Merry Christmas guys!

I hope all of you who purchased gifts for you wives with power cords that do something functional for your household truly enjoy the reaction that she gives you! Even if she told you that's what she wanted, or told you to be thrifty because you just bought something very large or costly in the last few months... wow. That should be cool to see. Wish I could be there... not!

Me - I always ignore what she says she "wants" (this year it was a new handheld mixer) and go with the fluffie stuff I know she likes but won't buy for herself (Bath & Body smelly stuff, books, jewelery, etc). This year it was a conglomeration of smaller stuff including that very expensive (like $30 for a very small jar, not much bigger than a mayo jar) Salt Scrub that she fell in love with at Basin while in DTD last year that wipes away all the rough skin after a good scrub making your skin feel soft as a baby's butt. It's never super easy picking out stuff since she always goes around saying "I don't need anything". The "big" thing is 50 more points at VGC, which definitely is the gift that will keep on giving (and costing since there are annual dues - oh well - more points to spend on accomodations away from her family while out there...even she likes that!)

Seriously - I hope you all have a great Christmas. I'm off work and enjoying hanging with my kids today. Getting ready to make some Christmas cookies with them - but had to check in and say hey for the day.

Dave I thought my wife would be the only one to ask for a crock pot...however, she wanted one in RED to match the Kitchen aid mixer LOL...I never found it so I think I am going to be in trouble!

it looks like your gonna be buying a new mixer to match the new crock pot. her kit. aide is white so i got off east there. we keep it in a cabnet in the kit and off course she cant reach it. that thing is a tank to have to lift all the time.

I've got to vent here. So my venting makes sense, let me frame the reason for my frustration. Several months ago I started a sweepstakes blitz... I scoured the internet looking for any sweepstakes I could possibly enter. Fast forward to 2 days ago... I'm playing the Holiday Cheer Sweepstakes (http://www.winwithuniversal.com/)... which I have been playing EVERY day for the past few months. I'm at home... and I click the button to start the game... then I click stop... and behold! I get 3 matching pictures... Islands of Adventure! I'm jump up off the couch and start performing my "I-never-win-but-I-just-won" dance! I show the results to my DW and then I click the Next button. That's when my excitement quickly turned into confusion. Instead of getting the "Congratulations!" I was expecting, I get "Sorry... you did not win... try again". At first I was like... wait a minute... did I click the wrong button or something? NOPE. After confusion wore off, disappointment and anger set in . They ripped me off! After reading the sweepstakes rules again, apparently they have verbiage in place that protects them in case these things happen. Even if I had taken a screen shot of the winning play, they wouldn't even look at it.

Sooooo... I sent an email to that company to explain my frustration and to make sure they were aware this is happening. It's been a few days and have not received any kind of response... not even a confirmation email that indicates they received mine.

I will no longer participate in this sweepstakes... nor will I plan to attend their facilities any time in the near future. Thanks for letting me vent.

I know the exact sweepstakes you're talking about. That is unbelievable! Sounds like some two-bit scam you would expect in a dark alley. There should be someone that you could report this to. I know there isn't regulation of the internet, so I don't know who you could complain to....

well everyone, merry christmas!!! we both have to work 1/2 days thursday and we are going to midnight church for the first time.( yup, the guy who goes to bed at 8:30 is going to church at midnight.) we are having christmas diner around 2 on christmas and than off to see my brother-in-law in the hosp.( he had some problems with the kemo and they had to do it slower than they thought so he wont be home for christams.) my poor sister is a mess, now she has a bad cold and hasnt been able to go see him since monday. she had an appoint. w/ her cancer dr. (same as my brother in law) today and he gave her something to relax her alittle. i dont think ill be on till sat. so everyone have a nice christmas and ill talk to you on sat.!!!

Well Dads....I hope everyone has a VERY Merry Christmas! I figured I had better go ahead and tell everyone because the next few days are going to be a blurr for everyone! It is such a shame that you work so hard to get ready for this one day out of the year and it is over before you know it!!

Shari went to church tonight and asked me to finish wrapping the "Santa" gifts for the kids. Well, I had no freakin idea how much she had bought. Santa is going to need a 2 or 3 sleds to get this here!!! Sheesh! I have tried to hide everything in the laudry rooom and shut the door (no one goe sin there anyway!)...and it does not all fit!!! I have not even started to wrap the few things I have bought for her! I think tomorrow night will be a late one here! Teh elves are going to be putting in some OT!

I agree with you, they should not produce a winning combo if they can't give you the prize. I just glanced at that page and it looks like the prize would have been a pair of 1day/2park tixs. Since this would be a tax write off for them and not cost them anything, plus the fact you most likely would buy add. tixs, maybe stay at there resort and spend money in the park, it makes no sense on why they did this.

As for visiting their facilities, the half owners of universial now own all the Busch & Seaworld park Hopefully they keep things the way they are.
