Yeah, I was out jogging....one of those things ya know

I run at 1730 or so (530 pm) it's still a little hot (usually hovering around 105 or so), but I've gotten used to the heat now so not so bad...not nearly as bad as being out during the day in 110-120 in Armor and Equipment)...

Problem is the dust---I wear an old pair of Oakley Sunglasses to run in, or else you can't open your eyes when running into the wind--but even it hasn't been **too** bad (relative, I know).......and the Western Scirrocco winds, it' was blowing 45mph and gusting to 65 last night and this morning.

I might be on the treadmill if it keeps up like this today, but the treadmill is sooooo boring

I'm going to ride out to their knock-off Disney.....they have this amusement park that has some Disney Wannabe type stuff...

Unfortunately, it's less than hospitable to Westerners.

Al-Jazeera actually broadcasts a show with a Mickey Mouse Character (I mean, you can tell it's who they're trying to imitate, it's so obviously a copy and knock off it's ridiculous) who talks about the evils of America and Israel. At one time Disney was lobbying for them to stop, but the producers claimed it was an independent thought and not a copy of Mickey (yeah right)...

Brown Hotel - creator of the Hot Brown - the original hot, open face sandwich that many claim and duplicate
Sealbach - Fine dining - really expensive - may not want to try
Joe's Crab Shack - chain restaurant but good food

Somebody is going to Louisville and you recommend Joe's Crab Shack??? I'd say if you want some fish, KingFish is the place to go. Personally, I'm not a big seafood fan, but my family will make the drive to Louisville to go to KingFish any time, and we never eat at the Joe's Crab Shack that we have 15 min from home. If you are interested in KingFish I like the one on the Indiana side of the Ohio... very nice view of the river and Louisville while you eat. Now if you are looking for a chain restaurant in the Louisville/Southern Indiana area I think there are probably about a half dozen Hooters restaurants, not that I'd know anything about that.

This isn't really a family thing, but Kentucky has a lot of distilleries between Louisville and Bowling Green if that is something you're interested in.

Also, I don't know if it works for you, but the Kentucky State Fair will take place in Louisville Aug 19 - 29. If you're going to be around then, it might be worth checking out, or it might be something you want to avoid... depends if you're into the state fair thing or not.

I was thinking if they were downtown in Louisville, Joe's is right there and convenient. But the Kingfish on the river is a good drive out from downtown, out I-71, and nothing really special either.

Do they have PED testing for crabs? I'd try working him into a cycle of anabolic steroids to see how fast he can really go. But don't forget the female fertility drugs to mask the excess testosterone.

He's in the big leagues now. I think you should spring for the carbon fiber shell with the flame paint job.

Glad the crab racing is alive and well up north. Down here all we have are "redneck crabs" that aren't any good for racing, they keep turning left!

You should sneak him onto a Disney Cruise. They have hermit crab races on Castaway Cay. Blue Shark could sweep the prizes!

One more thing, in Louisville, we go to the Mall at St. Matthews for the Cheesecake Factory. They serve a variety of food, alcohol, and of course all flavors of cheesecake. Then, 1 mile down the road, in the Oxmoor Mall, you will find a Disney Store (I think the only 1 in KY).

Who's got big plans for the holiday weekend? I'm watchimg movies with the Bug tonight. Tomorrow, my parents and niece are coming over for brunch, then it's off to Crown Center to meet Clifford the Big Red Dog and play in the fountain. Sunday is a pool party at a friend's house, and Monday is for recovering from the pool party.
