Thanks so much Kate. This is great info. I went out this afternoon and bought myself a small clipboard - 97 cents at walmart. I think I'll do the 4x6 size instead of the 6x6. My girls are older (17 & 20) so we usually only have one picture with the characters. If I do decide to actually scrapbook (always intend to but only have 3 12x12 pages done in 6 years), I can put both the picture and autograph on the same page. You'll hear from me if I have problems. :rose: :flower2:

You sound like me, I have a couple more pages done probably in 6-7 years, always intend to scrap and I'm always buying stuff, just never get to sit and do it without the kids nagging to do and by that time I am over the inclination!!!

Can I add some autograph pages? :teeth:
I prepared all the pages before we went and had them in a 6x6 album arranged according to groups (Fab 5, Cinderella and everyone from her movie, etc...). Had lots of plain pages in the back, in several colors. Carried the album and about 15 colors of pens in a gallon ziplock in our park bag. Had them sign directly on page and added photos when we got home.

Some done before we left:

And now one I didn't have ready before we left....had her sign on the plain blue paper, and just coordinated picture page when I got home.

It was quite a trip! We ended up getting 56 different autographs that trip. I'd done 40 of the pages before we left, and luckily had taken enough extras for the others. (I have to admit, I did not make pages beforehand for Queen of Hearts and King Louie....but did when I got home!) As you can see, some are more involved than others, but it was lots of fun to do, and I just used scrapping supplies I already had on hand. Now if only any of my other albums were actually done.... :rolleyes1

TIP: Make sure to put "this book belongs to..." and your name and address somewhere in the book (or any autograph book!). If, heaven forbid, it is lost in the parks, if they find an address in it, Disney will mail it back to you! ::yes::
Those are cute, too. ::yes::

We now have high speed internet!!! I can't wait to go home and play with it! I hope it is a lot faster.

:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Once you go fast, you'll wonder how you EVER used dial-up..... ::yes:: ::yes:: Enjoy!!!! :flower2: :rose:

Thank you so much Marti. I have tears in my eyes. You are all so generous. I didn't realize how much this had upset me as well. It is something that has helped keep my dad in our lives. He was a very special man and even after 8 years the loss sometimes seems unbearable. He loved kids and spent lots of time with them.

He called my DD20 TwinkleToes and started her ballerina slipper and related collection. Of course, Cinderella's slipper is part of that. She loves all things related to ballerinas (and was never in dance). Every year they get a "Thinking of You" gift from Dad with the most current addition to their collection. My mother has something to do with that, of course.

Actually, he is the reason that we went to Disney. He retired 6 months before he died. He had told me that if we didn't take the kids to Disney by the next summer, he and mom were taking them. It took me 5 years to recover from his loss enough to fulfill his wish and take them. In March, we will have went for a week three years in a row. We keep adding a day.

Sorry for the novel. Thanks again for checking it out for me Marti. If there is ever anything I can do for you, let me know. Vicki

I remember seeing Tinkerbell on TV during the Chistmas Day Parade, it was towards the end of the show from DL. Maybe you could check with them. I also left a message with our DVC guide to see if he could help out.

OK. My DD17 loves Tinkerbell. It is her connection to my father who died 8 years ago in a car accident. He used to call her Tink and started her Tinkerbell collection shortly before we lost him. Last year, I called WDW to see if we could get Tink's autograph. Now, I know that she can't see Tink except during Wishes and so does she. I was told that we could take her book to Guest Services at Magic Kingdom and they could get Tink to sign it. However, when we got there, we were told that we were given incorrect information. She was devestated.

I would like to do something to get this so important autograph. Any ideas? I've thought about just signing it myself somehow while she is out and wait until she finds it. We'd then tell her that Tink must have snuck in while we were sleeping. I've also thought about doing something like having mousekeeping leave her an envelope on her pillow with pixie dust and Tink's autograph. I thought you creative people might have some ideas. Thanks in advance. Anyone have an idea how Tink's autograph should look?

She wants to suggest to Disney that Tinkerbell should have a couple days a year that she magically gets enlarged to normal size. Kind of like in the Robin Williams version of Peter Pan when Julia Roberts Tinkerbell makes herself Peter's size. The kids would be told that it is special magic that can't be used all the time. This way those that really love Tinkerbell could meet her in person.

What a beautiful story - so special!

I haven't caught up, so I don't know if anyone has any ideas, but...

I was in DL last week, and Tinkerbell appears in the Parade of Dreams there - she's "people size" and is on the very first float. I know it's a long shot, but maybe the Disneyland Guest Services (or someone going to DL sometime soon) could see if they could get Tink's autograph, if she signs.

Oh - I just had another idea! I have a tank top I got this summer at WDW that has a stylized portrait of Tink on it, and it has her signature. I'd be happy to trace it for you and send it to you, so if all else fails, you could have a "do it yourself" autograph. Let me know!

I think it has gotten out of control everywhere....Our school district here in CO...with one of the lowest dropout rates in the country also just got stricter....it is one week of absences...excused or unexcused and you are in trouble. Family trips now count as unexcused no matter the circumstance :sad1: . It all comes down to funding the state pays for each students hienie in a chair and they have a convoluted system that they can pay less if the child is out of school for more than a week. Ah government!!

I think it's a disgrace that we don't get to make a parental, educated decision whether to take them or not, it is made for me by some fuddy duddy concerned with funding which comes from my taxes, my kids are missing a 2 week cruise to Alaska in September with 15 people, some from AU because of this, we played with the idea of 'home schooling' them for those weeks and then registering them late but DD is starting middle school so we didn't want to make it a harder adjustment for her!!!

Like a mailman...neither rain, or sleet, snow, fog or hail was going to stop me...and that's exactly what I drove through today to see the grandbaby. He's cute as a button...hope everyone had a good day. Off to go drink a glass a wine. My knuckles still hurt from gripping the steering wheel. ::yes::

Glad you got there safely. Enjoy that grandbaby!!!!!

I love that idea too. I love Disney music. Have since I was a kid. Don't know a lot of the newer ones but I know many from the original movies. We used to go to the drive-in to see them. There is something even more magical about watching a Disney movie on the large drive-in screen.
I remember doing that too. I miss the drive-ins. They were great. :sunny:

Busy busy week.
Packed up the hallway lithos.
About 35 to 40, all Disney.
Packed up the den.
Spakled all the holes.
Sprayed the texture.
Saturday I'll paint the den & hall.
Move the P.C's & desks to the den.
Then DH is moving into the 3rd bedroom.
We had used for the P.C's before.
He says he won't contise the D.
For now he's being so nice.
Even Ramiro thinks he's up to something.
I just hope it stays this way.
At least as long as we have to share this house.

I love the idea of printing the pages out 6x4 and then putting them in a photograph album with the photos you took fo the characters. Wish I'd thought of that actually...

I bought a small spiral spound note book and printed the pages out on coloured paper 6x4 - then I glued them to the pages of the book (it had quite think paper - cardstock do you call it?) I stuck them to right side pages so I can glue the photos of us to the left side pages.

Here's some of the pages:

The dwarfs page has the lyrics to heigh-ho written around the outside as a border.

I've got a few pms so I'll send the images out to those who wanted them :goodvibes

This is just great Clare! Thanks! :flower2: :rose: Between you and Kate, my sister's first trip to Disney will be quite the occasion..... :flower2: :rose:

I don't know if this is true or not, but there was another thread on the Restaurant Board (I think) that said that there might be a fairy character meal coming up. Someone asked what fairies, and it was mentioned that perhaps Tink and the new Disney fairies would be making appearances. I don't know if that's true, but you could ask around about it.

I hope that Marti can come up with something. If not Marti, I'm sure someone will. I'm not creative, or I'd come up with an autograph and send it to you. Sorry.

Everyone on this thread is so generous and caring. I love it here! Thanks for evcen wanting to help. I knew if any group could help me, it was this one. I've had a couple of pm's as well as posts in this thread to help. This year my daughter will get her wish one way or the other.

Ok, I just had to share this :rotfl:

Kyle is too cute..... I've told him time and again that he should at least read along, and that the DISboards are NOT just for Disney nuts.....

So for a few days he's at least made an effort to read over my shoulder.

Well, he totally signed up for an account  I said something today, and he told me he had already done it! He won't post anything yet, but we've almost got him hooked. ..... ;)

I am going to try & be brave lol I will let you know :)
