I hope Emma is feeling better this morning and that you had a better night than we did around here.

Terra woke up cying hysterically several times during the night. She started having a runny nose yesterday morning and was sneezing fairly frequently. From time to time she also seemed a little warm. Then just in time for bed she apparently got more congested as she was snoring and kept waking up. Unfortunately the waking up came as screaming cries and constant talking in her half-sleep state asking or requesting undeciferable things that got worse when I could comply with the request because I couldn't understand it. Luckily, she seems to be sleeping more soundly now and hopefully she will be better when she wakes up since we're supposed to go to the aquarium and whale watch with my family today.
:wizard: I hope Terra is doing better now.

I think it does look orange, but I don't think it looks bad. I think pale green would be nice, as long as you don't mean minty green.

For instance, look here at some of the Aurora clipart and you will see her hair in different shades. http://www.disneyclips.com/mainpage.html

Opinions needed please! :)

Could you please click on this link and tell me if you think the princesses look "normal" on this wallpaper border? I'm thinking Aurora's hair is pretty orange...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1#ebayphotohosting

Also, if you like this border, what do you think of pale green walls to go along with it?

Thanks,
Amy :)

It does look orange to me but I like all the others. If you decide to go with it I think the pale green walls will be nice. I am assuming you are matching the green in the leaves on the border.

I also think Aurora's hair looks a bit too orange. I do think that pale green walls would be pretty with it, though.

It does look pretty orange but other than that it looks fine. If it is what you want I thinnk it would go well with pale green walls.

So no more group home for me. I have worked all of my scheduled shifts and refuse to work anymore. I will leave the phone on like I am supposed to but I will have the volume turned off. As after what happpened yesterday, I was considering walking out and leaving the consumers by themselves and not showing up last night. But I didn't have the audacity to do so but was seriously considering it.

I worked at the one job from 8:30am to 4:30pm on Friday, came home and attempted to sleep. I worked midnight to 8am at the group home. Or that was what I was supposed to work there. I was supposed to be at my other job at 8:30am. That never happened as the person who was supposed to work at the group home never showed up. :guilty: I ended up having to call my manager so she could work there. I am so glad I have an understanding manager who was able to work as otherwise it could have stunk big time.

I called at 8:05am to get someone to come in and told them I needed to be at my other job at 8:30am. No one called back by 8:15am so I called again, they said that they would call someone to look for someone. No one called by 8:30am so I called back. Finally someone called back and said they were trying to find someone I said I had to be at work at 8:30am and I was now late. I called my manager to tell her that I didn't know that if I would be able to make it to open at 9am as I was still waiting for someone to show up. She told me she would open and that I should just show up at 11:30am like she was originally supposed to. Which I thought was super nice of her.

I called several more times to try and get someone else to look to find someone else to come in. Someone called back and asked how long I can hold out and I said I was supposed to already be at my other job at 8:30am by this time it was already almost 9:30am :furious:. They said I should have told someone that and I was like I have told that to every person I have talked to and it hasn't done any good getting anyone to show up yet. By this point I was serioulsy considering just walking out and leaving as the consumers were all sleeping.

About this time my Mom called me and asked where I was and I said I was still sitting at the group home. She was like what do you mean, I thought you were supposed to be at your other job. I said I sure am, but no one showed up here so I had to call my manager so she could work. My Mom told me I should just not show up for my last shift and should call off, but I didn't feel that was fair to the people who would have to find someone to replace me. My Mom finally understood why I handed in my two week notice as she couldn't believe this happened. It was like a  went off in her head.

It was almost 11am, by the time someone else showed up and this person came from another home to just sit there. As I said I absolutely had to leave and couldn't stay anymore and I needed someone to get here ASAP.

I ended up going straight to my other job and was there till 8pm. My manager couldn't believe that it took that long to get someone else to show up to replace me. I went home and slept for a tad bit before I had to go back at midnight. 20 hours of work in a row and I had to do 8 more. But I survived and it is all over. They are not getting me to work, no matter how hard they try. :cool1:

I gotta get crap together for bridging on Wednesday night. Too much to do and too little time. Plus I have a headache that won't go away. Not sure how much I will be around.
:grouphug: Heavens that sounds so frustating. I agree that I wouldn't work another shift after your last. Good luck with your ceremony Wed. :wizard:

I have been scrapbooking for years, but still am about a year and a half behind. It really is an expensive hobby. The market just keeps growing. I, too, love the new Disney products that CM has. I can't justify buying those, though, until I get caught up.
My oldest is 7 and I haven't finished his baby album. I skip around though. Maybe we should have a DDA scrap meet some week-end. :rotfl:

Well,

My oldest "baby" officially graduated from high school today. My youngest "baby" turned 7! I am feeling older by the moment!! Here are some pics:

Nice pictures, your oldest looks so handsome. Your other kiddos look cute as well. :goodvibes Is DS going to be at home this summer or will he be leaving soon? I know when I graduated I went off to college that summer to get a headstart and my mom missed having that adjustment time before I left. So she wouldn't let my younger sis leave til' fall. :teeth:

I would love to start scrap booking but i dont know where to start. I bought a bunch of scrapbooking stuff when I was at disney. But I am a bit afraid to start.

It is the shopping for myself gene that I missed. I have black dress shoes, navy blue dress shoes, white sandals, tennis shoes, water shoes and two pair of crocs. That is pretty much the extent of my shoes. I might have 5 other pair that I hardly ever wear!!!! I have one purse. When I get tired of it, I buy a new one. I have about 20 pairs of pants (including dress pants, casual slacks, and jeans). I probably have 20 long sleeve & short sleeve dressy shirts and 30 tees (because of Girl Scouts only), 15 sweatshirts, 5 sweaters, 5 dresses, and 5 shorts. That is about the extent of my wardrobe. Oh I can't forget that I do have two dressier suit outfits.

I'm also the kind of girl that takes a shower in the morning, brushes her hair, gets dressed and that is the extent of getting ready. I figure I'm clean what more can someone want. Chuck takes longer in the bathroom than I do.

Maybe that's why I went overboard with my kids, their dolls and Pal Mickey!!! :rotfl:
Too funny, I have my pair of airwalks and a pair of sandals and a pair of high heels. I haven't replaced my tennis shoes (worn out) yet because I really only wear the airwalks. My DH owns more clothes than me because I keep waiting til I lose weight to buy more clothes. I do love shopping for Effie because I love baby clothes. Maybe when I'm out of kids to shop for I'll need a PM to dress. :teeth:

The tour continues :)

Here is one angle of our kitchen...while we don't have as much counter-space as we do at our current house, there's still a lot of room:

Here's another angle of the kitchen. There's a huge walk-in pantry (on the other side of the refrigerator), but I didn't take a picture of it:

This is the dining room, attached to the kitchen:

Here's the living room and front door:

And finally, here's the family room, and the sliding glass doors leading to the backyard:
The house looks nice. I would love a craft room, it always takes me forever to lug all my srapbooking stuff down to the kitchen table and than I have to pick it all up. I hope you have fun decorating, and getting the nursery all ready. :wizard:

Hi everyone--there is no way i can catch up fro mthis weekend--so i just wanted to post that i was home!

it was an INCREDIBLE weekend!!! It was very hard and there were many tears shed, but we also had alot of happy moments and we made a lot of good friends. Alyssa's family was so nice and we enjoyed spending the time with them, and we are planning on going back again for a longer visit..
Last night we ended up watching a movie of Alyssa and looking through pictures..We got to see her room, which was pretty emotional, but it was so cool.
Today, we went to the actual Kride event..This was amazing!! there was a 100, 50, 25, and 10 mile ride, so before each one went, they dedicated it to alyssa and alyssa's mom/sister got to cut the ribbon. My brother did a great job and ended up finishing 2nd of the 10mile riders--he is aiming to do 25 miles next year! The weather ended up being good--a bit rainy on and off, but nothing too horrible. We got to hang out with her family and friends and they just accepted us as family...

I wanted to share some pictures! (i know , i go way too overboard sharing pics!)

This is my brother and I before he started the ride

This is a wall that they had the bikers sign to leave messages and/or pictures of who they were riding for..thats my brother and alyssa's sister signing

Alyssa's mom and sister cutting the ribbon

Some of "team alyssa" with the poster that was there for her dedication (im all the way to the right, standing on the podium)

A close up of the dedication poster

my brother,,,getting ready to go!

And finally, this is the back of the shirt that we all had on

I wanted to thank you all for supporting me so much lately..its been a rough month (today is one month since Lyss died)..I appreciate it more than you can know!
:grouphug: I'm glad the weekend went so nicely. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Amy - here is a picture of the wallpaper in another auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/DISNEY-PRINCESS...342773738QQcategoryZ20432QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

is that wallpaper seconds? otherwise - it might just be their camera

when I was looking at vera bradley bags - the turquoise looks like a different color in almost every auction!

I was going to suggest that you email the seller Amy, to ask if Aurora's hair really did look that orange. Sometimes it's just hard to get a good picture of things!

I would love a craft room too.

Thanks for your replies everyone! I was definitely thinking of a green that matched with the leaves, not anything too minty. :)

I did email the seller earlier, but I asked about Snow White's hair. I've seen this border at Home Depot, and I don't remember Aurora's hair being orange, but I do remember Snow White's hair being almost gray, unlike the seller's picture where it looks black (as it should be). He's going to think I'm a nut when I follow up with asking about Aurora's hair, but like Kate said, ebay auction pictures differ quite frequently!

What I like about this border is it's self-adhesive, but I don't want the princesses to annoy me every time I walk in Alyssa's room! :rotfl:

Kevin has to go to a meeting, so I'll be back later. Thanks again!
Amy :)
