I hope he comes back around.... he had some fun posts and an awfully cute little girl. Any word anybody???
I PM'ed him, but didn't hear back. :confused3
I think he felt really bad about his PM to Amy judging from his final post, and he seemed scared to post again.

Marti –

Thank you for posting this – I have been struggling with this.

When I lost it yesterday, Tom who was innocent in the whole thing got caught in the crossfire. I can’t imagine that he has lurked on these boards as long as he did – finally decided to jump in and that happened to him.

When I decided to come out of lurking on the DIS - I told a pretty funny story - that actually got me my first tag - but I originally used a poor choice of words for the title of my thread and woke up to a ton of insults. It was very hurtful and I swore I would never post on the DIS again. Most people were very supportive and thankfully convinced me that most of the people on the DIS are awesome and I should give it another chance.

We all know how hard that first post is - and I am so sorry that Tom made the leap and I dragged him into the middle of everything.

I hope that he decides to come back - I have apologized to him in a PM as well.

Tom - you can even put me on ignore!!!! I would deserve it. But this is a wonderful group and you had great designs and we all enjoyed having you post - I know the guys are always happy when another one shows up!!

Plus we all want to hear about your princesses 4th birthday party!!

My sincerest apologies,
Kate

I sure hope he sees this and joins in the fun, because you're right Kate... this is a good group of people and a lot of fun to be around. I missed everybody so much and it was only a week!!

So PLD - come on in! The waters fine!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes meds can cause that. Are you on any antibiotics or other medication? :confused3 Sometimes, switching the meds ie. different antibiotics helps. Hope you feel better soon. :wizard: I had hyperemisis gravidarium with my pregnancies and they put me on Reglan so I would keep things down. It might help with the nausea if you ask your dr. They told me it was completely safe. Ginger capsules can also help.

I had that too. Tried Reglan and every other anti nausea med that the docs could think of. The only thing that seemed to work for me was delivery. I truly looked forward to my 3 deliveries because that meant the nausea would end, and it did instantly all three times. Good luck. They also make prego pops that are lollipops that are supposed to help with the nasea.

I just found out my daughter got diagnosed with some new problem. Something called Dystonia, which I get to learn about now. Not quite sure what it's all about.
Mac, I'm sorry to hear about this. I work (in a roundabout way) in the field of continuing medical education. If I hear anything presented at a lecture about dystonia, I will pass the info on to you. :grouphug: and :wizard: to you, your wife, and precious Mya.

I'm almost caught up here, but I guess I need to see what happened in the "end". It is very nice to see Paul and Marti again and I see Kate apologizing so I must catch up.

Yeah!!, I've read all 50 pages and would like to thank all of you for making this a happy thread to read. I didn't see anything posted negatively, even things that are not positive in life. I'd like to send a good helping of pixie dust to those of you that have received diagnosis for you children with words that are too difficult for adults to handle, for those with children fighting the everyday issues and for those just having a brief run of illness. For those seaking new jobs or just needed a hug. This goes out to all of you. :wizard: :wizard: :grouphug: :grouphug: . My life would not be the same if I didn't have wonderful people like you to share it with.

Deb

I would be willing to follow this thread anywhere.

I thought long and hard about posting this but here goes.
***************If you do not want to bring up a lot of bad memories in your own life then do not read any further.

I had wanted to tell everyone that my wish for the new year was that everyone would have a safe year, filled with rich memories, good times, and be able to get over the occasional bump in the road new year.

But I also know that there are some of us that are having trouble with holidays because someone we have loved dearly has left this world. Each holiday is hard because you remember the special times that you had with that person and it is hard to look past the sad times.
Why we get thru some years easier than others I cannot even to begin to wonder or explain why. But then you get a special note or picture from someone connected to the loved one and it takes you right back to the DAY.

Thirteen years ago my DH's brother was taken away before his time. The first year after was the worst. No one celebrated any holiday. We were like robots. I had a stair stepper in the living room and when my DD asked if i was going to set up a tree, I told her no. She got really mad and i put the presents around the stair stepper and strung tinsel all over it. But in my mind that was all I could do at the time and no one else in the family had a tree so why should I?

He had moved to California and set up a landscaping business and found the mate of his life and they married and everything was so perfect for them. Since this family keeps in touch, he made a video and sent it home for all of us and of course we responded with our own sense of very dry humor. our own version of Brad the landscaper dealing with workers he had picked off the side of the road, hunting from the back deck. the top ten reasons for not using the BIG movie light for taking movies of the family and on and on. Plus every so often he came back to visit because to him, family was so very important

The night of Jan 3, 1993, a Sunday night, we got a call that Brad and Stephanie were expecting their first child. I cannot even begin to tell you the excitement every family member was feeling. Our kids will tell you about Uncle Brad singing Black Bird on his guitar and how they could not wait till he did this with his own child. (My DD had this played at her wedding while my DH and she danced the first dance) not a dry eye in the place.

The next day we got the call that he was dead. Weird thing, he was repairing a brick wall of damage from 30 days before and some idiot that had just been released from the hospital for chest pains was out driving and passed out, went over the median and hit Brad and killed him almost instantly. There was concern whether we would be able to have a viewing because of that kind of injury. (Some of us were in the mindset that we would see him no matter what)

The funeral was just unbelievable. The procession from the church to the cemetary was about a mile long of cars. It was so comforting to all of us. Because of their excitement, they had sent another tape and that arrived two days after he was killed. We could not watch that tape for about 6 months. Funny thing tho, three days after, we all sat around and watched him when he was on The Price Is Right. To hear "Bradley Hartman, come on down!!!!" again was so touching. Afterwards, we all looked at each other with smiles on our faces and someone in the room piped up "Brad still didnt win the Showcase Showdown!!!

Well Jacob was born 8 months later and he is just the light of the family. His Mom comes to visit and he really is coming into his own. He was ring bearer at my DD's wedding on 5/11/02 and if things had been different on 9/15/01 he would have been the same for my DS. In fact his Mom remarried and Jake has a brother and sister. We got his picture this Christmas and this is what stirred my emotions upside down. he looks so very much like his dad.

Love your family and love your life. It comes and goes so very fast. Time is very unforgiving.

Terry

And I will gladly give you all cyber voice lessons! Don't know who the judges will be... maybe your students?!?! :rotfl:

Honestly, Elin, is there anything that can be done for someone who can't carry a tune in a bucket? My mother and brother sing well, I'm truly awful.

I have no idea what happened, apparently I have 49 pages to read here and I have no idea on the other thread. I haven't been able to open the DIS in two days. I finally am using my dial up connection. The cable connection works for the web, but not the DIS. Thanks Paul for letting me know about the new thread. I can't wait to catch up on all the chaos?

Deb

Glad you found us, Deb!

And welcome to Steffy, too!

We are happy here :goodvibes

Kodaly! Also, I teach in solfege because of the ear training benefits. So... I will use solfege in these lessons, ladies. Think Sound of Music, "Doe, a Deer" ...

Do re mi fa sol fa mi re do
Do re mi fa sol la sol fa mi re do
Do re mi fa sol la ti la sol fa mi re do

I think that I need you to hear me to tell me that I'm hitting them all wrong. You are probably really glad that you can't hear me, though. :rotfl:

In middle school we had to do a test at the end of the year in front of the whole class. He used numbers instead of the do re mi, but he'd put a combination of numbers (1-8) on the board, and we had to sing it. He wasn't overly kind in his criticism, and he just couldn't understand that it wasn't completely natural for everyone to be able to do it. IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE CLASS! Since I still feel mortified about that almost 30 years later, you can tell it was somewhat traumatic for me.

GOOD MORNING DDA'ers!!! Just thought I would check in with ya'll while Alex was having his breakfast. Almost one down and one more to go. Can you believe that Elementary School (K-5) buses run at 7:35 and the Middle School (6-8) run at 8:35. It is hard to get an 8yr old up at 6:45 every morning. He loves football so atleast the bowl games are over so he is getting to bed by 9pm now. Before he would stay awake until atleast half time. The highschool bus (9-12) even runs earlier.....I think I hear it around 6:45am.
