I know you guys are making light of Barry's situation, but you know there is some truth to it!!:rotfl2: You would be surprised to see what actually happens a lot of times here in the West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky metro area...It is common for an ENTIRE clan to come with "Daddy" to have his chest xray or Barium Enema!! They will take up and ENTIRE waiting room and talk loudly about different ailments that they all have and how much they get on disability!!! I could write a book!! but heck...I can't even do a TR so a book is out of the question LOL:rotfl2:

I can only imagine...:scared1:

Can't do a TR:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ummmm...I can't do one either..:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Hey Dads,

We have now decided that my entire family (My mom, dad, 2 brothers wives and kids) will be joining us for our MNSSHP trip in October...

For the record, this is a good thing, we're gonna' have some fun:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I **think** our dates are 16-23 OCT. We don't really fool around with ADR's, and we'll be staying at POR...Bob for the Dad's after hours:cool1:
Fed ~ Do you mean Bob Jackson? He is really family entertainment, unless of course the kids are too young to stay up after 8:30 PM.

Our son arrived home from Pensacola yesterday for a weekend visit. The working interview went extremely well and all of his feedback was very positive. He knows that being a crew chief is what he wants to do. He's already talking about extending past the 3-year tour if he gets this. There was absolutely nothing about it he didn't like. The thought of him being a Blue Angel has my DW and me thinking we're dreaming! :lmao: It looks like he has a very good shot at this and he could know as early as mid-May if he is getting the assignment.

Hey guys. I moved DISdads.com to Google For Your Domain last night, which means we now have a better Email solution, along with a shared calendar and a place for shared documents too. We have another 46 Email addresses available - first come, first served. If you want a disdads.com Email address, just send me a PM and I'll get you set up.

Hey Aaron, I have a gmail address with google now. Since the domain is google would I still be able to share calendars and stuff with everyone still or would I need the disdad e-mail address to do that.

Gmail just provides the "back-end" for us, disdads.com is still its own domain with its own Email addresses, etc. However, I have set up a default calendar (I'll be providing a link on the DISDads.com page soon) that is publicly viewable. Having a disdads.com Email address isn't required, just an option available to folks who want one.

nice pics nate, and the updates, i missed a few days. im glad to see the bank of japan is maintaining our national monuments.:thumbsup2 i havnt been to air and space since i was 18, id love to go back.

FED, nice fish!! did you catch that or are you just holding it for the guy with the camera?:lmao: (just checkin)

Well, we just found out yesterday afternoon that our Disney Visa has been compromised. Still trying to figure out how someone got the number, but that is neither here nor there. They charged about $600 of stuff at a Home Depot in Houston. The lady asked me if I had been in a Home Depot in Texas today and I said, "well, since I'm in NC, there is no way that was me." Gonna have to check the bill very closely this month for other bogus stuff. They have already taken the charges off of our account and issued a new card that should be here by the end of the week.

On a better note, got in a solid 9 miles yesterday. My neighbor and I are getting ready for the annual Biltmore Estate 15K challenge (9.3 miles), which is a great race held on the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. This is the last year for this race as the Estate folks have determined that their growth, new buildings, etc... aren't conducive to having such a large scale event on their property anymore, which stinks because this is one of the best races that you could ever do. They cap the race at 900, start it at 7 on a Sunday morning, and even put a time limit on it so that everyone will be off grounds by the time the estate opens, so part of me doesn't really understand why they are stopping the Asheville Kiwanis folks from sponsoring the event. Very unfortunate because this race brings a BUNCH of out of state folks to the area for the weekend, and the majority end up buying a ticket to tour the house after the race. Great course, great scenery, and great organization from the Kiwanis. Guess that we'll have to find another race to fill in that mid-May slot.

wow, sorry to hear about your card. being everything is a card now days the stores dont even look at whos using what. heck, the last few times i was at target, i didnt even have to sign anything, girl just handed me my slip and said thank you. why bother signing the back of the card, nobody looks anyway. someone got a hold of my exxon card a few years ago, but there was a trip from washington state to ohio on it. they removed all charges and gave me a new card.

About 5 years ago we had just returned from a trip to London. I received a call at work and the lady told me she needed to verify some charges made to may account that morning. I said...ok...She said that several thousand dollars worth of jewelry had been purchased in Agra, India and they could tell that a card had been used and not just numbes punched in like a phone order or something. I told her that I was working in West Virginia and that obvioulsy it was not me in India, but that I hoped they bought good jewelry because I had a reputation to uphold!:rotfl2:

For funsies, I work retail at the local mall at christmastime. At the store I work at, we ALWAYS look at the card to see if it's signed, and ask for I.D. when it's not. You kind of have to when it's an independent store, and not a giant box store, but customers appreciate it (usually.)

And, I was reading through the POR thread, and there is a poolside bar in addition to wherever Bob Jackson hangs out. One more worry off the list. It isn't Disney (for me) without my evening poolside cocktail. (Though last trip, i brought my own Cap'n and used my resort refillable mug for the coke...:rolleyes1)

I was told once to NOT sign the back of my card so that ID would be required for purchases...so what happens if the card is not signed and they dont look????

OMG :scared1: this happened to me just the other day as well. Someone had charged $550 or so at CompUSA on our card. I download my activity to Quicken daily so caught it right away, the most annoying thing was a day after we called VISA and reported the fraud CompUSA calls us to say they think our card has been compromised. They say someone purchased some camera equipment on our card but they realized that the shipping and billing address didn't match up. This was the funniest part of the call:

CompUSA: (card compromised stuff)
DW: We called the card company already and reported that charge as fraud.
CompUSA: Well we wanted to make you aware and we will be reversing the charge.
DW: Have you shipped the order yet?
CompUSA: Yes, we shipped it yesterday.
DW: Good luck with that. :rotfl2:

when i worked in the store, i was told once we had aprov. numbers it was no longer our problem but that was about 20 years ago. who pays for that the store or the credit card company?

Just finished working on a school project with my 1st grader. :teacher:

SUCCESS! The Bug is quite a perfectionist, but also impatient. In the past, these sorts of projects have meant a guaranteed meltdown during the process. :furious:

But this afternoon, we completed the project (a T-shirt that conveys information she researched about geckos) in about an hour and a half, it is complete and looks nice, and with nary a meltdown (though at least two close calls). Woo hoo! party:

Probably not a good idea. Then anyone who gets a hold of your card could sign it themselves and it would always match up. A friend of mine signed his card Please Ask for ID. Not many vendors even look at the signature and half of the ones that do, don't do a real comparison.

The only time that this has happened to me was on a card that we did not use. The only use that we had made with it was with a CD club. Six months later, the bogus charges showed up and we received a call.

I will not do business with anyone over the phone using a credit card anymore. Too many companies were using prison inmates to handle phone sales. :headache:

I just got back from wdw and several times over the week handed over my card that has ASK FOR PHOTO ID written where the signature should be, everyone flipped it over but only one person actually asked me for ID.

I'm not sure if it still works the same way but it used to be the credit card company made insurance claims for the unauthorized activity so basically it still counted as a charge to your card that was paid so you still got the points for the charges.

Wow... time is flying by! Haven't even had much time on the DDC. Only 32 hours left before we are boarding the flight to WDW :cool1: So stoked!
