My girlfriend's DH just started his own business right before Christmas and she says the same thing, that he works harder now then he ever did before.

What a great thing that you were able to do for the the employees after 9/11.
Tell your girlfriend to hang in there it's hard at first but with a little :shamrock: hopefully it'll pay off. I know my DH is much happier at least because he enjoys what he does as opposed to working a job he didn't like and dealing with office politics and ladders and such. Now just to get the profit up to go with his happiness. :teeth: And to get him to let go sometimes.

It's a world of laughter, a world of tears.
It's a world of hopes and a world of fears.
There's so much that we share that's it's time we're aware,
It's a small world after all.

It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small, small world.

There is just one moon and one golden sun,
And a smile means friendship for everyone,
Though the mountains divide and the oceans are wide,
It's a small world after all.

It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small world after all,
It's a small, small world.

Tee hee!! I knew as soon as I typed it you would "sing" it for me!!

As of the 28th of May "It's a Small World" celebrated it's 40th year at DL and between 4 parks the song is played about 48,000 times a day?

Could I please have some prayers and pd for my dad, who is undergoing a heart cathaterization (sp?), probably as I type this. He had a stress test last week and there was some blockage, so now they are doing this to figure out the next step. They may not need to do anything, insert stents or do surgery, depending on what is found. He had a heart attack, about 15 yrs ago, and an angioplasty. A year and a half ago he had stents put in for blockage, and now maybe again. Hopefully it will all go well.
Absolutely. :wizard: and prayers. I hope they don't find anything serious and he recovers quick.

 How exciting. When do you leave?

We leave for DL at 5:00 Sunday morning. Our plan is to drive through, stopping in Vegas for lunch and a run into the Disney outlet store, and then on to our hotel. We have ressies at Rainforest Cafe at 7:30 in the evening, so I'm hoping we get there early enough to shop in DD as there are several items I need to pick up. I can't wait!!!!! I'm so excited to be going with Alan and no kids. We did this on our honeymoon, and had such a great time! It will be nice to do it again, now!

Glynis, how long will you be gone for?

I know that by this time the procedure is probably over, but I'm still praying for your father and for you! We went through this with my mom last year, and I know how scary it is! Please let us know how he's doing, and if you need anything else, ASK!

Paula, have a safe weekend traveling!

Glynis, I hope you have a fabulous time in DL. Take lots of pictures to share with us when you get back!

Rees' surgery is set for 10am Monday. We have to be at the hospital at 7:30am. John is going with us. Rees will hopefully get to come home on Tuesday. I have no idea if they have internet at the hospital, but John will have his Blackberry so I'll try to post. Do I need to change the skin to the mobile setting for this to work? If not, I will call someone to have them post for me.

Before I went to sleep I reminded myself to ask Glynis about the book. I think that's going to be on my list of reads.

My book group is reading The Tortilla Curtain. Not sure how I like it yet.

A friend told me yesterday to put down all my books and stop reading because I have too many stressors in my life. She said she's had to do that a couple of times. I usually can read 2 or 3 chapters an hour right now I am at 10 pages so maybe she's right.

I really liked the book. It was so interesting!

If I was ever told to stop reading, I think I would turn my face to the wall and die! I just can't do it! I'll give up anything else you like (except the DDA) but don't make me give up my books! I admit that I'm addicted to reading. I'm usually reading 3 or 4 books at a time. One in each room of my house and the car, too.

So, tell me about the Tortilla Curtain. It sounds interesting.

Please pray for Phil right now. I don't know what is going on as I'm at work, but he sounds like he is on the verge of a total breakdown. It is being caused in part because some combination of the high calcium and Vitamin D they had him taking has been keeping him so drowsy for over a week that he can barely function. Now he seems to have come to the end of his rope over these feelings. Luckily, he is of good enough mind that he has made an appointment for this afternoon with a psychologist. For now, I just need him to get himself and Terra into the city and to me safely. He won't be driving so there isn't a danger there, but they can get to me faster than I can get to them and I think time is of the essence as too relieve as much stress as possible as soon as possible. He has asked me to go to the doctor with him so hopefully I can help convey what has been going on lately if he can't. Thank you for any prayers and pixie dust you can spare as this is all a little scary.

Oh, Tia! I'm so sorry! I'm praying for Phil and Terra and you. I'm sure this has been resolved, but I'm still playing catch up! I'll continue praying for all of you! I hope that the doctor can help him!

I'll tell you more about it when I've read more of it :teeth: ! So far I've only read 4 or so chapters and it really hasn't gotten into anything. Kind of a yawn so far. It looks like it is on Cassidy's English class reading list for next year.

I had to finish a fluff book I was reading.....oh my goodness my face was like this  most of the book....no matter how hard I tried that little editor in my head that turns off for those "ahem" romance scenes wouldn't turn off!!
So if in need of a steamy fluff Brazen by Carly Phillips is right up your alley. :rotfl2:

I am in TOTAL shock! Brian and I have been wondering what happened to Chuck and Vicki! I was so excited at getting Vicki's PM I unplugged my laptop, and ran it outside to show my husband! He couldn't believe it either!!!! I am SOOOO EXCITED!!! Partly, to find out that Chuck and Vicki are Disney nuts too!!!

Let's all sing, "It's a small world after all, ....."

It's the coolest thing I've heard in a long time! Now, we just have to work on getting you and Vicki together in the same room! That would make things perfectly perfect!

Theresa - I like that... "steamy fluff" I'll have to remember that one :teeth:

For those that might travel across the Canadian border, since the passport regulations have started going into effect, the border crossings have been getting a little more strict. Make sure anyone 18 and older has a goverment issued photo ID AND either the orignial birth certificate or certified copy of your birth certificate. You need something to show that you are a US citizen (birth certificate) so the US customs will let you back into the states, and the government issued ID (drivers license, state ID) shows your picture to match your birth certificate. If the names are different (for you married ladies out there) bring a marriage license to show the name change.
That alone should make people start getting passports. Plus with the requirement to have them for cruising by the end of this year means that the beginning of next year there are going to be TONS of discounts for cruising because alot of people arn't getting their passports...so ships are going to be "looking" to fill by offering BIG discounts. And don't wait until the end of the year to get one! Everyone will wait until last minute, and the wait times now are already running at 7 weeks instead of the normal 4. Visit www.travel.state.gov for more information.

Ok. There's the end of my TA speech/rant. Thanks for listening! :teeth:

Glynis I hope you have a fabulous time at DL. DOn't stress over the food, if you drink water and walk a lot you will be fine. I ate lots of junk (even ice cream) last Sept and I lost 3 lbs due to walking and water.

You just enjoy every minute of it!!!!! (take more notes for the PDZ, we might have missed something for adults).

::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo pooh: :eeyore:

I plan to take lots of notes. I haven't been to DL childless in 16 years, so there might be oodles of stuff to learn. I can't wait!

I know I will miss you before you go so:

Have an awesome time at Disneyland!!! :bounce:

We expect lots of pic's and stories upon your return!!

Hey everyone! Thanks to my FANTASTIC husband, I had a few minutes to catch up!!

The NCLEX is done at least  I'm pretty torn on it. I mean, I think I passed for one (fairly safe assumption) reason. It cut off at 75 questions. You can most certainly fail in 75 questions, but I'm told it gives you the beneft it of the doubt and lets you keep testing until you REALLY prove you're incompetent if tha'ts the case. Most people that stop at 75 pass. However..... the questions sucked. You know when you get something narrowed down to two choices and guess? Well that was like 70 of the 75 questions :rotfl: It didn't take an hour even though, so that was nice. I'll let you all know when I find out (in the next few days).

As far as the other thing going on, DDA prayers are reigning it in a bit anyway. Continued thoughts would be greatly appreciated, but I feel confident enough to at least tell you what's up, with one thing happening already this morning!

In mid-May ..... we bought a house!!! I didn't mention it here because of all the bumps we hit along the way with the mortgage. I was terrified something else was going to go wrong, so I didn't really want to focus on it much (anymore than I already was IRL). Even until today, we hadn't got a straight answer on our closing information. Pretty much, people are stupid. When we set a closing target date (June 9th), it was suggested by the people involved, knowing darn well about our trip. Now all of a sudden they are freaking out that we won't be accessible up until the day before.... so I'm a little nervous.

We did finally hear this morning that we have an appointment set up for the 9th at 10:00am. My mortgage guy was working his butt off to have everthing finalized a week early (today) so that he would not have to contact us at all during the cruise (and make us spend even more money and time trying to communicate via email). We're still waiting on his call, but I know he's doing his best. And the financing was preapproved, so there shouldn't be any problems... but it will be nice to know it's 100% completed and awaiting our return.

So I'm supposed to have my entire house packed, plus the cruise stuff (and hope they don't get mixed up), plus take this test this morning, take my sister's homeschool team to their Olympic day (which thankfully got rained out and rescheduled  ) so I was pretty much pulling my hair out yesterday.

But while I was gone, Kyle got up early and packed virtually EVERYTHING here for the house!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's great :teeth: So I have a few errands to run, and need to double check the cruise stuff, but then I should be all set.

So if you want to continue praying, just pray that we have no surprises waiting for us when we come back. It's still a little scary knowing that we come back less than 12 hours when we're supposed to meet, and who knows what could happen before then!!!! We're pretty thrilled about the house though.

So that's that. I'll check in again either later tonight or tomorrow morning before we leave. Talk to you then!

Congratulations on the new house!!!!! What a fantastic thing! I'll pray and keep my fingers crossed that you have no unpleasant surprises when you get back from the cruise.

Kyle is a gem! How great of him to pack up for you! Keep him around!!!

Enjoy the cruise and look forward to the new house when you get back!

Glynis, how long will you be gone for?

This is going to be such a quickie trip I'm almost embarrassed about it! We are driving down on Sunday, going to DL/DCA on Monday (Alan got free 1 day hoppers through his work), Universal Studios on Tuesday (same deal with the tickets), beach on Wednesday morning, and then drive home. We will stagger blindly into our beds at some horrible dark-thirty hour Thursday morning. I'll probably sleep most of Thursday away, and then park myself here at the computer to catch up, and let you all know I'm ok.

It's not much of a trip, but I'll take what I can get!
