The debate board.. please read

It's even more infuriating for me, because I always stuck up for JJ/VH or whomevers, right to express him/herself.

I learned my lesson after we lost Bleepos, how boring it became.



Anyway, I hope that JJ/VH and the Brits keep posting!

But people never get around the filters on this board and I have never seen name callong on here so you can't say it was all from the DB honestly as I have been the brunt of more name calling etc on here than I ever was on the DB but alas I have no reason to run to the mods to get them to close threads etc I am a big boy I can handle being called names etc. It is almost a double standard really. Sorry Dee not ragging on you directly hope you don't take it that way.

I was kind of wondering, since I'm not a parent. Do parents let their kids hang out unsupervised on the internet all day? Aren't they supposed to be responsible for what their kids read on the net?

Just to be clear there are some posters who seemed to only post during the work week so that could explain their absence from the board this weekend. Another thing to consider, it is a holiday weekend so some of regulars could be out of town camping, at the beach, at WDW etc. So there are some debate board regulars who may not even know the board is closed yet. Boy will they be surprised on Tuesday As for some not having posted on the CB, that could be true, the CB is not for everyone. But I do know some who post on other boards such as the resorts board or the DVC board who never post on the CB They may or may not join the CB but that doesn't mean they were trying to kill the debate board.

I agree with you. And I think a lot of people are in for a shock after the weekend.

The posters to whom I am referring just showed up one day,very recently, and their very first post on the DIS was an aggressive one on the DB. Now that, to me, seems extremely unlikely. That a person would just happen to go to a Disney site and the first place they go to is the DB? And the very day the register, without taking any time to get to know where people stand, they begin to launch insulting attacks on some posters?

edited to add that some of these posters were posting right up to the minute the DB was shut down, so I don't think their silence here can be explained away by assuming they are on vacation.

No, I did not say no one could learn about religion on the db. I just wouldn't take what's there as "gospel." If someone wants to learn about something, I think they should do their own research as opposed to believing what they read on a board. However, if someone wants to take another person's opinion as "gospel," that's their choice.

Hey you guys..that whole reilgon thing was posted to me. What happened to that thread. I forgot to keep up with it..and if it is closed does that mean I cant go back and find it? I want to see what was said back to me. I didnt even know someone else posted to that. Who asked to have it closed?

Forgive me, but I am having a really hard time figuring out what you are trying to say. You keep quoting what other people have responded to posts of mine, leaving in my name, minus my original quote. It is very hard to make out what your point is.

Are you disagreeing with me? Are you making a statement in response to the person addressing me? It really is completely unclear what you mean. And extremely unfair to leave my name in quotes by other people. It can leave readers with a distorted impression of what my original post said.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't me and to hear what got responded to. For the DBers that have "thick skin" their feelings sure did get hurt..even after they were apologized to.
