Now that I am caught up, I need to vent so don't feel obligated to listen but I got to get this out as if I try to talk to Eric he just gets upset and it isn't good.

We were told about 3 months ago that come July 1st he would be getting a significant merit increase in his paycheck (more than 10%) along with a Cost of Living. Well today he comes home and tells me that it is only the cost of living which is a whole $52 more a month. Now of course our insurance will go up so it will end up being about $20/month! I am so PO'd right now as he has not had any merit increase in his salary in the last 8 years and we have only had the Cost of living the past 2 or 3. He works for the University of MD which is has been in a budget crunch for ever! Eric cannot understand why I am so ticked off as there really isn't anything he can do. We have certainly thought about looking elsewhere for a new job but the benefits of this one are too good. Free college for us and the girls, not to mention he has a work vehicle so no use of our car back and forth. Free cell phone and numerous other little things. I just feel that we will never get ahead. Not to mention he busts his but for the job and it seems as if he just gets the short end of the stick.

Thanks for letting me get that out!

Vent away, Robyn! I totally understand being in a similar position myself. Especially if he was told it would be coming and then isn't. That's not good. I hope that things improve for you soon or a better choice opens up to you. :wizard:

Hey guys- can you spare some good thoughts and/or prayers for my brother...
he has been working his butt off in his firefighter course...Always in the top 10 on every test and practical exam they do..They had their final test today and his instructor said that the state changed it and most people would fail..he is crushed! he will find out next week. Hes been saying if this doesnt work out, hes going to join the military..so its going to be a rough couple weeks of waiting! please keep him in your thoughts! thanks

Many buckets of :wizard: :wizard: for your brother! Hopefully, since he has been ranking so high all along he won't have a problem.

Good morning DDA!!! I'm off to do a really stupid, boring, aggrevating project for work. Yippee!

Good Morning DDA,

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: To all who need it

Extra :wizard: that Nick's test turns out fine

Robyn I fully understand your frustration in the situation, hang in there.

I just read in the paper that our governor has given the ok for rate increases in our homeowners insurance, mine will be going up 20.3%, not that it was any surprise. If I lived just one mile north of where I do it wouldn't be increasing, I just happen to be south of the line they used to determine the increase.

My DD called last night to let me know that my DGS fell yesterday and busted both lips and his front tooth is cracked, she is going to call the dentist today and try and get him in, please spread a little PD his way that he at least won't need a root canal. I fear this is just the beginning with accidents for him, he can be a "Wild Child". I hear he is following in his Daddy's footsteps on that one.

Well it's time to head off to work,

Have a Blessed Day,

Debbie

I'm home. Got here about 11:00 last night. Pal Mickey was here to greet me. He is looking forward to a fashion show today. He also has a tent and sleeping bag to check out. He is only home for a couple of days. We have to get him and the girls packed for their trip to Japan. They leave Sunday morning. I'm also packing up 6 build-a-bears with accessories for my brothers stepkids & baby.

It is kind of funny. Since everyone around here hunts I'm sure my kids would have suggested getting a gun and shooting it. Whenever they see deer they say they need to call Buddy and tell him where the deer are. He never gets them during hunting season :rotfl: I know.... we must be rednecks. :lmao:
I have actually been putting off Hunter's Safety for the older 2 as they really want to hunt with the Adults, but I don't feel safe with my little ones in the woods armed. What is a mother to do?

Deb

I guess I'm a redneck too. Chuck keeps threatening to get his gun out when the deer are in the backyard eating all of our garden & flowers. Then one comes through with a fawn & we are all gushing over how cute it is. A year later, we want to shoot it.

They just decreased the hunting age for kids in Michigan. I don't remember what it is. My girls aren't interested - thank goodness! Many of their friends do hunt.

Quickly scanned the posts. Here's some generic pixiedust: and :grouphug: for those that need it. Hope everyone has a great day.

I'll be on over the week-end but probably briefly as we are packing the girls up for their Japan trip. Mom will be here tomorrow to bring her dog for me to sit while she is there. Chuck's parents are coming over for a couple hours tomorrow as well. His dad is really stressing over Chuck. I probably shouldn't have told them. However, they were on the phone & asked me. I don't like hiding things.

Chuck had a rough couple of days with me gone. He didn't even make it to work yesterday. I was late for my meeting on Wednesday so that I could stay home and help him get ready for his meeting. He says some things are better while others are worse. He gave me permission this morning to call the doctor if I wanted to. :lmao: Obviously, he isn't going to call and complain but I'm supposed to. Ya gotta love it!

DBF finally got me into the Bass Pro Shop a few weeks ago (it was after a BABW trip, so I owed him). I have refused going in for years since it is the "store of death." But I found some decent things in there: Crocs (or croc knock offs), Tommy Bahama stuff and cast iron skillets and dutch ovens. I didn't want to cary the cast iron skillet around the store since it's heavy. Then of course I forgot to go back for it. Drat. Now I'll have to go back in the store of death. Fortunately, it is near the BABW store with my fave sales staff, so it will be a trade.

The things we do for:

Just wanted to thank everyone for the replies last night. I know that it isn't the end of the world or the worst thing that could happen, it is just frustrating. So thanks for letting me vent and get it out of my system. :goodvibes

and that's the best part of this group :goodvibes ;we can vent, scream, cry, laugh and be joyful and there's always someone here. They listen, scream, cry, laugh and be joyful with us. Through the thin and thick of our lives!!

Good morning everyone!!!!!!!!!

Hope you are all have a great day - sending everyone a little extra pixie dust today!!!!!

Jennifer - I don't really worry about putting my kids pictures on here - I guess I think they have a better chance being nabbed at the mall than someone coming here -

Paula - apparently that money tree actually grows in the forgotten city of atlantis which they still haven't found yet but some claim they have despite what everyone says. There's rumors that if you dig a 4 foot 3 inch hole and put a dollar bill a dollar bill that's older than 1921 that's torn it half diagonally from right to left and water it once every full moon and twice in july that it'll grow in remote parts of Oklahoma. :teeth: :lmao: :teeth:
