Things here are slowly getting back to normal. Shari is progressing VERY well and will be cleared to drive on her Dr visit on Thursday but she is still off for a few more weeks. That will give her time to feel like a stay at home Mommy for a while.

I have been fighting a horrible cough the last several days and called to see if the doc would call me in some sort of meds for it so I could rest at night. Well, they wanted to see me...yeah just to get my co pay I muttered to myself...turns out I have pneumonia...can you freakin believe it??? I am off work the next few days myself not to rest up and get over this crud!! PeanutButter!!!!

Aaron it sounds like you guys are having a good time and I have been checking out the pictures on FB each day. December will be here soon enough I guess but I can hardly wait!! Congrats on your fantasy football win...I thought I had beat Mark until I checked the scores this morning and he come from behind to hand me my second loss of the season.

More sad news, guys. Just over a week after my mom passes way, her mom passed away. I'm now 32 and have no parents or grandparents left. Of course I have my own wonderful wife and children, but it's still a lonely feeling.
My grandma was in failing health for the past few years, and the dementia really starting hitting hard in the last year. In fact, we didn't even tell her about my mom's death, fearing it would just confuse her. So I'm sure she approached the gates of heaven, saw my mom already there, and asked "What the Peanut Butter are you doing here?"

(It's tough times like these that if you don't have some kind of sense of humor, you'll drive yourself totally insane with grief.)

I'm so sorry Barry. Your family is still in my prayers.

Glad to hear everything went well & Shari is OK.

I'm in the same boat with you on the cough, Doc said I was borderline pneumonia, hey you gotta like the meds though (they sould give you a teaspoon full before getting on It's A Small World):lmao:

Thanks again everyone for the well wishes. It's been quite roller coaster around here.
A span of 5 weeks we've had my nephew's wedding, funerals for both my mom and grandma (this weekend), having a $700 alternator replacement on my van work for exactly 1 day and then having to do it again (no charge the time), all culminating with a week and and half visit from DW's parents and a weekend in Chicago to celebrate my kids' birthdays. (DD turns 6 on the 15th, DS turns 4 on the 16th). We're planning on the Museum of Science and Industry on Saturday, then a Milwaukee Admirals vs Chicago Wolves hockey game Saturday night. Sunday we will try to visit the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and a trip up to Big Willy's SkyDeck (Willis Tower, formerly the Sears Tower.)
All that, plus a DisDad's Meet! Middlepat has tickets to the same game, one section over! :thumbsup2 It's going to be Legen - wait for it - dairy! (Well, no actual dairy, since one of Middlepat's DDs has food allergies, but still, it's going to be epic!)

We got more done on Friday afternoon at Wizarding World of Harry Potter than expected. We got in the hot, unshaded, long line for Ollivander's Wand Shop first thing. DW masterfully got The Bug into her Hogwarts robes just before it was our turn to go in, and following advice I'd read elsewhere here on the boards, I got her positioned right in front of the shopkeeper. Sure enough, she got to participate in the show, and her wand picked her. We also rode Flight of the Hippogriff (our first experience with Express Pass - very cool) and Forbidden Journey, did some shopping and got dinner at the 3 Broomsticks.

It sounds like you got through everything at WWHP in a day, is that correct? We hare planning on going on the day that we move from OKW to AKV in December. I want to make sure that I'm allocating enough time. How were the crowds?

Did you have to book a ressie for the 3 Broomsticks?

Marty
(Currently in 3rd place for the DIS DAD's Pick Em)

Where's FED ? :confused3

Is he at WDW yet???

Nope...two weeks:cool1::cool1:

However, the fish have been ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slayed them on Toho and Lake Orange the past few days....

Heading out tomorrow in my little john boat to a pond at Kings Bay Naval Base which has been known to give up some MONSTERS!!!

AJ---looks like yer havin' fun!!

Barry, sorry for your loss man...

The trip itself is going great.
The surprise went perfectly. I've got video, but we left the Flip at home, so I won't be able to post video until later.

Glad you guys are having fun and that the surprise worked! :thumbsup2

Man, that really is a roller coaster. Take notes on Chicago for me!--I'm still researching stuff for next year's trip. It sounds like a great weekend.

I recommend taking an airhorn to blare nice and loud at the game so Middlepat can find you... :rotfl2:
