ok guys I will take one for the team. Seems some dont like traveling with the inlaws, some dont like them to pay ect. So heres where I will help you guys out.We can arrange for your inlaws to take my family down to Disney for a week.I would suck it up and let them pay for the trip,I will not b**ch one bit to them,I will have my kids on their best behavor ect. I am only offering to do this to help you guys out.:thumbsup2 Hope this would help some of you.

That's a very generous offer, but I don't think my in laws would consider it a real vacation unless my DW b**chs at them at least once!:rotfl2:

I'm actually looking forward to taking the In-Laws to WDW whenever they finally get around to visiting us. They are over in Malta.....what!....you don't know where Malta is!....well OK, here's how I explain it; Italy is shaped like a soccer players leg and foot, Sicily is the soccer ball, Malta is the dirt flying off the ground when the ball is kicked. It really is a great place to visit, liking fireworks seems to be a DisDad requirement and they are one of the top countries in the world for firework, the displays at the festivals go on for 2 or 3 hours.

Anyways, Malta is 3 islands, biggest one of the 3 being about 21 miles by 14 miles so as far as amusement parks go, bumper cars and that crappy little caterpillar "rollercoaster"that goes in a circle are as good as it gets. My FIL is a huge fan of technology in general and MIL was a dressmaker so I figure by the time we finish Pirates and It's a Small World they will be on sensory overload:scared1:

Just now getting chance to post.

DS, High School Band marched in The Tournament of Roses Parade
on New Year's Day. I was lucky to be a chaporne for the trip.

We got to do a day at DL. Croweded was not even the word but
we did ride Matterhorn and Indiana Jones.

Our school was the only school from Texas and you could tell
who they were in the parade because our Color Gaurd followed
the band with HUGE shiny TEXAS flags. Talk about goose bumps
when you see your kids march by.

The Conroe Tiger Band has made our community proud!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that would be a proud moment to witness. I was in the Marching Band in High School. We had a lot of fun with great memories to fall back on. We never went to Disney World on our trips but we were selected to March in the Inaugural Parade representing Ohio at Reagans second innaugural. However, the parade was canceled due to sub zero temps...I think my trumpet would have frozen to my lips ha ha

That is really cool:thumbsup2 and something you both will always remember. I did watch the parade on TV, had to see the snowboarding dogs. I was amazed on how much work was put into all the floats. I can't recall the bands, but did they play Yellow Rose Of Texas.
Congratulations that is a huge honor to be asked to march in parade that is Nationwide:woohoo::goodvibes

That is cool!

A co-worker of mine stopped by my office last week to tell me that his 17 year old daughter was on a bus to Disney World with her marching band to play in some parade. He didn't know what parade, or where they were staying or if they got park days.
Umm... if you kid was driving 1200 miles, wouldn't you want a few details? (I'm assuming his wife knew, but still...):confused3

I am with you Barry. Maybe I am too type A. I would want to know every detail whether I was with them or not. It reminds me of how patients come to have test done and you ask them who their doctor is and they look at you with cow eyes and say "I don't know"..and then you ask them what sort of problem they are having to make him want to order the exam...and they say..."He just ordered it...I don't know" People people people..in this day and time we have to stay informed with what is going on with our families and our selves!!! Ok ..I am getting off the soap box now

Well let me get right back up on it for a minute. I called my doctor to see if he could order a cholesterol test. Of course you never actually get to talk to the doctor, so I'm asking the nurse. She asks why I want the test. Well, there is a history of high cholesterol in my family, and I want to catch it early if I can. She says she needs to talk to the doctor. 4 hours later I get a call back. The doctor wants me to come in for a visit so we can discuss the test. Why? So they can bill my insurance for a doctor visit and the lab test? Or just so they can waste my entire afternoon just so I can get the thing that only takes 10 minutes of my time? Grrr....
Alright, I'm done with the soap box and will put it back in it's regular spot in the corner where anyone is free to jump on.

That wouldn't be me. I would be so proud I would have to be there to see it, and when they came by everyone around me would know that's my kid:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I have started a Blog to try to increase my marketing efforts. Will you please become a follower of my blog. I need to grow my follower population for the blog to show up in Google searches so that people who are interested in the subject matter can find it. It is about Michigan Business and will probably be of little interest to you. Becoming a follower does not mean you will have to ever read it. You will not receive email from it. I will be very grateful and I will consider it a personal favor. All you do is go to my blog and hit the "follow" button and it will lead you through the process.

Thanks in advance.

Where have you been hiding? Haven't seen you around much.

And was it chunky or creamy PB? :rotfl2:

My parents gave us a great Christmas gift... 10 days in Maui with them. :cool1: Sorry guys things were crazy between holidays and getting ready to leave a couple of weeks ago. Had a great time and the girls loved the waves. Meg our 2 yo says her favorite was seeing the fishies in the waves.

The PB was creamy despite DW's efforts to sway our girls to the chunky side.

Is it just me or does this scream "Gotta support my kid". How would she ever go on in life knowing Dad wasn't there to see her on the big stage. I suppose these are the sacrifices we make as DisDads. :rotfl2:

Welcome back, Fed! We'll just assume you had a great time. Looking forward to hearing about it and seeing the pics.

Yes the Conroe Tiger Band did play Yellow Rose of Texas and
Deep inthe Heart of Texas. They marched directly behind
the smowboarding dogs.

Fun fact we found out later that day from the Band Directors was 3/4
through the parade a hugh sign appeared from a group of people
that made a "Bucket LIst" trip to the parade from our town, that fired
the band up to complete the 5 1/2 mile march stepping high.

If I'm marching 5 1/2 miles behind dogs, I'm not only stepping high, but I'm watching where I step! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Raleigh is closed! No public transit, just about every business closed, airport shut down. Gotta love it when the south gets 6 inches of snow.

Of course I couldn't waste this opportunity to post a pic of the van.
