of 6 1/2 hours/day in restaurants. Do you really want to give up that much touring time?

Meanwhile, if you want an extra table service meal or two, you can probably pay for those two meals out of pocket for less money than the DxDP upgrade for every member of the party for every day.
DxDDP takes TONS of time. We were a group of 9, and our whole trip was spent in restaurants, between getting there, waiting to get seated (even with ADR's), food and dessert, it was 2 hrs per meal. We though maybe 90 minutes per, and that extra 30 min makes a HUGE deal when dealing with a 7,6,3,3 yr olds, and 2 60 yr olds. (love you mom & dad!) Also, we skipped probably 4 ADR meals b/c we were still full from the previous meal.

I won't mind if it is snow... but they are calling for a lot of ice. This could get ugly here fast.:sad2:

I see ugly every morning when I look into the mirror!
(but the sleet/ice/snow is hitting STL now)

Hey Fed... Duh-Huh!

Unc Scrooge I agree with the DxDDP taking to much time. We ended up cancelling our last days woth of ADR's becuase we just wanted to play and sleep in. It seemed like we were ALWAYS sitting down for a meal. All the activities were planned around the meals, it sucked. We will never do the Deluxe again. Its to much food and to much time wasted. And we had over 20 snack credits wasted at the end of the trip.

-31 wind chill WTB (What The Beverley)???? You know...man wasnt designed for this kind of mutha peanututtering coldness. And what kind of JACKWAGON keeps a business open for their slothful servants to have to commute to? :confused3

WOOOHOOO!!!! No work today.

Just wish they would have made that decision before I spent 40 min making my usual 10 min drive and sliding off the road twice.:headache: Once I slid down the banking while going around a curve, and the other time the truck slid sideways while stopped at a stop sign... on the bright side, the ditch actually provided much better traction than the road. I considered just keeping it down there.

Oh well, back home safe now and looks like I won't have to go in tomorrow either. I'd happily trade places with you guys farther north/east who are getting the snow. All we have is ice right now and will have probably 2" of ice before we get about 3" snow tomorrow night. I'd happily take 20"+ of snow over any amount of ice any time.

Work canceled today for me (first by my DW:lmao:, THEN the company:thumbsup2).
I've got nothing to do except hang out on the internet, maybe play guitar, maybe spend time with my children, Epic Mickey... Who knows.

i COULD start on my Trip Report, but I'm not going to... I still (STILL) can't get pics from flickr to show on the disboards.

I'm working from home today, and will do so tomorrow as well. No need to go out in that ice in the first place. Funny thing is that I was already planning on working from home today and tomorrow anyway... so the storm just kind of fit in with my existing plans. :)

-31...I'm sorry, that's just ridiculous...

Please please PLEASE keep that kind of weather where it belongs....

As far away from me as possible

:rotfl2:

6.5" of the white stuff on the ground already with another 2-3" expected, and that's Storm #1. Storm #2 (the one hitting all of you in the Midwest) is supposed to start sometime tonight dropping another 6-10" of snow/ice.:scared1: I'm glad I used the snow-rake to get most of the 2ft off my porch/garage last night. Work is a must tomorrow, we're half way through a two week test and need to grab two samples tomorrow or else the data is useless. What's the word I'm looking for? Oh yeah, peanutbutter.

I usually love the snow, but even I'm ready to cry "uncle".

Well, everyone talking of their weather makes me want to brag! I can see the grass...brown as it is...the snow is gone!! The next storm coming will only leave us rain...and the sun is shining now...WoooHooo:cool1:
