Not at all crazy! Way to go! BTW... strong rumor has FD being announced on or around May 3. Running from @ Sep 1 - Oct 2

Whew. That makes me feel better. I read that rumor on the resort discount board and did this: :woohoo:

I've done this for both planned trips this year, well ahead of booking the trip. As you say, it doesn't cost anything... well, except for CRT. Even for that, though, you can get your money back.

So I vote for not crazy at all. It's a cutthroat world, those ADRs...pirate:

Thanks, man. It's good to at least know there are others as crazy as I am. Maybe reserving ADR's before booking a trip could be another sign of a DIS Dad? :confused3

I wouldn't have thought to do that, but it's a great idea. I booked long enough ahead of time that it didn't matter - I was chomping at the bit by the time my ADR windown hit. But since we're staying at the Poly CL, I went ahead and let the IPO make my ADRs for me (I wasn't sure that I wasn't going to be stuck traveling for work on ADR day).

In other news, can it be October already? I'm soooooooo ready for this Disney World trip . . .

If the VP is such a VIP, shouldn't we keep the PC on the QT? 'Cause if it leaks to the VC, he could end up MIA, and then we'd all be put out on KP. :rotfl2:

You guys have got me so nervous for my ADR's. (is there a nail-biting emoticon?) We're doing Delux Dining, and grandma wants to do the poly show, and grandpa wants to do safari dinner, and 5 kids will want a character breakfast, and then there's a Fantasmic dinner show!:scared1::scared1:
seriously, i think i'm going to have 1 person call w/ one reservation to book meals early in the week, and one to call to book meals later in the week. (Or is online faster/better for ADR's.)

For me, it wouldn't have been a worry except for trying to get into Le Cellier, which feels like trying to break into Ft. Knox sometimes. If there's a highly popular reservation that you're worried about, I'd look into reserving it.

Oh really? I hadn't noticed...:rolleyes1:rolleyes1
There's still 24 hours or so of voting, so it's far too early to be going through my pictures trying find one for next week's contest. Or at least its far to early to admit that I'm going through my pictures trying to find one for next week's contest.

I had to laugh at all of the, shall we say, "risque" captions. With each new one that was posted, I'm like "ummm...he's 14." :lmao:

I keep forgetting to check that out.

A Le Cellier ADR is too precious to worry about booking the trip first! :worship:

When those are out there, you must pull the trigger. You have done well, grasshopper.

I am honored. :worship:

Yeah, like the Swamp Fox! Great move!:thumbsup2

:cool2:

...about 8 Miles and I pick up I-26 West to I-81 N...form there on into Virginia. Only thing of real interest that caught my attention was a bridge we crossed labeled "Route 666 - Hog Back Road" :rolleyes1

We make it to the greater Roanoke area and stop at Mickey D's for some Breakfast around 9:45am. Back on the Road north toward I-66 E. Driving up I-81 is pleasent enought...pretty scenery...just like Tennessee with Mountains and Farm Land on both sides.

I'm getting a feeling of deja vu here...like I've seen this drive before...:rolleyes1

check the box springs/Matress...:eek: Not bed bugs...but some noticable/questionable stains. I get back to the van...and DW (Mel) is about to have a panic attack...

:crazy2:

Down into the Bowls we go...this connection point has both the Blue and Yellow Lines and both will get us to the "Mall" We wanted to get on the BLue Line and get off at the Smithsonian Station...but we got on Yellow by mistake...and ended up getting off at the Archives Station...which is about a block North of the "Mall"...except...riding a Metro can really throw off your sense of Direction...so we accidentaly walk a block in the wrong direction...until I realize our error and now we have to walk 2 blocks back to get to the "Mall"

I know that feeling! :rotfl: You really do have to pay attention to signs, etc. But the subway overall is a nice system. My kids love it--it's almost like an extra attraction for them.

Things go smooth on both the Shuttle and Metro...we get on Yellow this time on purpose

:lmao::rotfl2:

Cont here maybe Monday. have a good weekend guys...going to Dollywood tomorrow.

Looks like you saw a lot of good stuff! Have fun at Dollywood! :thumbsup2

i have no idea if you're kidding or serious, but i''m figuring you'll be flooded with lots of footie this summer.

Thanks, Barry. You could have lied and said i'd be back in bed by 6:10 eastern time.

Unfortunately I'm serious....I'll be in Iraq for my last tour, and I'm hoping AFN (Armed Forces Network---our TV service out there) shows at least some of the games....and since it's in South Africa, we'll be close to their time zone!

Hey Dads,

We have now decided that my entire family (My mom, dad, 2 brothers wives and kids) will be joining us for our MNSSHP trip in October...

For the record, this is a good thing, we're gonna' have some fun:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I **think** our dates are 16-23 OCT. We don't really fool around with ADR's, and we'll be staying at POR...Bob for the Dad's after hours:cool1:

Well I'm back form DC.

It wasn't Disney...not even the Beach...but we had a good time for the most part. Could post some Pictures and a mini TR here if anyone is interested. :confused3

Welcome back!! Loving the mini-TR :thumbsup2 The pictures are fantastic!

I think I just took obsessive-compulsive vacation planning to a new level. I was checking out the availability of ADR's at Le Cellier for the week in September that we're planning to be there this year. There was only one opening left for the whole week. So, I grabbed it and went ahead and made the rest of my ADR's as well.

What's so unusual, you ask? Well...I haven't even booked my trip yet. :scared1:

We've been waiting to see if they offer free dining. But I figured it's free to make the reservations and I can always cancel, so why not?

So, am I crazy? :joker:
Or crazy like a fox? :cool2:

Crazy? Ummm... generally speaking or just about the ADR's :lmao: Hope you get free dining and vacation gets firmed up for you!

I wouldn't have thought to do that, but it's a great idea. I booked long enough ahead of time that it didn't matter - I was chomping at the bit by the time my ADR windown hit. All I can say to this is... 3 Days 21 Hours :woohoo: And it's KILLING ME! :rotfl2:

The joke is that tour guides sometimes tell people that the place where the stone changes color on the Monument is the high-water mark :lmao:

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2: Never heard that before!

Ahh yes, was a good day on the water today.....

Lake Lochloosa, FL..1.5 hours or so north of Disney...

8lbs, 9 ounces...:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

ry%3D480

Whoa... that's a nice-looking bass you got there :thumbsup2 Maybe you DO know how to fish... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I heard that one time while on a Protective Service Mission....me and the Secret Service guy just kinda looked at each other like "Whaaa?"....

The VIP's totally bought it:lmao::lmao:

VIP = Very Ignorant People :rotfl:

Oh really? I hadn't noticed...:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Yeah... I think you got this one... but we'll see. I was thinking the same thing about some of those captions... I totally forgot to submit a caption!

You SURE you don't want to get this trip in before the Columbus Day holiday? :joker:

I'd love to if it wasn't for the whole uncertainty of exactly when I get back from Iraq thing---trying to make sure there's no "hiccup"...:rotfl2:

I was at the doc for a follow up this morning and they sent me down to get an x-ray. The nurse gives me a slip of paper to give to the receptionist down in radiology so I don't have to stand in line. My first thought - "Sweet, a FastPass!" :rotfl2:

Is that on the Disney Medical Plan?:rotfl:

:lmao::rotfl2: And I'm sure it was also a magical experience.

Was this an upgrade you paid for or simply fairy dust hitting you in the face?:confused3

:rotfl2:

Did you have to take the kids out of school for it, or did you have to give up your seat in the waiting room?

You know, the quality of the X-Rays was MUCH better before they started offering Free X-Rays . . .

Now, there are all these people with their rowdy children who don't know how to behave crowding the X-Ray waiting room and just making it a much less pleasant experience.

I did see one guy who was holding the spot in the X-Ray line for the rest of his family - all 9 of them. They were in the bathroom.

Oh, don't even get me STARTED on the Japanese tourist groups that seem to travel in packs to get their X-Rays!!

I know you guys are making light of Barry's situation, but you know there is some truth to it!!:rotfl2: You would be surprised to see what actually happens a lot of times here in the West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky metro area...It is common for an ENTIRE clan to come with "Daddy" to have his chest xray or Barium Enema!! They will take up and ENTIRE waiting room and talk loudly about different ailments that they all have and how much they get on disability!!! :mad: I could write a book!! but heck...I can't even do a TR so a book is out of the question LOL:rotfl2:

Keep rooting...sometimes it works:lmao::lmao:
So, you'll be back in time to catch my wife speeding on I-75 in December. I'll tell her to slow down this time!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2: :lmao::happytv: This exchange really just made me laugh out loud. (no, really, coworkers prarrie dogged to find out what happened.)

That was my former life:cool1::cool1: Uncle Sam pays me now!!!

But don't worry, I'll let my buddies know to give her a pass:lmao::lmao:
