ok I have another issue. Is there anyone else here that has a problem with the new Tron monorail? Maybe its just me but I dont think Disney needs to have a moving billboard.Maybe I am just old school and like the traditional monorail colors.

Let's hope it stops before they go to far, next there will be product placements in all pictures with the characters.

As I said on another thread; I hope it doesn't ruin that great band-aid smell.

I love old band-aid but not to hip on the Tron wrap.

Doing some quick and dirty math, no, not a year, but just a little over 1/2 year for me. In total I've been there 45 times, and since the very first trip I count that I've racked up 186 nights. Now that's not to say these were all family trips, not at all. About 25 of those were solo trips that I've made while in FL on business, staying 1-3 nights tacked on to the front or back-end of the work trip. Additionally 6 have been trips taken directly for Disney with a special project I've been associated with on for the past 4 years. The rest were family trips of some sort. Of course that's WDW - it doesn't take into account my trips west to DL for the same reasons. The stays at DL aren't as numerous, but the visits to the parks far outpace WDW by a thousand fold or more.

chris, you were also a cast member at dl. how long did you work there?

COMMANDO,:lmao::lmao: we just had one at work. he was about and inch long. the owners daughter is running around with a box to catch it and put it outside. the one warehouse guy comes by and asked, hey, what are doing? shes tells him im trying to catch this mouse. he said ill get it, thing pokes out from a box and he steps on it!!!! :lmao: she was crying!!! i wish i could of been there.:lmao:
Probably the guy that helped us today! :lmao:

Never underestimate the power of the Dis. Leukemia tests were negative!!!!!!!!!! It is something called ITP, it's rare and from what we know there are diferent levels and different treatments, the first treatment didn't work so they will be trying other ways to treat it. I don't know anything about ITP, but have been assured that it is treatable. Thank you guys for the prayers, it worked!!!!!
FANTASTIC NEWS!

Oscar I am thankful to hear this news!!! Waiting for results is so hard and now you and your whole family can breathe again!!!

I was going through some boxes of old pictures and came across a handful of them from my first trip to Walt Disney World. It was 1986 and I was a youthful whipper-snapper all of 8 years old. I know it was 1986, because Disney World was celebrating it's 15th birthday.

.

You were only 8 in 1986????:scared1: I think I just aged 20 years!

My Prayers are with niece and family:goodvibes I'm glad to hear they figured out what is wrong and that can be treated:yay:

commando, ill let you do the math.:lmao: ive been there 48 times. ive never gone down for less than one week. in the last 12 years, ive taken 12 dvc stay trips each 11 nights ands 10 park days. 6 none dvc trips each with 6 park days. from 1993-1999 (99 being our first trip as dvc members, dw and dd and i spent 8 trips at 10 park days each. now from 85 to 93 the days vary but we still have our ticket stubs (i know) we took 10 trips and we spent 73 days in those 10 trips in a park. ok, now it gets harder to remember exact park days. but there were 12 trips from 73-84 as a kid. from 73 to 82 it was the mk only so your looking at 3 and 5 days in the parks. i have a few of the stubs with date stamps on them but they were in the early and mid 80s. for round numbers fiqure 4 days in the park each one of the 12 trips thats 48 more day. i was born in 1965 so i was only 8 the first time i was there and the amount of park days were not many at that time because the mk was the only thing there. so i got to be close to one year in the parks. that 48 in 12 trips may be high. the first few times were only 2-3 days at the mk. my brother was stationed in the air force at homestead afb so we made the trip a few times a year to see him and my moms sister who lived in stone mountain ga.(still have no clue to what her grand kids said with that accent.:lmao:) and just one other little note, ive driven eveyone of those trips.( passenger from 73-81) never flew to to florida yet. so, each trip is 1080 miles one way thats approx 52,000 miles total. :lmao: loved evey trip, just wish mom and dad would have been here longer to enjoy them, mom passed in 81 and dad in 84. (he drove us in may of 84 w/ kidney stones!!!!) he came home and a month later complained about head aches and found out he had a brain tumor. he passed in october. he was a 6-3 280lb ex marine and he turned into a kid everytime he walked under that train station in the mk. mom did it for him and us kids.:lmao:people ask me, why do you have mickey mouse tattooed on your leg?

Doing rough math it looks like you are at 357 days, during the Dec trip you will hit the 1 year mark, now thats something to celebrate:banana::cool1:party:

Here's a few more pictures from 2006...

The Living Seas. I think I saw a similar picture in one of your trip reports. Can't remember which one. So, whoever it was, thanks for letting me rip off your idea! :thumbsup2

My daughter Sarah at Epcot. She got drenched. And loved every minute of it. My wife got this shot.

My Pirate Princess. Still excited to be there. My wife took this one as well. She gets the kids at the right moments.

Here's Big Dave. This was back when the beanie was still attached to his hat.

Mommy and Sarah went on Soarin' one last time while I watched the boys, figuring we'd do the child swap. By the time they finished, it was time for our ADR at Le Cellier, so we had to leave. Here I am forlornly holding an unexpected souvenir.

And finally, here's me again, sitting in the wrong seat on Kali River Rapids.
That's my buddy's wife and kid next to me.

Thanks for the clarification, gentlemen. :thumbsup2 I've updated the original post.

Great Pics Barry:thumbsup2 Wow how the park has changed, with a 17yr gap in trips it was like going again for the 1st time I didn't even remember the skyride. I used to love 20,000 leagues & Mr Toad:goodvibes

What's wrong with being 8 in 1986? :confused3

I was happy to see that Original Post, though. I wasn't sure if I was too old or too young to be part of the DIS Dad's board. But, I guess age doesn't matter when taking kids to WDW, so I suppose it doesn't matter on the board either.:thumbsup2

(I'm still not doing a TR from before I was a DIS Dad, though. I don't write fast enough or well enough to avoid a hijacking, and my pics are awo! l:eek:)

Great! Where can I find the frozen Dole bars like they sell in the parks?!

I haven't seen any reps yet, but going through my inventory there are 3 possible replacements - Edy's Fruit Bars , Nestle Diliousio (know I killed that spelling:lmao:) & Whole Fruit Bars. Out of the 3 the Whole Fruit Bars have the nearest texture (I don't know if thats the one you tried). I have no idea when the reps will come in, but they will all be quizzed when they show up:lmao:

Just came across a new thread - What is up with giving up seats on the bus. It just started, I will be watching it:magnify: It is starting of as a good natured thread but if it gets ugly we might have to show some Dis Dad MAN LAW presence:confused3 If it comes to this Don't go in rally the Dads and we'll go in as a TEAM worked well last time.
