What a terrific day! Today, I have been married for 10 years (happily for 2).:lmao:, booked a Spring Break week trip at the Boardwalk, and now page ownage. Time to go buy a lottery ticket.
Happy Anniversary!

If what we said in our brains counted, none of us would have ever lost an argument with our wives.
If what we said in our brains counted, I'd be divorced and potentially in the ICU.
:rotfl2:
Hope your DW doesn't lurk on these boards!
Ohhh, but she does. She and my DW have been swapping stories on the Dis Mom's Club.:eek::eek:

Congrats on both counts! :thumbsup2

Speaking of weather, I pulled a long-range forecast for Orlando off of the Farmer's Almanac website today. I'm now so pleased with the long-term look at the end of our trip. It confirms my decision to wait to purchase tickets for the 10/8 MNSSHP until we get there and have a more reliable forecast on which to base the decision.

September/October 2010:

SEPTEMBER 2010: temperature 80° (avg.); precipitation 10" (3" above avg.); Sep 1-2: Possible hurricane; Sep 3-5: Sunny, seasonable; Sep 6-10: Scattered t-storms, cool; Sep 11-16: Scattered t-storms, warm; Sep 17-23: Heavy t-storms, seasonable; Sep 24-27: Sunny, warm; Sep 28-30: T-storms, warm.

OCTOBER 2010: temperature 74° (1° below avg.); precipitation 9" (5" above avg.); Oct 1-5: Sunny, warm; Oct 6-10: Heavy t-storms, then sunny, seasonable; Oct 11-15: Scattered t-storms, seasonable; Oct 16-22: Sunny, cool; Oct 23-27: Heavy rain, then sunny, seasonable; Oct 28-31: Scattered showers, seasonable.

(My trip dates in bold).

I'm there Oct 25-Nov 4th. I hope this does not hold true. I sit at 51 days as of today, and have pretty much everything in order and now just awaiting our trip, now I have to worry about heavy rains. Thanks.... Just kidding. But I hope they are wrong.

I tried to draft his hot tub and its denizens, but I couldn't figure out what position it was listed under. I thought it would be Tight Ends, but I couldn't even find it under Wide Receivers. :3dglasses

Well, I'm sure part of the problem is this whole zero tolerance conduct policy that Roger Goodell has put into place. Probably some sort of indefinite suspension in the works there.

HAHA Very true!

Although if we said everything in our brains, we wouldn't be married for too long. :thumbsup2

Have a customer at work and this is someone who I've known for a long time. He and his wife are both really good people, but he has a crude sense of humor and is extremely outspoken. He always tells a story that he and his wife were arguing one day and he said "You never listen to anything I say." Her response: "If I listened to half of what you say, we'd be divorced."
:lmao::rotfl2:

Right now they say other than some cloud cover and gusting wind we won't even get any rain. Of course they also said this morning there are still a couple of models that show it not making that right hand turn.

Don't believe the models. In '96 they said Fran might hit Wilmington and give a little wind to Raleigh. We lived in Raleigh. DW woke me up around 3AM wondering what the noise was. It was trees coming down, the creek coming up and the start of 5 days without power.

College Football kicks off tonight.....Marshall is playing Ohio State at OSU...any of you Big Ten area Dads watch the game and keep me updated ...out cable operator does not carry it this week....:guilty:

Bracing for Barry's photoshopping. Consider it a welcome home, Fed!

The father/son battles can be trying to be sure, but my observations have shown me that it’s the mother/daughter battles that become almost epic. Be there for your wives, cause there’s a bigger storm then Hurricane Earl a headdin’ your way. ;)

Isn't that the truth. My DD is just turning 11 and she and her mom are already beginning to have some pretty serious disagreements. Of course for now the sending to her room, grounding, etc. easily settles most disputes. I think she knows she gets "more flies with honey" when it comes to Dad. She seems to go head to head with Mom and it escalates quickly.

Yeah...we can see the light at the end of the tunnel now but both daughters have indeed had EPIC battles with mom. Orders of magnitude more than my son and I ever had. Oldest is daughter is 21 and newly married...best of friends with mom now. Youngest daughter is 17...still some rough patches but not quite as bad as 13-16.

She does. But, I beat her to Facebook this morning to wish her a Happy Anniversary. Plus, after 10 years, she's heard a lot worse crap from me than that.

So, that was your wife. She told me she had been chatting with another Disdad's wife, but didn't know your screen name. It's a small world after all ...:scared1:

Barry - Awesome work :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

On a sad, but interesting note... I got an email this evening. Seems that for some unknown reason, Carnival has decided to cancel the cruise we booked for April 28th, 2011. Very strange. I called the Carnival rep that booked our cruise and he no idea what happened. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. Sure glad I didn't have any other reservations made :sad2:

It took a little sleuthing on our part. Luckily, she had the "KY" in her username, so we went through the Dis Dads state list that Steve started to find the guys in KY, then matched up the vacation dates in you siggies. That should qualify me for CSI or NCIS, right Fed?

My condolences this evening. I'm a TN fan, and not putting any hope into this season after what happened with the coaching staff the past 2 yrs.

I LIKE it, looks like something from Transformers:cool1:

I was hoping to be added to the DIS Dad's club.

My name is Marty (38). I'm an accountant and live in Clinton, MA with my DW (37), DS (8) and DD (5). Our next trips are 12/18 - 12/29, split stay between OKW and Kidani and then in Aug 2011 we are taking our first Disney cruise. We are DVC members, as well as D23 members and AP holders. My grandparents lived in Ft Pierce when I was a kid, so we used to go up to WDW back when there was only MK. The first time I went back was for my honeymoon during the millennium new year. Since then, we seem to be averaging a trip every 18 months or so.

:dancer::welcome::dancer: To The Dis Dads:woohoo:

Exactly! It's the sustained winds that blew my mind! Sounds like the house will blow over at any moment... and cringing when there is a gust. Crazy.

The wind is almost unearthly. It drives the rain almost horizontally and forces it into every crevice until the structure fails.

We’ve actually been through two hurricanes. We got chased us out of Garden City by Bonnie in 1998 (which cut a big chunk out of our week at the beach that year). That storm saw us spending the first night in the hallways of Conway high school (which to this day we still refer to as the “Conway Hilton”). We were the only one’s smart enough to bring a small TV and several Disney movies (needless to say, we had quite a nice little group of young’ens gathered ‘round our corner of “B-Hall”).

But... Our real experience with those bad boys came in 1989 when Hugo came ashore between McClellanville and Surfside Beach. That one blew the glass doors out of our second row condo and soaked every inch of the interior (but it was minor compared to what happened to the building on the front row). That monster was so large and had so much power that when it made it 180 miles inland and smacked directly into Charlotte, it was still nearly a Category-2 storm. The damage was absolutely unbelievable. We watch the tracks pretty closely now and have much respect for their power, but it’s been a while since one took a left at SC (and I fear we’re just about due).
