I'll check around here for you Dawn. They have to be mittens right - not gloves? I just wanted to make sure before I head out. Let me know and I'll look around for you. How many pairs do you need?
I think gloves would be preferable for 5 year olds, but mittens or gloves - either is fine with me. I'm hoping for something unisex and hopefully the stretchy kind. I need about 20 pair.

I went to Hancock Fabrics today and picked up a brochure they had at the counter that showed fleece mittens (no pattern though). I wonder how difficult it would be to make them out of fleece if I can't find "real" ones. I understand how to make the shape, just not sure how they would stay on since fleece doesn't really stretch. Elastic maybe :confused3
Deb, anyone...

I hope that all of us who are running in the marathon plan a big night out together!!!!

But of course!!! And we'll need a special t-shirt design for those of us doing the half too.... please! We can plan more then 1 event if everyone would like- maybe if we're really fast we could do an illuminations cruise and split the cost- or something ilke that. Anyone else have any preferences or ideas??

Well Ellen - the exact same reason you stated above is why we moved from Long Island to the Rochester area!! There is no preparing you for the expense... and we would have spent our whole lives trying to pay for a mortgage. What kind of money would our child have to make in order to live in his home town??? We are here a year now and happy as clams. This was out biggest life decision (other than getting married and having a child!) and one of our happiest. So - Jennifer - being happy with where you pick is a very important thing. It took me 42 years to figure that out!!

And if you want to read a story about our move that was in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, all you have to do is google Matthew Linetzky. What other 7 year old can google himself to find an article?????

Those pictures are so cute, Marti! You have the sweetest family. By the time we can build our house (what we really want to do) we're going to have to give up on the Boston area, I think. It's just so expensive to live around here, though I'm sure not as bad as Long Island.

Yeah, Boston is our last stop on the interview trail. We left it on to go check it out, but I'm sure it's up there as well!

have any of you used dreams unlimited for your trip? how was it?
I used them for our September trip and I was very happy with them. Shirley was my agent. She got all of my ADR's and had to make lots of changes since we kept changing our minds.

She also applied discounts to my reservations as soon as they came out. It was so nice to know that she had taken care of everything :goodvibes

The only thing I don't like is that you can only talk with your agent by email. It really wasn't a problem for us as she checked her email constantly thoughout the day.

OK, for the interest of your girls I would suggest: Princess Breakfast in Norway & Crystal Palace at MK or Chef Mickey's. They might get a kick out of the 50s PrimeTime Cafe or Whispering Canyon. Hoop Dee Doo. Definitely do the Fantasmic Dinner Package at MGM at either Mama Melrose or, the other one escapes me. Not the Brown Derby, but the buffett place.
The buffet is Hollywood & Vine. I heard they might make it into a character meal. :confused3

This is so sweet! I'm thinking about going down to DL in March (26th Anniversary) - but I know absolutely nothing about DL- can you give me some hints. We like staying onsite, but if you can give some really nice close offsite places we might be interested in that as well. What else is there to do around DL?? I need the scoop Glynis! Please!??!?? Any websites?

I'm not Glynis, I know, but I may be able to help some. We lived about 10 minutes from DL for a couple of years and it was my second home for much of it. There are so many places within walking distance and much cheaper that the onsite hotels (all deluxe and seem to be booking up quite often lately). I have heard many recommendations for the Candy Cane Inn. It has a free shuttle as well. I've also heard good recommendations for the Holiday Inn on Harbor. My family has stayed at the Alamo. It is a decent place and a really good price (usually about $50). If you don't want to walk everywhere there is the Anaheim Resort Transit that is about $3 a day (may have changed). This is a shuttle bus that stops at area hotels.

Knott's Berry Farms is very close as well. They have a Snoopy theme to the kid's area and some shows. There are a lot of thrill rides here as well. Universal Hollywood is about an hour away. Otherwise, there are the beaches. A couple of hours away in San Diego is Sea World and the San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park.

I personally haven't found any great Disneyland sites. The DIS is probably the best one and laughingplace.com has some info. Themouseforless.com and allearsnet.com have been building DL sections.

Have a great trip!!

You can find some places that aren't bad, but it can be pretty high. A lot depends on where the hospital is and how close you want to be. We live in Salem and there are several, I guess they'd be condos, in the $230k range. They look pretty nice and would be a good space, but they are still part of a 2-family. I'm not sure what a 1-family would go for, particularly because in this area they are so much larger.

When are you heading to Boston?

I have heard some pretty strong rumors about that recently too. I hope the casting call for a Sarge for a character meal is promising to finally bring a Toy Story meal somewhere on property.

I like it, especially the color. I can't say I'd go for a 4 hour talking hairdresser, but I think that you look great.

When are you heading to Boston?

Well, Kyle's interviews there (at both Baystate/Tufts and UMass) are the 23rd - 25th. I won't be able to get out of clinical, so I think we'll be up there the Friday-Sunday before, and I'll fly home for class/clinical.

So you live around there now? I guess I was thinking you were just looking to move TO the Boston area.

We definitely are wanting a single family home, ideally. I usually look at real estate while Kyle is interviewing, but since I won't be there on those days I think we'll just look into it some before heading that way (and then look around the suburbs that we have found).

Boma is one of my favorites, we always go there even if not staying there, it just reminds me of 'home'.
I wanted to try this placed but how do picky eaters (the kids not me :teeth: ) do? DH thinks the cost might not be worth it if the kids eat nothing. :confused3
