I have a music question for you.
DS8 wants to learn to play the keyboard. My older DS11 takes guitar lessons once a week and Alex has shown an interest in the keyboards in the store. I don't want to spend a fortune on a keyboard. I have been told to be sure the keys are weighted and are the same size as piano keys so the move from keyboard to piano will be o.k. What do you suggest??

If you can find a portable keyboard with weighted keys, BUY IT! They are hard to find. More importantly, find one with as many keys as you can afford. The bells and whistles are not as important as the number of keys. Typically electronic keyboards come in 49, 60 and 88 keys (the same as a piano). A student told me that she found one with 70-something keys on it, but I am not familiar with that. The more keys you buy, the longer your son can use it. And make certain that the keys are the same width as piano keys. A salesperson ought to be able to help you out there.
Lastly, make certain that the teacher you choose for your son permits the use of a digital keyboard. Some do not!

I really missed you! (and Denise and Amy)
