Two nights each month our family goes out at closing time and picks up the left over baked goods from Panera Bread and Paradise Bakery to deliver to our church's Food Pantry (better than it all just going into the trash - and other families cover the other nights)... anyway - it was Paradise Bakery last night, out at the outdoor mall in our area - and it, the mall, was COVERED in lights, garlands and the great big tree in the food court area. As I was leaving our neighborhood to drive on over there, I passed a funny sight - a house on one side of the street was all lit up for Christmas, and one on the other side was still decorated and lit up with orange lights for Halloween.
Very cool there Nate!
So which one was you?![]()
well, i made the comment this morning there may be a problem with our december trip. dd, who is a sen. in high school, takes an honors english class. well, as you can tell, i wouldnt make it 5 seconds in that class.its all reading and writting papers and yuk!!! this class moves and moves fast. my dd got a 58 on a paper. it tore this kid apart.
we had a meeting today with her teacher. the teacher, who many kids have a hard time getting along with. your typical english teacher as far as speaking, writing etc...
(theres some on the dis.)
told dd there is no way your staying home from this trip!!!she told dd she was one of the hardest working kids she has ever had and allowed her to rewrite the paper and she will do anything to help while we are gone. dd is going to write a paper and keep up in class via email with the teacher. the teacher said she has never done this for anyone and will never do it again, and said this kid earned it. this teacher is as tuff as nails man, i think she was a marine corp. drill instructor before becoming a teacher. so, the three of us will be at wdw!!!!! i felt so bad for dd, i made the kid cry. it seems i never told the kid how proud i was of her with her school work. (dance, work, other things etc...) but other than me saying good job on the report cards, i never said to her how proud i was and on came the tears!!! the teachers crying, the guid. couns. crying dw is crying and im like, what did i say???
anyway, we will all be there!!

Well, our family just got finished watching Toy Story 3. We had not seen it until now. Great movie. Funny thing, though, is that everyone's allergies started bothering them at exactly the same time. Weird.
A day of Christmas shopping done. Today, went clothes shopping with DW for the children. What a fun experience. Santa is bringing American Girl doll/ matching clothes for youngest and a desk/chair for oldest. Oldest (8) came home and said that her classmates (3rd grade) were saying there was no Santa. The age of innocence is coming to an end ...
