I have been meaning to ask you about a saying.
Ok I'm full bloodied British.
Dads side I'm 3rd generation.
Moms side I'm 5th generation.
Anyway when I was little I had a lot of relatives now passed.
Used the expression Jhonny Bull.
What does it mine?
Also does anyone still use it.
My 1 DGM would also always say Churchill would never do this or that.
Talking about the president @ the time.
So everytime I read 1 of your Queens English saying I remember.

Hi Brenda - you have me stumped! Never heard that expression before - I even tried googling it - but all I came up with is it seems to refer to someone as being stubbon.

Paul.....where are you??

I need my morning song to get my work day started!!!

Come out, come out where ever you are.

Lynn

Elin,

I have a music question for you.

DS8 wants to learn to play the keyboard. My older DS11 takes guitar lessons once a week and Alex has shown an interest in the keyboards in the store. I don't want to spend a fortune on a keyboard. I have been told to be sure the keys are weighted and are the same size as piano keys so the move from keyboard to piano will be o.k. What do you suggest??

Lynn

Just wanted to be able to post on page 100. DS is heading back to college this morning after a very short 18 hr. visit home. Wish I could have spent more time with him this week-end.

Another post for page 100!

Glynis, your salmon recipe was wonderful, tried it last night and loved it. Thanks! :flower:

Good morning everyone. Hope you all have a great week!

100 pages. Way to go DDA.

Terry, Congrats on your 500th post. Sorry I missed it, trying to get to bed earlier. 6:30 AM comes quick when you don't get to bed until 2 :scratchin .

I hope that everyone is starting to feel better. We are finally winding down from the holidays and have gotten all our inside decorations down. Need some warmer weather to melt the snow off the outside stuff so we can take it down.

We've had a virus going trough our house and believe it or not the dogs had it during the night last night. What a mess this morning. Wish they would have waken me to let them out  .

Nicholas has a cold sore on his upper lip that is huge. I felt so bad sending him to school today, but they last for several days and according to his pediatrician there is nothing we can do but let it run it's course. He said that school is fine. Poor guy.

Hello to everyone I haven't chatted with lately. Have a great trip if I missed you. Feel better if your still not feeling well. Hopefully we'll all be through all this viral cr*p soon and back to our old selves.

Deb

Heading off to work..........you know I will be checking in later....bye for now.

Morning!

Well it was back to school for Erich this morning. Not sure I'm happy or sad about that.I liked having him around. :)

Hope everyone is feeling good this week. :flower: We're 9 days into it but today seems like the begning of the "new" year to me!

Have a Marvelous Monday!!! :sunny:

Deb -- Poor Nicholas. My husband and I both get cold sores (both of us had the virus before we met each other). Mine are always huge, throb and really make me feel terrible. Randy's are usually small and don't really bother him. Anyway, there are a number of over the counter things, plus some prescription things that can help. My husband tries to remember to take Lysine every day. He said it really helps as long as he remembers to take it. Also, always wear lip sunscreen when outside -- summer and winter (snow reflection -- I used to always get them when I went skiing). There is a prescription cream --Zovirax, that is helpful if you put it on when you first start feeling the tingling. Randy has also had some luck with over the counter Abreva. It shortens the time you have the cold sore. I just called him to see if he had any other suggestions. He said there is something new he tried -- over the counter liquid, that someone told him about at work. He can't remember what it is, but said he would ask when he sees the person and will call me so I can let you know.

Hi Jen :wave2: Glad to hear your trip is off to a good start! Can't wait to hear more about it.

Hey, I'll celebrate with you! :cool1: WTG! 500 posts!

I'm up for a little while longer. I have self-diagnosed either strep throat or tonsillitis. Spent most of the weekend sleeping and now that it's time for normal people to sleep, I'm wide awake. I'll probably conk out in half an hour or so. PD please, that I can get a doctor's appointment -- and some good meds -- in the morning!
