OK- let's get some of those all important AP questions answered!!!

How long are you going for and how many adults/children??? Do you wnat to PH and visit the water parks??

We are staying 10 days...9 day Park hoppers but no waterparks. The plan was to do the poly concierge...2 adults, 3 kids. What do you think?

I am more of a reader than a poster but I thoroughly enjoy reading this thread daily, I think you guys are a great bunch of people and I could defiantly use some of your prayers and pixie dust this week, my 5 year old son, Blake is having his tonsils and adenoids taken out on Thursday, I know that he will be much better off in the long run but right now I am terrified of him having to be put out.

Libby

Good luck to you!!! :goodvibes:

Thanks everyone for the :wizard:. I am so ready for my trip for some R&R.

UOFL here is some :wizard: for your DS. My older two had this done at the same time. It was a rough couple of weeks after surgery but they were fine and much better off afterwards.

Does anyone know how long grape Powerade keeps your tongue blue? I'm supposed to go to Kevin's City Council Installation tonight, and I think he'll be a little embarrassed if I don't do something about this.

Amy :)

P.S. I'll help anyone plan a trip to DL or WDW! Well, anyone except Kate, but she's such a expert, she doesn't need my help. :rotfl:

I'm not sure how long it keeps the tongue blue, but it turns Colby's poop green for a couple of days. :rotfl: Something to look forward too.

Wow, He's beautiful. Another wonderful thing for you today.

I do sew so if you need me to make a few patches I'd be happy too. I just need some measurements or a pattern to go by.

:wizard: :wizard: Here's some PD.

My DS8 had a hernia op last year and I was really nervous the closer it came, I just kep thinking, this is something small that they do hundred of in every city every week, he was fine, by the next day he was asking if he could have the other side cut and for a couple of months he asked if I was sure he didn't need to go back. I think he loved missing school, having all the attention etc.

OK, I promise that I did read every post, but was using the computer in the bedroom with no paper nearby so I didn't take notes. I know that several people needed pixie dust :wizard: :wizard: and there were a few congrats. I saw some wonderful new designs too.

For all of you that were there for me during the Train Incident with my Dad, he had a CT Scan yesterday and everything is back to normal. He has been medically cleared.

Colby's face has healed, but he is left with a 3/4 " scar on his left cheek, actually between the cheek and mouth kind of following the laugh/smile line. Hopefully that will get better over time.

It looks like we are climbing out of the illnesses that we've had lately too.

Thank you all for your support during these difficult times. I really cannot find words to express how much you all helped me.

Here's some :wizard: for Blakes quick recovery! My oldest ds had his tonsils taken out & he recovered very quickly. First couple of days slowed him down, but after that he was back to his normal self. I still remember the nurse walking with him to surgery holding his hand & he turned & looked at me. His face was so sweet & he was being so brave. I wanted to go with him so bad.

Good for you!!!!

Make sure you check out the FAQ thread over on the Resorts Board if you haven't already. They have lots of great info., plus it also breaks down what animals are on each savannah so you can make a request. I think giraffes are on all of them, but the other animals differ.

DH got up early one morning when they were feeding (around 7 a.m.) and got some of the most amazing pictures from the public areas of the various savannahs.

I am so glad that things are starting to get better. As for Colby's scar there are products out there like Mederma that are supposed to help reduce the appearance of scars.

I am sure this has been asked & answered...but I am getting a little slow in my new found old age :teeth: But can someone clarify for me some AP questions...
if they indeed can be answered...

how many visits to break even?

Can you participate in the dining plan?

do most people buy aps for their entire family..or for just one person to be able to take advantage of better room rates...

Thanks!!

I am sure I'll need a lot of wine to figure out the DVC :rotfl:
the break even point on AP's is 11 days

when we buy them we try to go on two trips on them - last year we had them - I went Oct 22-31 and then the following trip Oct 7-16 and it made it an easy decision to make a spring trip without my DH (my mom had an AP and went with us)

what I loved about it was that it was easier to plan - I didn't feel like spending half a day at MK was wasting a day - and we were able to go to the parks on our arrival and departure days without worrying about buying a day even if we were only in the parks for a couple of hours

it is my understanding that you can add the dining plan as long as you are not using the AP discount rate - so you might need to weigh the discount vs the food savings

DVC is so easy to understand if you go to their sales pitch - and they are GOOD!!! If you want it - they are really good at helping you weigh the pros and cons and the bonus with DVC is $100 off an AP and you can use the dining plan!!!!!

Kristine - I'm sure someone has responded by now, but just wanted to say that I think AP's are great! Granted we have ended up taking a trip or two that we might not have this year w/o them, but the amount of $$ we have saved on rooms and with the Disney Dining Experience card (which you can buy by being an AP holder) have been substantial for sure. I won't hesitate to do the math each time we go in the future to see if it makes sense for us.

There used to be a break-even analysis for AP's over on Allears before the new MYW system - maybe they've since had the time to update things in the last year. I'd go over there and check it out!

Welcome back, Tinkaroo! How was Disneyland. Was anything I told you helpful?!? Give us the details!

You were MORE than helpful, Glynis!!! We definitely did use your advice!

I may actually try to do a trip report for the 1st time, mainly because I thought it was interesting all the things we noticed that were different between both places. We had a great time, and we loved the Disneyland Hotel - it had the perfect mix of nostalgia and Disney magic! If only I could get a Tink pixie dust border for my bedroom - DH actually asked if they sold it! :rotfl2:

I especially loved that the characters just walked around like they used to do years ago at WDW - no crazy lines at Toontown, in the Town Square, etc. It was so spontaneous - and there seemed to be so many more of them, too. The only characters I noticed with "handlers" were Mickey and the princesses - everyone else was on their own!
