Hiya Midnite! Glad you found us! When's your next Disney visit? That seems to be the question of the hour....

....looks like ours may be December 15-22 - but we're still waiting for the calendar from school..... man the wait is killing me!!

Let's see....my youngest is 2 so he'll probably be out of the house by age 18 or 19. So, I'm guessing we will be able to afford it somewhere around January or February of 2022. Should I put on a countdown ticker?

I'm kidding!!!! We're hoping to save enough for this year or next year, but who knows what the future holds. In the meantime, I'll just have to satisfy my longing by reading all those wonderful trip reports and looking at pictures. :flower:

Boy he's cute but I am not looking forward to being a step grandma - I want to think I AM still too young. My SDD is going to be 21 in July.

Our next trip was scheduled for April 06 (gotta get one last trip out of those AP's :teeth: )

Dh came home today and said he thinks we should take this year off. :faint: Because we need new windows. :cold: :cold: :cold: He's right but boy do I hate the idea of not going until 2007. :sad1: We went 3 times in 2005 and he thinks that's plenty.   It's my happy place for sure. :goodvibes I'm actually contemplating getting a part time job to pay for our April trip.

ETA it's so good to see everyone posting. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

i picked akl b/c i have always wanted to go on a safari and thats as close as a safari as ill get

It is such a great resort, and I think there is a lot to do. There aren't any water mice or fishing options like at some other resorts, but there is the night-time storytelling, the watching the animals (both during the day and at night with the night-vision goggles), the art/lodge tour, etc. It is also just a cool place to hang out. I was trying to convince DH to go for the EE preview at the end of this month, and to maybe stay concierge to do the Sunrise Safari, but he wasn't biting. He said he wants to put that money towards a new kitchen sink!

Who are these men anyway?! ;)

What room type are you going to do? We stayed standard when we were there, and it was still great, although savannah would have been awesome!

Kristine - he is beautiful!!!!!!!!

How was your DD's day at school

and I agree - you look WAY too young to be a grandma!!

Kirsten did well today...didn't seem to have any problems..I am so relieved! :teeth: But this patch thing has got me crazy...I stuck the patch on the lens, but she has learned she can see over or under her glasses. I hope the item I ordered comes soon and works..or I'm not sure what I'll do.

I am sure this has been asked & answered...but I am getting a little slow in my new found old age :teeth: But can someone clarify for me some AP questions...
if they indeed can be answered...

how many visits to break even?

Can you participate in the dining plan?

do most people buy aps for their entire family..or for just one person to be able to take advantage of better room rates...

Thanks!!

I am sure I'll need a lot of wine to figure out the DVC :rotfl:

I think it takes 12 hours!!!!;)

I think that would be a story for the morning paper!!! I would be sure to post it for everyone to see!!!

I really have no idea though - and Steve told me last night DL in the fall is probably out - but HIS best friend lives in LA - so how hard could it be to change his mind?

I love DL in the fall. After Labor Day it's virtually empty, so you can do a ton more stuff. However, the worst day at DL is better than any day at home!

I need some of that there pixie dust. Went to get my dental crown on this morning and they decided I needed a root canal. So I am sitting here with a numb mouth. They gave me a prescription for pain medicine and told me it would be sore for the next three days. Ouch. Anyway the cost is what is so bad. I have spent out of pocket already 700.00 for this one tooth and depending on what the insurance don't pay I may have to pay more. This is an unexpected expence and is really eating into my disney money. We go in a little over four weeks. Now I still have to go back next week to get the stupid crown on. Sorry so long just needed to vent. I think I am feeling better already just being able to share my unpleasant experience today.

I would LOVE to give any input you'd like! We stayed at AKL for my DH's 30th this past April for a week, and I think that next to the GF, it is hand's down my favorite resort (and DH's for sure). We keep having to force ourselves to try other resorts, but AKL will be one we return to time and again for sure once we've completed our "sampling"!

I was at the World 11/28-12/4 of this year - I had never been at the holiday time, and everything is so fabulous at that time of year. CONGRATS on your trip - and ask away!

Welcome back, Tinkaroo! How was Disneyland. Was anything I told you helpful?!? Give us the details!

He's adorable! And there is no way you look old enough to be a grandma! Congrats, though! I love looking at baby pics!

That is what DH's are for - to wash the dishes!!!

When we both worked, he was great about all that stuff. But now that I am a stay at home mommy its a little different. We moved when DS was 1 to a bigger house and it is a regular "tease" in our house that I would give him a 4 hour long back rub if he could tell me where I keep the vacuum!

DD was playing the other day in her room and fell and busted her mouth on the corner of her dresser drawer. This left a big gash in her gums which resulted in a lot of blood. Ugh!
