i didnt realy want to come home either. this is the week of reality for us. dw has a dr. apoint. in philly on wednesday. read her mri to see if the radiation worked or not. i have to get a tooth re root canaled through my gums, im glad it held together for two weeks while we were gone. both our works are going to be busy, finish up christmas shopping. sat, night we have the family get together (my side). i think that was it.

glad you made it back home carl. we have a sleep number king at home. the beds are nice at okw but not that nice. started working on june trip today. have our adrs fiqured out and what days we are doing what. dd wants to do the (as i call it ) the lou/al at the poly in june. and the keys to the kingdom tour again.

So DW and I were reviewing holiday cards and I was thinking that it would be nice to exchange cards with the Dis Dads. I know we all have different beliefs/traditions so I thought I'd do it this way... if you would like to exchange cards, provide your mailing address to me in a Private Message. I'll compile the list and reply to those who provide mailing details. If you do not want to partake, please ignore me.

So given the time of year etc. I'll accept mailing address details upto Wednesday Dec. 15. After that I'll compile all addresses and respond on Friday with the complete list to all participants.

im in june. dd grad. present than dw and i are going back down in october. that will be in a one bedroom at okw in october. im getting three trips out of these aps. than god willing it will be every jan and sept. after that.ive never been in sept. and i hear its still hot and the place is empty.

Jeez- how many DVC points do you have? You're living the dream!! By the way, I appreciate the effort you made in trying to meet with me. But I had two things working against me. 1) I just couldn't hear/feel my phone when a text came in and 2) we had a lot of Disney-goodness to cram in to our week that didn't allow for much flexibility. I was really bummed to not make the ice cream meet on 12/4.

no problem, it is hard getting to meet up in that place. well, i cant take credit for the points. dw talked me into 400 in 1999. it was 58 bucks a point than and i thought dw was nuts!!! once again, she was right. now there twice as much and there paid for for. but like i said, that was dw not me. i thank her every trip for not listening to me.

Not sure if I can keep up with them but I will certainly give it a try! I'm hoping that years of experience will overcome the power of youth...

Quick update:

Got back from the world on 11/27 - Wife had a stroke on 11/28 sometime in the morning. These are not abnormal for us but her losing 7 years of memories is. We've been getting things back in order since then while she recovers. So far she has recovered her memories up to about a year ago and is still working on this last year. She still doesn't remember our trip to Disney. No, that doesn't mean I get a free trip back so I can remind her.

Prayers for your wife and for you.

Since I'm not the kind of guy who likes to beat around the bush, here's my best shot, I think, ever:

Thank you all for the prayers. This is something we've lived with for a while but the memory loss always makes things hard on us. It just takes time, patience, and faith.

Ian, I've been meaning to check in with you about her. We're praying for her recovery and for you and the kids to have the patience and grace to help her.

You have some absolutely amazing shots in there. Besides this one, I like the castle and Everest at night. I might have to dig out my wallet here...

FYI: I kept the dream alive and watched other people do ToT over and over. Those people are suckers. More power to them.

Being at the Boardwalk, the Swan was on our bus route. Everytime we stopped there my wife and I were looking for Jim Hendry (GM of Cubs). If I had the chance I would have let him know how badly we need to unload Soriano, Ramirez, and Zambrano- but with those salaries, I'd say we're stuck with them. Don't complain about the Phillies- you added Ryne Sandberg to the organization. THAT is a gut-wrenching development for a guy like me who grew up watching the best second baseman of that era.

Oh, I'm not complaining. When I saw the terms of Werth's contract, I was glad the Phils didn't re-sign him at that price.

And I'm intrigued with Sandberg joining the org. Seems like he did everything the Cubs asked of him, did an excellent job as a manager, and they gave him the shaft anyway.

Relatively light, only about 4 or 5 inches. It's beautiful, but cold. No shorts on this trip!
