If you are looking for movies with really dark endings, then you need to see The Mist. It’s based on the Steven King novel of the same name, and is one of the darkest endings I've ever seen. I had never read the book, but always wanted to, so when the movie came out, I saw it, and felt so awful after.
Requiem for a Dream is another one. Both of these are incredibly dark, but for very different reasons.

Holy Cow...the Mist Ending was disturbing:guilty:

Repo Men (we got the Bootleg version) was DARK too...:scared1:

badaba badaba badaba badaba
*Horn Blares*

speaking of running gags

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Disturbing is a much better description than the word "dark". It elicited some pretty strong feelings/emotions to the extent that I was actually angry that I watched the movie.

All of us looked at each other (watched in Iraq in 2008--my son was a baby and the other guys had kids) and were like--well, wasn't that up lifting..:sad2:

It took a little sleuthing on our part. Luckily, she had the "KY" in her username, so we went through the Dis Dads state list that Steve started to find the guys in KY, then matched up the vacation dates in you siggies. That should qualify me for CSI or NCIS:

If that whole IT thing doesn't work out, it's a good career move.

There’s something about girls that drives them to directly confront their mothers and purposely pick the largest fight possible (My DW did that same thing as did her sister), but they always seem to patch everything up in their twenty’s and usually end up becoming inseparable buddies and allies against the rest of the world. But the trip to that place is a long and hard road.

Mine started fighting at ages 4 & 6 and haven't stopped yet. (It's only been 2 years.) We tried a bunk bed in one bedroom, but that did not work either.

You mean she was happy for two?:confused3:lmao:

I'm good for a few minutes every now and then.

I hope I dont get kicked off this thread for this but Im going to suggest a book to read to all the Dads with daughters. No it doesnt have pictures but the author typed it slowly becuase he knew Dads cant read fast. It's call Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters. Great book! Will help you understand the Mom/ daughter relationship and yours as well.

By Margaret Meeker. It is a very good book.

I work pretty closely with Chrysler and they are having their Dealer Announcement Show pretty soon.
The good news: it's in Orlando!:cool1:
Bad news: I'm away for three days during DD's first full week of kindergarten.:guilty:
Good news: We get discounted theme park tickets!:woohoo:
Bad news: The tickets are for Universal, not Disney.:headache:

I don't think I'll buy the tickets even with the discount. I'll have plenty of time on my arrival day to goof off so I think I'll just get in a cab and chill out at a resort. Maybe Grand Floridian or AKL.
Ugh...Even if the Universal Tickets were free I have to think it over. Depending on when you're down there, I'd head over to Fort Wilderness. Wander around there checking out how everyone had their campsites decorated for Halloween.

I haven't seen the movie, so I had to Wikipedia it since y'all were talking about it so much. Let's just say I'm quite glad I never saw it. :guilty:

(By the way - was that the correct usage of "y'all"? Being from up north, it's hard to tell exactly where in the sentence it's supposed to go :confused3 :rotfl2:)

Rock Hill!!! That’s the largest city down here in my little ‘ol county (I went to the “other” school in town and RHHS was our arch nemesis way back when). They’re one of the tougher HS ball teams down this way. When I first read the post, I thought: “Wait a minute, they beat our kids by eight points last night and why the heck would you even consider making that drive anyway”. Followed immediately by “What the heck am I thinking, he can’t be talking about the same school”. I certainly didn’t realize there was more then one Rock Hill. Live and learn. Well I hope your kids do well tonight. Our boys will have to regroup after a tough loss to the other Rock Hill High and try to get back into the win column next week.

Good job! Now, being that I'm originally from Ohio, I can also translate that to include the use of "you'ins" instead of ya'll.

Glad to hear all went well! Of course, I'm surprised to hear they had the Pink Floyd laser light show en lieu of the more popular Jimmy Buffet relaxing atmosphere! :lmao:

Yep Rock Hill High School...in Ironton, Ohio LOL......Shari graduated from there and we went to watch a few kids from church play football...total blowout in the first half so we left early and headed home. So, that is two major losses in two night...first Marshall..and now RockHill...Uuuugh...Next week MU plays WVU in Huntington...maybe things will be different....naaa I doubt it LOL

Glad to hear everything went well, hope for a speedy recovery, and that the whole ordeal is finished never to return:goodvibes

Who would have guessed that when you planned the Dec trip, it might be the most perfectly timed trip ever:cool1: I'm sure you guys will enjoy it that much more after all you've been through:goodvibes

Ugh.
Rough evening with the kids. Awful behavior from both of them, pretty much all evening. One thing after another. Brats killed my Disney buzz.

I think we had them both calmed down and reigned back in by bedtime (though I'm not sure about Squeaker - as I headed downstairs to the computer, I heard DW threatening that Kota the Dinosaur was being relocated permanently to the basement if he touched it again - he was supposed to be in bed sleeping). I really hope their attitudes turn around by tomorrow morning, otherwise this could be a loooooooooooooooong holiday weekend.
