Howdy and welcome…
I believe that you’ll fit in well around here. Emma’s Dad will be along in a while to make it official and hand out that coveted DDC number.

I actually already received it, but from the time I checked my PM to the time I posted here several pages had already been filled. He actually posted my info in post #33 of this thread. :)

Guitars are a major weakness of mine as well. What kind of picking is your DS into?

He is just starting. He has visions of grandeur in becoming a rock star. He has had a few lessons, but I feel he is not making the time to practice to get much out of it right now. So for now we have the real electric guitar and amp in the corner of the media room while we play the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games on the big screen. :rotfl: The only picking he is doing now is his nose and his new Paper Jamz guitar. :rotfl2:

BTW: We’re also booked on the Dream in this coming June. :sail:
Which week are you folks scheduled to be aboard?

We are going on the 4-day on June 3rd. You?

?
Whoops! Not paying attention (a common problem according to my DW :rotfl:)
You’d think it would occur to me that I should read a fellow’s sig more thoroughly before making assumptions, now wouldn’t ya’?

I’m delusional myself,:rolleyes1 but I still love playing. Your young’n sounds a lot like mine. If he’d spend an eighth of the time he’s put into Guitar Hero, on an actual six string, he be very good by now. :sad2: But, in his defense, he is quite musical, and does put in the time on his horn and tinkers with the piano a good bit. :thumbsup2

We’re going to miss each other this time around. We’re booked on the Dream at the end of June. A five-day double-dip leaving on the 26th

I am trying to talk my better half into a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the new Disney Fantasy on June 2, 2012. (My DS birthday is June 9th.) Maybe we can meet up then? :teeth:

Tempting I must say, but we’re thinking more along the lines of a seven-day Eastern in the summer of 2013 (to celebrate our boys graduation… hopefully).

Actually I believe that Steve (GoHerd1028) is planning to head out on the Fantasy in June of 2012 (the 16th I think, but I ain’t certain).

Fantastic memory there Rob!!!:cool1:

I recieved the Documents from Debbie last night, WoW it's like 20pgs longer then last year, A lot of new stuff added, I got some serious reading to do:scared1: :goodvibes

Just checking in...lol. I'm finding that our 5 week old is really dictating the terms of the free time these days. If we do have some, it's more often spent catching up on the zzz's than anything else. Wait, wah...bills? Honey, have you paid the bills recently? No dear, that's your job. doh!
One the plus side, we just booked our next trip to the world. we'll be there the 8th thru the 12th staying a BLT. It's our 1st anniversay trip, and should be cool. I've not stayed at a "monorail" resort since my mom bought into DVC back in the early 90's.
Oops...I here it calling now...blimey, she just ate 3 hours ago...again!!??!! :rotfl:

Just checking in... to say we just bought our Christmas Town tickets for BGW. I know there are a couple new folks... I'll get your numbers soon enough... for now, I need to tend to some husbandly duties. :cool2:

just checking in. i know, everyone is missing my pictures.:lmao: welcome new dads!!! nice pics stopher, my aunt had one of the aluminum foil trees that was on a spinning platform and had 3, colored spot lights under it that blinked on and off. i love the 70s pic, the old floor model stereo and curtains and carpeting. im sounding like my dad but those were the days! ive been busy the last few days and it looks like its getting worse.:lmao: i havnt done anymore christmas decorating but ill post some pics when im done, hopefully this weekend. :lmao: may have some bad news about our up coming trip to wdw but were working on it.:sad1: hopefully things work out.:thumbsup2 talk to you guys later!!!

Hey everyone. I am loving this and am glad I stumbled onto the Dis Dads Club and look forward to joining in on the conversations.

Hoping to meet some of you in Dec as I'm heading down with DD Dec 8 - 12th.

Colin

Gentlemen.....(oh wait I almost choked on that one), this may have been asked here before but 15 Disdad rooms ago...I was wondering what kind of shoes do you wear at WDW. I am a "heavier" guy and need a good shoe to be in all day long. I figured this had nothing to do with bra sizes so it would be ok.
Ok...Commence the ribbing if necessary....

As someone who runs a lot, I usually keep about 3 pairs of running shoes "going" at any one time. At WDW, I usually take my most used pair of shoes for our time there. [shameless advice] I would go to a running store, if you have one locally, and let the folks there watch you walk. At my local store, they ask me to take off my shoes and socks and roll up my pants legs, then I walk from one side of the store to the other. They watch how my feet strike the floor and how my feet and ankles roll. They will then put you in a shoe that will support your walk. They'll also ask you a lot of questions about your feet (or should, my folks usually do) in case you have any problems or special needs [shameless advice]. For me, though, as important as shoes are the socks. Not cotton, but a quick dry/dry fit kind in case my feet get wet. I've gotten soaked from head to toe on KRR and my feet were dry fairly quickly.

Now, as for Christmas, my wife has "asked" me to get the Christmas stuff down, which I have done, but it's not up yet, thank goodness. I was running in town on Monday while DD was at dance class and saw my first Christmas tree of the season.:scared1:

To those of you have served, are serving or have sons or daughters serving our country, THANK YOU!!!
Happy Veterans Day!!!

Two nights each month our family goes out at closing time and picks up the left over baked goods from Panera Bread and Paradise Bakery to deliver to our church's Food Pantry (better than it all just going into the trash - and other families cover the other nights)... anyway - it was Paradise Bakery last night, out at the outdoor mall in our area - and it, the mall, was COVERED in lights, garlands and the great big tree in the food court area. As I was leaving our neighborhood to drive on over there, I passed a funny sight - a house on one side of the street was all lit up for Christmas, and one on the other side was still decorated and lit up with orange lights for Halloween.

Wow... what a conflict. Guess we're just skipping Thanksgiving this year???

I live out in the country and about 3-4 miles away from me, there's a guy that has about 100 of those inflatable light up Christmas decorations that he puts out in his yard each year. When he gets them up and turned on you can see it from quite a distance away. Now I love Christmas decorations as much as anybody, but his yard always looks pretty trashy with these decorations up. He used to do some really interesting, original decorating with lights on tractors and things like that which was cool, but then he basically got rid of all the string lights and just uses the inflatable things. Now the inflatable decorations aren't where my problem lies... it is the fact that he has more than I can count, has multiples of the same ones and sets them up in a grid pattern similar to a cemetary.

Anyway, I went by his house Sunday evening just after the sun went down and he had his pickup truck out in the yard with the headlights on setting those things up. :sad2:
