So here was the highlight of my day. Ignore the girl on the right, becasue I think I look almost as bad as I feel! I was kind of coming down with something but I think the heat is just making me feel even worse! And it isn't even summer yet! I hardly even touched my food at lunch, so hopefully it will make for good leftovers


But I'm pretty proud of my Dr. DH!

I'm off to read and then maybe sleep.... have a good evening!

We had a wonderfully fun afternoon. Six kids ranging in age from 3 to 8, and six adults. The kids swam all day, even though the water was freezing!! Then we grilled burgers and dogs, and ate and ate and ate! Summer is finally here!!

I spent this morning at mass getting volunteers for the festival which is in two weeks.

I have been feeling really bad about upsetting the new parishoner (the Bible School Volunteer Coordinator) but talked with another committee member today who backed up my decision and said that our director obviously was not paying attention when we had our last meeting

Today our former pastor who retired 3 years ago celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination. So we went to afternoon mass and his reception. It was very nice - he was the founding pastor of our parish and he waited to retire until he could build our church - we are the youngest parish in the archdiocese (17 years) and he was there for 14 years - he had to get special permission to stay - it was really nice to honor a man who dedicated his heart and soul to our parish!!

Then we went to dinner - and for some reason Nick decided the booth across from us had a dog under it and kept pointing it out to us - the people sitting there started to get suspicious so we finally told them that he was convinced there was a doggy there - so when Nick was peeking under the booth the man barked - so then all Nick kept saying was "me hear Doggy" it was very funny and the man thought it was hilarious!

I'm so excited. I found another Yooper DISboard member. They live about 1-1/2 hours away (near where Katrina goes to college). I might actually be able to get together sometime with another Disney fanatic without driving 6-8 hours.

Hope everyone had a good day - we've been to the seaside It's a place called Weston Super Mare - but is known by the locals as Weston Super Mud... because usually the sea is so far out you can only see mud

It was very windy! We walked along the sea front and then played miniature golf {DH beat me AGAIN... I will beat him one day } then we had chips from the fish and chip shop - which are the tastiest chips

We were supposed to go to the movies tonight to see Xmen 3 but after all the fresh air I crashed out when we got home and slept for a couple of hours instead! - so we're watching the repeat of the AI final and playing a board game.

{This is one of the unfinished areas of the house as neither the living room door nor the frame have been painted!}

Your seaside looks very different than the seasides her on the Northeastern coast. We have beaches for sunbathing, but I can't think of any areas up here that have picnic tables on the sand or even food stands on the sand. We do have piers with shop/restaurants/games etc. Most shops and food areas are off the beach along the roadside.
