The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 9

I have slept 18 out of the last 25 hours and still feel blech!!!

I am going to try and catch up:

Kate: I couldn't hear the ringtone but my ears hurt for a half hour after playing it. So glad Nick did good with his EKG. I personally am with him "I good girl I go see Cars again?" :teeth:

Paula: so happy to see you typing again...hopefully things slow down for you. I am a Notary and I only bring in a couple of extra $'s a month (all goes to Disney) but I am also not able to advertise my services....the church paid for the Notary and it is a convenience for the congregation. Here's some :wizard: that you find a money tree and spread the wealth through the DDA!!

Dawn: sounds like you're one busy pregnant lady. I vote for Lauren also. The main reason was while reading the name choices I couldn't decide which way you wanted us to pronounce Caroline. I guess sometimes it's also a good thing I don't have a viable digital camera....no blackmail photos of my multicultural hands!! My boss is such a neat freak that my hands still being blue one day later was driving him nuts!!

Denise-I think saving money AND having two bathrooms is an awesome way to do Disney!! Can't wait to hear how the kids liked it. With our trip being moved back a year I am exploring doing one of the values....we'll wait until it's closer to booking and ask everyone's opinion!!

People always tell me I am just like my mom and I always thought that was a huge compliment - but now I know that the best compliment is when they tell me Julia is just like me!!! :goodvibes

Awwww.....

I will have to find some magical place to find new work clothes anyone of Pooh size have any favorite stores?

I've had some good luck with Land's End at Sears-they have women's sizes.

You've gotten some great advice

I do disagree with Amy on one point - when Julia was 3 she was nervous when we first saw the characters in the park - after our first character meal - that all changed - the same thing happened with my niece when she was 3 - seeing the characters walk around and talk gave them a chance to watch the characters safely from afar for a while and then have the safety of the table between them and the character when they first approached - the characters are really good at the character meals of gaging the kids reactions -

You might also start with a meal that is face characters - I love the 1900 Park Fare breakfast - it is a combo of face characters and Pooh characters - both of my kids love it!!

ETA: while I disagree with Amy - I don't think she is wrong - just presenting a different point of view! :teeth:

Isn't it amazing how every child is different (and of course, age plays a factor) :goodvibes

Just the opposite happened for us when we booked a character meal right away, but it was her encounter with JoJo (in the park) that alleviated her apprehension for the rest of the trip.

Alyssa wasn't too thrilled with the Mad Hatter at 1900 Park Fare though...I had to hold her on my lap. :teeth:

Amy :)

My experience has been closer to Kate's. On our first family trip when Emma was 11 1/2 months and Joe turned 3-niether wanted anything to do with the characters in the parks. But Emma LOVED Tigger at CP lunch for Joe's birthday. Joe finally warmed up the the characters as we were leaving. He went right up to Pluto the next day but it was our last day at Disney. We did do CRT earlier in the trip but Joe & Emma weren't into the princesses so I guess my advice would be....if the child has a favorite character maybe try to seek that one out first either at a meal or in the parks.

Okay. I need my DDA enablers, er friends right about now... :cloud9: :cloud9:

I'm having such a year. I need my Disney fix sooner than December. I really want to go in December to see the CP and Osborne Lights and MVMCP. But I need to get to Disney before then.

I wanted to go for tinker1bell's birthday again, but that is not to be...

I wanted to go for Food and Wine, but my coworker is going at that time, her first trip and she's taking her 92 y/o mom with her. So October is out. I won't go in July or August no way, no how.

So that leaves September. I could go for my birthday. (3rd week) I called DVC and booked a 2 bedroom villa. I hope that my DD and her family can come with me. I know that my sister could come with me.....

I would still have the family trip in May for my son's 10th wedding anniversary. I just don't think I can make it another 170 days. 93 sounds long enough!!!

What do you think???? Help me!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Chuck's results are back. Negative for lupus, lyme disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. However, they did find some kind of imflammatory joint disease but don't know what. Chuck has an appointment with a specialist in Green Bay now on June 21st to have more tests.

Vicki-I hope Chuck finds relief and answers. I've had shoulders problems in the past and know just how painfull it can be and it is impossible to get away from the pain-for me laying down made it worse. I finally got relief when I got pregnant with Lizzie. I think the hormones worked to loosen things up for me.

I've been making more autograph pages. They are coming out well (at least on the computer screen). Does anyone know which character's from Cars will be appearing at MGM?
Deb

I saw Mater and Lightning McQueen when I was there in May. You could take your picture with them but no signatures. They were sort of just there-so you got other folks in your pictures too. Maybe they will have organized lines now that the movie has opened.

A question...

I posted this over on the UK board but would welcome your inputs too :)

As you know we're off to the World in November this year and I really want to upgrade our MYW tix to APs... which means we get to go again in 2007, but can't go during our fave time - the first two weeks of November.

So... when should we go?

Tell me your favourite time of year for a visit... what the crowds are like... and the weather... and why it's your favourite time.

We'll probably be doing 10-12 nights and most likely staying off property but that's up for discussion...

Can't wait to hear your suggestions :)

I've read that now you think you won't do this but just in case you redo the math....I have never been in May until this year and early May was GREAT!!! I would absolutely go then again with the Flower Fest and the weather was perfect and the crowds were really low.

I've also liked late Oct for the MNSSHP. And Early Dec can be great too but I worry about flight delays due to snow here and there is always so much to do at home that time of year.

Deb -- we were there at the same time! The girls and I were there from October 18-23. And the weather was terrific, except for the downpour on Saturday night.
I was there then too!!! I remember that rain. DH had brought Joe & Lizzie to swim while my friend, Emma & I went to DD. They didn't get to swim long and thankfully we had a rain cover for the stroller.

:wizard: that the irregularities turn out to be nothing. :grouphug:

I am so sorry - I forgot to check back in - it went well

he was SO good - I told him they were going to listen to his heart and that he had to lay still and they would put stickers on him - he laid right down on the table and didn't move or talk until she told him he could! I guess he remembered what happened when he didn't lay still for the catscan!!

The test didn't seem erratic to me - but the nurse did say she saw some irregularities but she didn't know what they meant - so they will get back to me in about 48 hours - so I am guessing Friday - especially since my doctor only works on Tuesday and Friday!!

We went to McDonald's and got him a happy meal - that was his reward - which he knew ahead of time - and he would do anything for cars - the toys are REALLY nice!! Although he did say to the nurse - me good boy now me go see cars again!!! Good thing Steve and I want to see it and we plan on going to see it this weekend with them!!

And Happy belated 7th birthday to Daniel and Kirsten. Seems like a lot of us must have been pregnant at the same time as Lizzie just turned 7 and Beth's son too.

Thank you from Daniel!!

Yea, what were we all doing around September 1998?? :lmao: ;)

I wish we would get a sunny day! One of my co-workers gave me a lady bug stepping stone (I have a thing for lady bugs) that is supposed to glow in the dark. However, it has to be charged by the sun first. We haven't had any sun, and I want to see it glow!!
June-I hope you've had some sun but I bet you could just bring it in and put it under a lamp to "charge" it. Have your cats seen it yet?

I just paid off my August/September Free Dining Trip! Ain't no stopping us now!!!  :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2: :dancer: :dancer: party:

Congratulations!!!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc I'm sorry we will just be missing you. I bought plane tickets last week. 8/22 to 8/29. I was all set to pay $205.60 each nonstop RT as I figured with oil prices I might not do any better than that but the day I was going to buy them I got a Ding from SW for $105.60. :Pinkbounc

And I'm very excited that my friend's DH is also going with us. He LOVES Disney. I think it will be great for my DH to have another guy around and I'm hoping some of our friends enthusiasm for Disney will rub off on my DH.

Anyway, the two names are Caroline and Lauren. The middle name is Elizabeth. Our last name will go well with all of them. I don't want to post it here but if you can't choose without knowing, PM me :teeth: .

One name is DH and Christopher's favorite. The other is my favorite.

I like Lauren Elizabeth better! I only know 1 or 2 laurens..

Anne Marie[/B] - Daniel's picture is so sweet! I hope he had a wonderful birthday. Now that you've organized all of your pictures you're welcome to come here and organize mine from the last 10 years :teeth:

Thanks!!! Yea, maybe I will start a service where I can organize other people's pictures for a fee? :lmao:

So glad to hear everything is going well.

Caroline is one of my favorite names. If we ever had girl #3 she would be Caroline. I just think its a cute name for a girl & an elegant name for a woman.
