Can't help you short term but maybe this will help long term: We took DS for the first time just before he turned 3, he loved it and still talks about things that happened on that trip a year and a half later (so much for everyone who told us he was too young to go). The best part is that since he wasn't 3 yet he was free to get in, ate for free at buffets and family style restaurants, ate off our plates at regular service restaurants, and was really too young to realize he wanted anything from the gift shops.
So with all the money you would save she'd be crazy not to bump up the next trip by a year and a half.

That might just work, especially since they really seem to want to go and my SIL is frugal! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Since the shipping on 399 beers is likely to be quite pricey I will volunteer to store the beer at my place and anyone on the East coast can pick it up the next time they head down to the parks.

If we get Yuengling Lager, I'll take care of it since the brewery is pretty close to Easton! :lmao:

And here I was hoping that #400 will be a Canadian. That way we can get some Molsons or Labatts. (I'm a Canadian transplant if you couldn't tell).

Oh in case anyone hasn't noticed.... we leave Tomorrow!!!

The bus is pulling out of the station tomorrow at noon (or so).

See y'all on the road or on the return.

I'll get a TR up over the 4 months after we get back. (That's the right timeline isn't it Trennr?) :lmao:

Have a great time and don't forget the Dole Whip Float!:cool1::yay::woohoo:

We were there two years ago for it and loved it. I really didn't notice any bigger crowds than normal and the flower sculptures were amazing. We'll be there starting April 17th and are really looking forward to it.

Second that. We were there 2008, a moved up July trip due to DW pregnancy... The crowds weren't noticeably bigger, and if you have any interest in Disney's landscaping or topiaries or things of that nature, it provided a nice diversion for an hour or so.

Have a great time. Enjoy the ride. And when you stop for gas breaks, make sure you open all of the car doors for a few minutes to vent out any excess estrogen.:lmao:

I have a great idea...a Dis Dads Yuengling Brewery tour. It just so happens that they have a Brewery in Tampa, Fl...:rolleyes1

Where in Canada were you from?

We took our son on his first trip to the World when he was 2.5 years old back in 2005 since he was free to get in. I second the free buffet and parental plate share option. His grandparents sent him with $20 with which he bought his own Sorcerer Mickey spinning light up toy. We took pictures of him picking it out and paying for it and that thing is still around here and working.

That's funny, my son picked the Buzz spinner on his first trip. They aren't cheap but I was really surprised how durable they are, it has taken quite a beating but still works and gets packed every trip.

Well, this year I got a brilliant idea. Some people dress up for their photos but there are always a few families that wear their favorite football team jerseys or something. So I thought... why not mouse ears?

You betcha'! Had our photo taken with the beanies on all three of us. After we looked at the proof we thought, "It sounded good at the time but looks dorky now." <sigh> Oh well, I'm a DIS Dad. People who know us will understand.
:earboy2:

I really think that's one of the great things about Disney, its more about the personal memories then what people will think. I'm pretty professional at work but all the pictures in my office are me going goofy stuff at Disney; people figure I've got a twin who sends me a lot of pictures.

I have to ask this question, because all of the sudden not sure about our dates. What do you guys think of the Flower and Garden Festival? Are the crowds bad? Even if you guys say it sucks, I have two girls in my life, so I am sure I will have to endure. The good news is at least I can buy BEER in Germany, so away goes the troubles.

If your girls are into fairies, they will love this festival. We've been there for the last 2 years and they always have fun stuff for the kids to do. Last year they even had stations set up where you could decorate your own flower pot (plastic cheapo's)... and they give you flower seeds to plant in it when you get home. DD really liked this. This only thing I'll comment about is the time-frame... if you go during spring break, you may be looking at rather large crowds. We have been going at the very end of April and have had very low crowds.

Have a awesome trip!!!

I'll give you 6 months for the TR! Maybe we can have the longest TR contest for the DIS Dad's Club!

HAHA! I'm winning the contest so far!:banana: :woohoo::woohoo:

Have not... but I'm thinking a train car filled with jingle-bell-totin' kids would be a test of nerves...
"each child will receive their own jingle bell"
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

:headache:

Take ear plugs...Check. :thumbsup2

Might just dress up in some jammies and take a pillow too.

We are leaving on March 13th. We went the same time last year and it was about a week before it started. Does anyone know if any schools are out on Spring Break that week? I know in South Carolina, schools usually let out the week of Easter.
