Just got a call from my daughters band teacher and her band camp for this summer has been moved up to the first to weeks in Aug instead of the last two weeks in Aug. Guess what weeks we planned our Disney trip? Yep you got it we planned it for the first two weeks to work around band camp. Now we are going to move our trip back to the last two weeks .This move will cost us a little extra as my daughter AP runs out the second week.( we worked it out when she went last Aug that she would be able to use it for this trip, not now)Oh well I guess her two trips got our money worth, but three trip woud have been better lol.
Sorry Steve looks like we will miss you now, another last day meet could be instore for us lol.
There is still a slight chance we move the trip up to July but with baseball that will be tight.Anyone ever in the house of the mouse for 4th of july??? any info on crowds ect would help.

I worked a grocery store in High School & some in College and always loved the snow buyers. KY has had some big snowfalls, but few in comparison to other areas. But, when snow was announced, it was busy and people would fight over milk & bread. I had a manual transmission truck, which was a lot of fun to drive & slide in the snow. Ahhh, the memories ...

I get to watch the snow buyers all day long, You would think it was the end of the world or something:scared1: Some buy enough stuff to last weeks (OK you might be trapped for 3 days here:rolleyes1) I still can't figure out when it's so cold out why I sell a ton of Ice Cream:confused3 The frozen section gets hit hard, I guess if the lights go out you can always keep it in the snow:laughing:

Just got some bad news about my dad's cancer. I'm not an oncologist, but i know that if they're starting you on a drug that hasn't even been named yet, then that's not a good sign.

So, I invited him & his wifeto join us on our April trip, thinking that this may be the last time he could do that. They agreed and I couldn't believe how blessed I was to be able to change 3 nights of dining reservations from 5 to 7 people (with only minor shuffling)

But now he just called. They can't come the dates he wanted, so now I have to try to change them back & try to reschedule for later that week!!!! After I finish banging my head against this wall, I'm going to try the site again. wish me luck...

Sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope you can get the days that work for everyone:woohoo:

Carl, I was going this week to book our August trip, after fishing around to see what week I could get off, my boss told me to book August 21-27, so while I have a OK as of now, I'm booking the trip this Wed (unless it snows:scared1:) to make it official.:goodvibes

I'm hoping I can add a ticker this week

Colin will be at WDW, August 25 and maybe the 26th after his DC:cool1:

Thanks, guys! I appreciate the good thoughts!

Fortunately, we're there for a week, & they can come the last weekend (instead of the first). Had to rely on the on-line site & the dreaded phone (all during the Eagles game!), but I was able to change around our dining reservations & book them a room in the adjacent Contemporary.

The funniest thing about this is that my dad asked, it's not a big deal to change things around is it? (no, dad, not during the busiest week of the year/Easter week, should be no problem)

So, looks like we should have a nice trip, but the schedule now is 2 colors now! My wife thinks that posting about the 2 colors will open me up to ridicule, but I think that if anyone can appreciate that Commando scheduling, you guys can!

Hi Guys-

I'm making the first trip to Disneyworld in March and I have found the DIS Dad's Club VI to be an invaluable resource. Will be bring my three daughters and can't wait. My new favorite hobby, aside from watching football, is planning this vacation. I looked at the membership criteria on page 1 and it sure seems like I am a fit. Hopefully you have room for a new member.

Thanks for the welcome!

it's good to talk Disney with other dudes. (And none too soon, I've been caught tearing up watching the Travel Channel special about Disney at Christmastime).

We're looking forward to our trip to WDW in a few weeks, it will be DW and my first trip since 2004, and DD's first trip ever.

TL
welcome to the club. we just got back from WDW so we could do the holiday lights. The crowd was insane, but the lights were amazing. That's actually the 2nd time travel channel caused me to take a disney vacation.

Oh my lord, I’ve reached post 500! That’s like, half a milestone or something (so I’ve observed). This is the part of the program where I ought to say something thoughtful about being part of the group, but that’s all been said in the past (and by considerably better writers then myself), so with that in mind I’d like to ask the great Groucho Marx to speak on my behalf as say: “I have a mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it.”

He also famously remarked on a colleague’s book offering (and I think it applies equaly to this thread as well): “From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend reading it.”

Thanks for letting me ride along. :worship:

Welcome!

Update: Our son has passed all of his major tests and has his Crew Chief Review Board today! If that goes well, he could be "crested" within a week or two. He can now run the engines of the F/A-18 and do the launches/recoveries without supervision. It looks like he'll be the Crew Chief for the "The Boss", the Blues' CO, come air show season in March! Hooyah! :thumbsup2

Really sorry to hear about your father. You guys hang in there. Hope that you get things worked out for your trip.

Rental and trenner: I was in both of your areas this past week and didn't even know it until now. Rental, I stayed at the Radisson hotel off of exit 280 this past Thursday night. When we were driving around, I saw a mileage sign that said Morrisville - X miles (can't remember the miles, but it wasn't many). I couldn't remember who had the Morrisville tag below their name, but came back and saw that it was you. Trenner, I was in Greeneville Saturday night for soccer tournament on Sunday at Tusculum college. We came up 26 and got off of the Jonesborough exit and looped into Greeneville that way because we were wary of the snow in the other directions that we had. When we turned onto hwy 107, we went past a field and there was a sign that said "Corn Maze" on it. Immediately thought of you, but once again, I didn't place your name with Jonesborough for some reason. Would have loved to had the chance to meet up with both of you. If I'm around your part of the world again, I'll send you a PM and maybe we can meet up.

AND, it's snowing like a big dog here. You know it's gonna be bad when they cancel school on Sunday evening and it hasn't even started snowing....... Hope that everyone has a great Monday.
