Hey, I just want to post a little reminder here. If anyone made a New Year's resolution to diet/work out, stop by the DIS Dad's W.I.S.H. Journal. It was set up a few months ago, but has been pretty quiet since December. I know a lot of the guys who posted there had taken some trips to the World, but it is time to get back on track... especially if Mark is trying to bring about plagues by working out now.

Update: Our son has passed all of his major tests and has his Crew Chief Review Board today! If that goes well, he could be "crested" within a week or two. He can now run the engines of the F/A-18 and do the launches/recoveries without supervision. It looks like he'll be the Crew Chief for the "The Boss", the Blues' CO, come air show season in March! Hooyah!

YEAH BUDDY!!! Talked the wife into a cruise/wdw vacation ADULTS ONLY vacation for her birthday. Got to book next week to sail on the Dream. Sail date OCT6 or the 13th still hammering it out.
Never been on a cruise so we figured we should do it right and go DCL.

I get to work from the house today because someone mistakenly shipped a whole bunch of frozen water crystals down to latitudes where they don’t really belong. The farther south you go the worse it is (somehow that seems kind’a bass-akwards). But on the up side, it should change into sleet in a couple of hours and then it will get really interesting.

A bit about myself, I'm a minor radio personality (aka "disk jockey") from Northeastern WI. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but I'm also a sucker for Disney. I have a 3 year old daughter, who people are convinced is beautiful despite her resemblance to me (but she certainly is, so I must have done something right). DW is a preschool teacher who is bubblier than any Disney character out there and a self professed Princess fanatic (with a Villain-fancying dark side). We've got two female cats, Autumn and Maude, and I'm fairly certain DD's fish and snail are females too. I'm awash in estrogen, so it's good to talk Disney with other dudes. (And none too soon, I've been caught tearing up watching the Travel Channel special about Disney at Christmastime).

We're looking forward to our trip to WDW in a few weeks, it will be DW and my first trip since 2004, and DD's first trip ever.

And for everyone else - CRUD. I've been busier than a one legged man in an @$$ kicking contest. Got a few pretty major home remodeling projects going on. Had to rip out a bunch of drywall in the master closet to fix a leaky pipe. While that's going on, DW decides we need to remodel the master bathroom - new sink/vanity/mirror/lights/floor/tub & shower fixtures. Oh, and we ordered new carpet for the master bedroom and DS's room. We have a few more projects to take care of then we plan to put the house up for sale. It's certainly not a seller's market, but we bought the house as a "starter" home, and we've outgrown it.

I’m with Fed. I our neck of the woods, a storm like the current predictions will shut down everything, but I too will believe it only when I see it.

As for snowplows in GA, I can’t say, but in SC, there as rare as hen’s teeth. Generally there not worth the investment to the local townships so we usually just wait the couple of hours that it takes for the stuff to melt. In severe cases, they'll send out motor-graders to clear a path for the major thoroughfares. The neighborhoods and side street are pretty much on their own.

The fun is watching the locals run around in preparation for the “Snow Event”. They also invade the various retailers. The optimistic ones run out and try to find sleds. But most invade and empty the grocery stores of the staples (which down this far is also referred to as “the three Bs”… Bread, Beer and Batteries)

Coming from the "Great Frozen North" it never fails to amaze me the sheer panic that hits NC when the S word is mentioned. We cancel school on a 50% chance of snow! If they did that back home i'd still be in sixth grade!

About 5 years ago the city spent tens of thousands of dollars on reflective markers on the roads, not the kind that are recessed into the road, the little bump ones that stick up. That winter we had two inches of snow, apparently no one told the plows about the roadwork because they set the plow blades as low as they could and once the snow melted every corner had a pile of reflectors.

well, just had my reroot canal done today. not bad, alot of drilling to get the post out. so far everything is going good. i have to go back next wednesday for her to finish it. it was infected pretty good so she packed it with a mdicated something or other.

Hey, Dave, you may be joking but..........the Blues had a post on their FB page a couple months back asking for their fans to recommend people for rides! Too bad they are usually looking for celebrities like actors, sports figures, politicians, etc.
