We had a wonderfully fun afternoon. Six kids ranging in age from 3 to 8, and six adults. The kids swam all day, even though the water was freezing!! Then we grilled burgers and dogs, and ate and ate and ate! Summer is finally here!!

I like your new avatar, Tammi!

So here was the highlight of my day. Ignore the girl on the right, becasue I think I look almost as bad as I feel! I was kind of coming down with something but I think the heat is just making me feel even worse! And it isn't even summer yet! :confused3 I hardly even touched my food at lunch, so hopefully it will make for good leftovers :guilty:

But I'm pretty proud of my Dr. DH! :teeth:

I'm off to read and then maybe sleep.... have a good evening!

Jennifer, you look great as usual and the good Doctor's smile is priceless.

I'm so excited. I found another Yooper DISboard member. They live about 1-1/2 hours away (near where Katrina goes to college). I might actually be able to get together sometime with another Disney fanatic without driving 6-8 hours.

That is terrific news, Vicki!

Congratulations. 2000 posts and I bet most of them are with the DDA!!!!
Deb

Yup! About 1800 of them, and I joined the DIS back in 2001. :goodvibes

Chris had a wonderful time at the Red Sox game. Apparently he even got to touch the Green Monster. This to me was not a big deal and I asked him if it was the wall or the Mascot :rotfl: :rotfl: to which he replied the Mascot is Wally. Apparently he didn't think I was funny. He walked in the door at 1:35 AM which was exactly 10 minutes after I went to bed and just long enough for me to have dosed off. I admit I was a little alarmed to hear the door open so early. I thought he'd be another hour or so. We got up this morning and went to my Parents and helped uncover their pool. It is a lovely shade of green and some frogs were calling it home. Hopefully it will be ready to swim in in a few days. It took a couple of hours to pressure wash the crud off the winter cover and get it dried, folded and put away. After lunch we headed home. My Parents watched the boys so Chris and I could go for a Motorcycle ride. We had perfect weather today, high 80s and no clouds. The ride was beautiful except for one small incident. As I was riding along at 50 miles per hour a hornet few up my shirt sleeve and proceeded to sting me not once but twice. It took me a minute to bring my bike to a stop on the road side and remove the hornet. Neither of us were happy :rolleyes1 What immediately came to mind was an incident or two from this morning. One of my parent's neighbors got a new motorcycle. She has ridden with her dh for years, but finally bought one of her own. She is very new to driving a motorcycle and as she was turning out of her side street onto the main street she drove straight across the street into the ditch, missing the left turn she was trying to make. She and the bike were fine. We helped her out of the ditch as her husband chewed her a new one. She proceeded to go back to her house, turn around and did the exact same thing again. This time Chris suggested that she take the motorcycle to a parking lot and practice before she hurt herself or someone else. Needless to say her dh did some more yelling at the wife. We guess she gave up on the ride and went home. However when I had the hornet in my shirt stinging me I can't imagine what a novice rider would have done. It wouldn't have been pretty.

After our ride my Mom and I went grocery shopping. Once home again I had a quiet evening with the boys (all 4 of them :rotfl: ) We are all pretty red as we finally had sun and were outside all day. You can tell where the sunblock wasn't applied evenly. Tomorrow is supposed to be another nice day. I certainly hope so.

Congratulations, Dr. Kyle!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for all of the comments! I passed the congratulations on to Kyle. He said he was very appreciative, but is still going to be rude and not come on and thank you himself

Have a good night all! :goodvibes

Where is everyone today? Deb said we had to post 100 pages this week-end and we are a long way from there! :lmao: I'm off to bed now!

Deb--- Hope you can get some answers if you are able to grieve on the tax appraisal. From one pet lover to another. Our thoughts are with you on taking care of the older pets. I just do not know what we would do if we had to deal with another cat of ours having troubles right now.

Debbie--- I can remember taking the antibiotics and having that ole problem come up. it was a real PITA.

Paula--- Those were the most awesome pictures. If the three people meeting at WDW counts last year. My sister (tinker1bell's sister), Steffy and my other sister had made plans on the first thread to meet up last September. Does that count?

Tammi--- Hope things are looking better for Shane.
Hope Alyssa is doing better.

Amy--- The CAT RULES!!!! Hope the two house thing ends soon.

Lynn--- hope the camping trip turned out to be lots of fun.

Kate--- Hope Steve's procedure went OK. Is Nick getting better? How is your knee?

Marci--- I remember when my one friend got to go with me to DL with my family. It was just for one night but we really had a lot of fun

Marti & Paul--- Hope Paul's new job is going good

Julia--- I know that Pal Mickey is going to have such fun on your cruise.

Dawn--- I can remember too many years ago having to have those glucose tolerance tests because of too many infections. I got so used to just saying as the Dr walked into the room. No there is no Diabetes in my family, I just get these a lot.

Robyn--- Thirty years ago when there was still such a thing as cloth diapers, I loved getting diaper service for a few weeks. Now just some pampering would be just as wonderful.

June--- hope your weekend was lots of fun

Jennifer--- Congrats to hubby Dr Kyle
I hope your test goes well.

Denise--- Good to hear you were able to use that ticket to get your Mom to come. Hope everyone else is doing fine.

Glynis--- I remember our neighbor's son would get sick and sleep for a day too. I know that sleep helps me too.

Becky--- Hope the crowds weren't too big at Hershey

Claire--- Your hair looks great. Did your Vet mention that food high in fiber helps the cat drink more thus keeping the urine flow high to keep everything free of crystals? The one thing we learned the hard way was to stop giving any human food at all. To the tune of about $500 to have Cobain's plumbing rearranged (his pee pee removed and now he just has a hole) Plus he did tell me that cats do keep a grudge a long time when you go away and don't take them :lmao: Like I was going to take them to Ireland. :rotfl2: We had to have the rug cleaned in the one spot and padding removed, and subfloor polyurathaned to get rid of any urine smell

Elin--- congrats on 2000 also hope all the recitals went as planned

Kelli--- welcome back from Vegas

I have not been on lately because I am in a funk. I want to go back to WDW but it just will not happen.
But I am getting excited about going to DC with Steffy. And of course in about eleven days will be going to the shore.
We have off tomorrow. But back to the grind on Tuesday.

I thought since Steffy and I keep an eye on each other I didn't think to give my address to anyone else. Will do that tomorrow.

Sounds like the May meet was loads of fun.

Terry - that was an extremely thorough post!! You should check your work mail this week -

Steve has always told me that Julia is a mini me and she has spent her weekend proving it!!

Yesterday we were falling asleep and I told her we needed end of the year gifts for her teachers - and she says to me

"how about if we go buy little blocks and make them into a key chain that says LECC" - her building has a huge set of building blocks like this in front of it so she wants to make them a mini one

I was very proud of her creativity - so we went to michaels to get the blocks and I said - what if we make them a tote bag too - and so we went to pick them out and she says no- let's make them aprons for when we do crafts!
I thought she has awesome ideas for being so young - and we are doing both

then as she was going to bed - she asked how I knew which cup she wanted her drink in - and I said cause if I were you that's what I would have chosen - she started giggling and said "Mommy - we are so much alike they should have called you Julia!!!"

People always tell me I am just like my mom and I always thought that was a huge compliment - but now I know that the best compliment is when they tell me Julia is just like me!!! :goodvibes

It has been quiet again tonight. I've been reading trip reports :thumbsup2 I guess I should go to bed as the kids will be up soon :guilty:

Deb

You all were quiet tonight!!

We watched Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants(read the book too!!) tonight after going and finding some new work clothes for me and shorts for Jim. I was so mad at the selection (or the lack thereof) for me. I did buy some airwalks for myself. The red, white and blue ones...my first crocs or fake ones. I will have to find some magical place to find new work clothes anyone of Pooh size have any favorite stores?

All of a sudden after taking care of sick kids all week, I don't feel well. So I probably will be off til Tues.
:wizard: and :grouphug: for everyone.
Congratulations :cheer2: to Kyle.
Everyone have a great Memorial day. :goodvibes
