Today was our 7th Wedding Anniversary we went to the Outback for Dinner:woohoo: After chowing down on the buffalo strips, tangy tomato dressing on the salad, a steak & a few cokes, we hit a few stores to check out the toy section (DS was at my parents house). Well let me tell you the good ole' fart cannon was working in it's prime:lmao: It looked like some were going to drop right there in the aisle:lmao: I did notice a few guys that had the look that they would love to claim it:lmao: I'll probably be sleeping on the couch tonite:lmao:

Happy belated anniversary Ron....We like to go to Outback when we are home....We usually get the cheese fries and Ethan loves them...if your not careful you will lose and arm trying to get a bite of them. Shari and I get the Alice Springs Chicken when we go...When we want steak we head to Texas Roadhouse. Loves those rolls!!:worship:

:lmao: commando, the outback is ok for me but the texas roadhouse, thats a timed meal, as soon as the food comes, could we have the check please, eat, pay, head for home. its about a 18 min. ride with stop lights.:lmao: its not going to be pretty!!!!:lmao: dont eat in japans teppen edo and go into ellens adventure, that ride takes forever and theres no escape hatch. it was close one year.:lmao::lmao:

:scared1::scared1: Heck, I've had to run redlights before.

Congratulations! One day I will have DW convinced to buy into DVC popcorn::

Yeah... Sandbridge is just a nice beach to be at for relaxing. I tend to stay away from the Va Beach boardwalk... but only because it gets too busy sometimes.

I had a trip from hell in Walmart last year, one of those ones where the same woman and her three uncontrollable kids were blocking every damn aisle I went down. I finally skip an aisle, wait until they are near the end of the previous aisle, carpet bomb the aisle the are about to go into, then duck around the corner. There was about a 10 second delay then I hear one of them yell "OOOOOOOO STINKEY!!!!" and another starts crying that she wants to leave. DW walks up from another direction when she hears the kid yell and says "You caused this didn't you?", must have been the grin on my face that gave it away.

buying into disneys timeshare....basically pre-purchasing our family vacations, till 2054...or I die :scared1:

we bought @ SSR..nice size contract, should be ale to do pretty well for the accomidations for a fam of 6....
now we gotta pay for it  I'm really hoping for a quick turn-around, cuz I got a week off the third week of sept...

Emma's dad, when we go, we go to the boardwalk for all of about 2, maybe 3 hrs ONE evening, that is about all I can handle.....prefer a bit more peace and quiet..that is what got us @ sandbridge, nice beach, no crowds, unless you go to the public beach, but not me....

ROFR - Right of First Refusal. Basically, you buy contracts for DVC points. Like any bit of real estate, you can resell them. But in your purchase agreement with Disney, Disney has a Right of First Refusal. Say you buy 200 points at $100 a point. You then want to sell them to your brother for $50 a point. Since you are reselling it, it has to go through Disney first. I'm not exactly sure, but I think Disney can say "no, that's too cheap to sell our resorts. We'll buy it back for the $50 a point, and make your brother find points somewhere else that are more inline with what we think they should be selling for."

And the "Welcome Home" is Disney's way of saying "you paid a butt-load of money to own a teeny, tiny bit of this property. Welcome Home!" They say it whenever you call, when the guy opens the door for you, when you check in, when you pass housekeeping in the hall, when you just came back from 12 hours a 95° Theme Park carrying two sleeping kids and all sorts of crap that you just bought. Heck, I'm sure they would even say it as you were released on bail after punching a bell hop for saying "Welcome Home!"

Oh, an dadio - congrats on the DVC purchase. We also own at Saratoga Springs. Welcome Home!

Barry

I am glad youi explained all of that...I am like Mark and a non DVC person and had no idea what it meant....so does ROFR mean you can get ownership at a cheaper rate?? I have also wondered about purchasing DVC on the secondary market...do they do that??

We bought at SSR first through resale and bought a second contract at BLT through Disney. They are two completely different style resorts in 2 different locations, which was what we were looking for.

Good luck for the Sept date. According to the availability board, it looks like there are some openings.

Cool. Hope you enjoy it!

When you say the third week of September, would you be referring to the 18th-25th? Just asking, because there might be another DIS Dad at WDW at that time... :rolleyes1

Thanks Barry! The one time we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, they said "Welcome Home" to us even though we aren't DVC owners. Maybe we just looked more cultured and refined than usual. :cool2:

Yo goofy. You betcha!
there are three main players in the resale market. We are going thru the timeshare store, sponsors of this board. We are buying @ $64 a pt. I believe thru Disney direct it is closer to the $100 maybe mid 90's a pt...so a good deal of savings to be had in the resale market..unless you want a sold out place, or one that is new on the market like bay lake towers, your better off with resale
Once you are a member, it makes NO dif where you buy...
