Ridley do you have any idea when the next book will be available? Secondly have you decided on a location? Loved your KK first book and read Ellen Rimbauer a long time ago when it first came out (loved it too). Can't wait for KK2.

Not sure when it will be published. First, I have to WRITE IT. My hope would be late 2006 or early 2007, but that may be unrealistic.

Good now I can stop searching for where I read it.

June

that is great news - I can't wait to meet you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too. Although in some ways I feel like we all have known each other forever!

I'm off to bed now to read as well. Everyone have a great night! I don't know if I'll be around much tomorrow because we have to get the kids ready to leave early Sunday morning for Japan. I'll definitely be back by Sunday afternoon!

That's sounds so cool! A train trip would be neat. I'll have to add that to my list for some day.

This particular train trip isn't really long, but should be fun. We leave Poughkeepsie at 1:01 p.m. and arrive in Washington around 6:30 (and this includes a stop of around 35 minutes to change trains). I found a code online that brought the price to $265.20 round trip for BOTH of us. I figured it would have cost me at least $150 to drive down (gas, tolls, parking), plus wear and tear on my car and my nerves, so it will be worth it. We have to make the 8-9 hour drive to VA Beach in August, so it's good to know we don't have to make one to Washington.

I have had a blast today and sadly it must come to an end as I have a splitting headache and need to get Emma to bed. Friday night is Girls Slumber Party in our house. I may check in tomorrow morning but will be MIA until Sunday sometime.

I am headed to Atlantic City with my mom, cousin, MIL and Grandmother tomorrow afternoon on a bus trip. Maybe I will strike it rich!

Good luck in AC! hope you win!!!

Speaking of trips, I decided to take the train to Washington for the DDA meet. I can catch the train in Poughkeepsie, change at Penn Station in New York, and on to Union Station. Then the metro to the hotel. I haven't taken a train trip before (except for the commuter to NYC and Amtrak once to Albany). I'm really looking forward to it. I wasn't looking forward to driving to Washington on a Friday afternoon (or even being a navigating passenger, since Melanie was going to drive). Now we're both looking forward to the weekend.

June,

I am so glad you are coming. It will be fun

Jennifer -- thanks for asking about DHs arm. He seems to have gotten very lucky (plus has the DDA praying for him so that helped as well!!). Half of his arm turned bright red and swollen, with a dark purple center the size of a nickel. We just knew that it would open and get all gross....but the antibiotics he started immediately, along with the cortisone (and some other prescription) helped save the day. It is still a little pink, and there is a bump where the purple was, but it seems like it will all heal.

I can't wait to see pics of the trip and the new house!

Thay's great news, Marci! I am glad that the healing has gone so well.

I think so too. Are we all wearing crocs, socks, flip up sunglasses and fanny packs? :lmao:

Oops - forgot to quote. This is in reply to Terry's post about the DC trip.

I haven't worn anything but SAS (well, I do have a pair of Crocs now) since 1999. I'm on my third pair of walking shoes, I have a pair of black moccasin style (for work with pants) and a pair of sandals. Once you put on a pair of SAS, your feet are spoiled forever. I exaggerate a little, I do have a couple of other kinds of shoes, but they DO NOT stay on my feet for more than a couple of hours! What makes it really hard is there is no SAS store around here any more. I have to get mine in Virginia Beach! Good thing my son lives down there! Of course, he says "You paid HOW MUCH for a pair of shoes?"

Well, we're packed and just finishing up some laundry. My brother just called and he doesn't know if my SIL is coming or not. She is really having a horrible time with her Dad's suicide and is very depressed, having panic attacks, and has lost 26 pounds (she weighs less than 100 pounds now). He said the marriage is in trouble unless things turn around. So I'm praying they can work on it together and both come to the beach. Please send PD that it's a good week. He's coming regardless, but BK is in LOVE with her Aunt and will really miss her company (me too).

I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL. I will be praying for her, your BIL and their marriage. I can't imagine how hard this has been on her or how hard it is on their relationahip. I will also pray that she decides to go to the beach. I think the break and being surrounded by loved ones would be helpful to her. Especially with the loving and adoring company of BK. That has got to help anyone.

June,
If you know the pair you want, did you know they will ship for free?
Thank goodness we have one here in Lancaster.

Yes, I knew that. The store in Viriginia Beach would ship to me, too, but since I'm down there 3-4 times a year, anyway, I just take a trip to the mall when I need new ones (which isn't very often, as they last and last). I've had the sandals since 1999. The elastic on the back strap got too stretched out, so I took them to a shoemaker. $3.00 later - like new!

Good Morning DDA,

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: To all who need it

Extra :wizard: that Nick's test turns out fine

Robyn I fully understand your frustration in the situation, hang in there.

I just read in the paper that our governor has given the ok for rate increases in our homeowners insurance, mine will be going up 20.3%, not that it was any surprise. If I lived just one mile north of where I do it wouldn't be increasing, I just happen to be south of the line they used to determine the increase.

My DD called last night to let me know that my DGS fell yesterday and busted both lips and his front tooth is cracked, she is going to call the dentist today and try and get him in, please spread a little PD his way that he at least won't need a root canal. I fear this is just the beginning with accidents for him, he can be a "Wild Child". I hear he is following in his Daddy's footsteps on that one.

Well it's time to head off to work,

Have a Blessed Day,

Debbie
Poor dear. :wizard: Hope they get him fixed up.

Quickly scanned the posts. Here's some generic pixiedust: and :grouphug: for those that need it. Hope everyone has a great day.

I'll be on over the week-end but probably briefly as we are packing the girls up for their Japan trip. Mom will be here tomorrow to bring her dog for me to sit while she is there. Chuck's parents are coming over for a couple hours tomorrow as well. His dad is really stressing over Chuck. I probably shouldn't have told them. However, they were on the phone & asked me. I don't like hiding things.

Chuck had a rough couple of days with me gone. He didn't even make it to work yesterday. I was late for my meeting on Wednesday so that I could stay home and help him get ready for his meeting. He says some things are better while others are worse. He gave me permission this morning to call the doctor if I wanted to. :lmao: Obviously, he isn't going to call and complain but I'm supposed to. Ya gotta love it!
