We stayed at WL in December, 2004 and really enjoyed it, and we were at POFQ Dec. 2005. They both have their good points and bad points. I did find I liked it better having everything in one building and not having to go outside to get something. Maybe it was because it was so flippin' chilly this past time!

I guess I don't really care where we stay, I am just trying to keep the cost down since we will be going back 8 months later for our 10 year, and I have my heart set on staying for at least 10 days (2 weeks if I can convince him ;) ) We'll probably end up at a Value for that trip- maybe POP or ASmo, not sure yet...

I think it takes 12 hours!!!!;)

I think that would be a story for the morning paper!!! I would be sure to post it for everyone to see!!!

Well, I've decided eating is helping the situation. Banana bread and milk. Yummy! :teeth:

Amy :)

Just popping on to say "Hi!" Sounds like a lot of new trips planned for 2006!
I would love to join you Denise at GF but then we wouldn't be able to go for 2007 so I guess I have to compromise! :teeth:

We are going back to Disney 8/20-8/31 staying at either the beach club or the Dolphin (depending on the deal we can get either thru Disney or my DH's spg membership) I would really like to stay where we could walk to EPCOT.

When are you going in Dec? We'll be there Dec 15-22 at the GF again. and we just upgraded to main bldg concierge. I'm so excited!

What made you switch to the main bldg. concierge? I keep going back and forth as to where to stay for our Dec. 1-10 stay. I have poly concierge booked...but everytime I read an off review, I start agonizing.

Thanks..today was her first day going to school with glasses. She was very nervous....I wanted to keep her home in my arms...but she was really brave, and went and didn't look back.

Congrats to your DD (and you) for being brave!

I started wearing glasses in the 2nd grade, and then transitioned to contacts a few years later (my dad works for Bausch & Lomb, so that was cheaper - free stuff! :rotfl2: )

Even though I was the only person I knew with glasses, no one was mean about it...and I could SEE!! They finally diagnosed my poor eyesight after my parents went to an Open House, and noticed that in my math work I had been writing the division sign as a fraction (1/2), instead of the line with the dots above/below. Somehow, my teacher never noticed it!

A few days later I had glasses, and I can remember coming home, looking out the kitchen window, and saying "Oh Mom, look, our neighbors have a bird house!" I could never see it before, and man did that just eat my mom up that I had gone so long without seeing things properly.

Once your DD gets used to things, she will be SO GLAD that she can see properly!

I would LOVE to give any input you'd like! We stayed at AKL for my DH's 30th this past April for a week, and I think that next to the GF, it is hand's down my favorite resort (and DH's for sure). We keep having to force ourselves to try other resorts, but AKL will be one we return to time and again for sure once we've completed our "sampling"!

I was at the World 11/28-12/4 of this year - I had never been at the holiday time, and everything is so fabulous at that time of year. CONGRATS on your trip - and ask away!

Hello DDA!

We got back late Sunday from sunny Southern Cal after watching the Horns win a championship, and then visiting Mickey's West Coast digs! The week couldn't have gotten much better for me! :teeth:

I've been glued to the computer the last 2 days trying to get caught up, and boy, it was touch-and-go there for a while - felt like I was watching the 4th quarter of the Rose Bowl again!! I'm glad to see that everyone has landed here and is happily setting up camp again. It's so nice to see everyone out to play. Hope you won't mind another one in the sand box - I don't bite or kick sand, I promise! :goodvibes

Hope you all continue to have great weeks!

Lindsay

Christian can get very absorbed in what he is doing. In Reception Year his teachers asked if he had a hearing problem (although they also said he puts his hands over his ears in music sometimes!) and I was able to say no, because we had his hearing checked as a tiny baby because I was worried he was not hearing. Turns out (like most men!) unless there's food involved he'll only pay attention to what interests him ;-) Then later in the year I got a letter calling him for a hearing test because he had not "ticked all the boxes" during the routine hearing test. So I trailed along the clinic - perfect hearing! He is a very determined character and if he's not in the mood to co-operate then he won't! (although he is getting better at realising that sometimes we have to do stuff we don't want to).

It's that little switch they are born with!!! :rotfl2:

My DD ended up with a black eye for our first WDW trip! She ended up falling off of a rocking chair. What is it with girls and injuries and WDW?

This past March I wasn't even in Florida 24 hours yet. I was at the Magic Kingdom and it had rained. We were walking over towards Tomorrowland from Adventureland. I had got a Dole Whip while in Adventureland. I went to through the empty container away in the trash can in front of The Timekeeper. The cup wouldn't go in the trash can so I tried to stop to get it to go into the trash can but I was on a metal grate, that was slippery when wet. I ended up doing a 360 on my ankle and landing flat on my butt. Some lady stopped to ask me if I was ok. I ended up getting up and walking all over the Magic Kingdom that night. It ended up turning a rainbow of colors and getting swollen. I haven't eaten a Dole Whip since.

I never did get my ankle checked out, because I didn't want to sit in the ER for many, many hours. That was the only day I was in a wheelchair because I only had two park days that trip as I was visiting friends and was down for a conference. In retrospect, I probably should have went and had my ankle checked out as it was all types of pretty colors and swollen for quite awhile. But RICE(Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) was my friend.

Just checking in while I had a free moment. Things have been going crazy here the last few days.
When it rains it pours. DD was playing the other day in her room and fell and busted her mouth on the corner of her dresser drawer. This left a big gash in her gums which resulted in a lot of blood. Ugh! So off the to ER where the doctor there said they couldn't do anything for her and that I had to then take her to the dentist for x-rays. The dentist took the x-rays and said that she didn't fracture her tooth, but that her tooth could turn brown or gray. He said the mouth heals quickly and that by the time her adult teeth come in all should be o.k.
My brother and his wife are traveling with us to Disney World and I booked and took care of all the paperwork for them. They received their final travel documents last Tuesday. I called our TA and she said that ours were mailed out the same day. Now, why is it that the bills, magazines, junk-mail and other garbage comes with no problem, but the one piece of mail that I have been anxiously waiting for, gets lost somehow. TA is looking into it, so I am hoping all work out there.
Received 25 t-shirts in the mail, which I ordered from blankshirtstore.com and got all that I ordered with a slight problem. I had ordered xs shirts for my dd but they sent youth small instead. I guess she will have some nightshirts to wear while we are there too. Not too big a problem Wal-mart had some 100% cotton ones so I substitued those for them.
Still haven't received my dark transer paper that I ordered off of E-Bay yet either. I placed the order and paid for the item right away on Jan 1st. I am hoping that it will come in anyday.
I am glad that I started planning early... otherwise I would really be freaking out right now.
Sending smiles and PD your way that all is well in the DDA
:) :wizard: :) :wizard:

I ordered and paid for my transfer paper on ebay on Dec 31st and it arrived yesterday, so I'm sure it won't be long now, as for the t-shirts better too big than too small, they can always grow into them.
