We were told about 3 months ago that come July 1st he would be getting a significant merit increase in his paycheck (more than 10%) along with a Cost of Living. Well today he comes home and tells me that it is only the cost of living which is a whole $52 more a month. Now of course our insurance will go up so it will end up being about $20/month! I am so PO'd right now as he has not had any merit increase in his salary in the last 8 years and we have only had the Cost of living the past 2 or 3. He works for the University of MD which is has been in a budget crunch for ever! Eric cannot understand why I am so ticked off as there really isn't anything he can do. We have certainly thought about looking elsewhere for a new job but the benefits of this one are too good. Free college for us and the girls, not to mention he has a work vehicle so no use of our car back and forth. Free cell phone and numerous other little things. I just feel that we will never get ahead. Not to mention he busts his but for the job and it seems as if he just gets the short end of the stick.
Thanks for letting me get that out!
Vent away, Robyn! I totally understand being in a similar position myself. Especially if he was told it would be coming and then isn't. That's not good. I hope that things improve for you soon or a better choice opens up to you.

I need my good morning laugh every day and you are so good at providing it.
I know.... we must be rednecks.
and
for those that need it. Hope everyone has a great day.
It's a good day when something doesn't get on me by lunchtime. I am going to look for Zout while I am out and about this weekend.
