Thanks for keeping that on your side of the state. Over here, north of the STL is going to be bad, but now my part of town is predicting for less than 4 inches of snow (but it's still on top of 1/2 inche of ice and an inch of sleet). It's so bad a local grocery store chain (Schnucks) is closing their 24 hour stores at 9 p.m. reopening at 8 a.m....

Southern wisconsin, they are talking 20+inches and we are getting 55 mph gusts and I have to call in at 8am to see if I am going into work!!!!!! Ya right can we say NO WAY
Oh did I mention that I work an hour from home on a good day.

Well the snow we "could" have gotten never came We did have school delayed openings today, since it was alittle icey, I just drove home it was alittle slick in spots, from the little bit of rain we got today, more rain to come tomorrow, so they say

You guys that got the ice storm, I feel for you it's a real PITA to deal with At least snow you can remove quite easy.

Snowmagedon Update: So far we got about 4" and still coming. The weather girl just said that its still on track to drop 15-20" on us by tomorrow. I will agree that I don't mind dealing with 20" of snow especially considering the alternative of ice that some are getting.

FreezinRafiki: Wanted to pass on some thoughts and prayers for you Bambi and the family. Let Bambi know we pass on our condolences for losing her grandfather.

Work: I left the office early today to get home in front of the storm and we are instituting a work from home day tomorrow. Anyone who has access to work from home is encouraged to do so. Our team all has remote access so it shouldn't be too much of an impact.

Shoveling Tip - If the snow is the wet packy kind, spray some Pam on the shovel it will keep the snow from sticking to the shovel for alittle while

4 inches of snow today which ended about 2-3pm, freezing drizzle all afternoon, sleet now. We are in an Ice Storm Warning. It is gonna be ugly tomorrow.

The school my wife works at just called with a 2 hour delayed opening besides the driveway being alittle slick, we got nothing so far, maybe somethings coming tonight, at least I won't have to burn a sick day since I'm off tommorrow (I like to use my sick days to go somewhere, I go to work if I'm sick)

It was unopened for the picture but has since been resolved.

The t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops were DW's conditions to get her outside to take the picture.

So far we've got somewhere around 5-6" but are still expecting another foot or so tonight. Should be interesting tomorrow.

Our county, and several others around us, are now under a Travel Warning - nobody on the roads but emergency personnel.

We have about 3" of solid ice on our driveway, and the snow in the yard is covered up hard too. Beautiful to look at and some very cool ice formations out there - but wowwee is it ever treacherous. I about fell over when I was coming back inside from my little photo op.

On a funny note, A friend of mine who has a farm, told me that all the snow fell off his barn and crushed his shed His shed is not that small and houses his tractor he said the tractor is OK but it will take awhile to get to it I couldn't help but laugh when he told me this, he's 81 and really doesn't care anymore shaking his head, I did offer to help him knock down the rest of the shed to get the tractor out

I can respect that, my wife would probably do the same, anything to torture the husband, They live for that kind of stuff
