Thanks for the kind comments on my hair everyone :goodvibes I know it suits me much better short but I wanted it longer for the wedding which is why I spent so long growing it... when I had it chopped off the first time a couple of months ago I was really nervous about it and practically everyone in my dept at work stopped me to say it looked good!

The funny thing is that photo was taken the day after I had it cut a couple of weeks ago and I was sure I'd been scalped... looking at that picture I think it looks really long :rotfl2:

Clare -- thanks for sharing the pictures! Someday we'll get to the UK... it's way up towards the top of our list! :thumbsup2 Your hair looks good, too! I don't remember it being that red from your wedding, right? I'm not crazy? :rotfl: I love the color and cut, though! :goodvibes
You're not crazy, I'm naturally blonde and it was blonde for my wedding... then I went red for my vow renewal and party... in that photo the red was quite faded... but after reading about your hair dye questions on Saturday I remembered I had a box of dye in the cupboard so its now properly red again :)

So here was the highlight of my day. I'm pretty proud of my Dr. DH! :teeth:

I was kind of coming down with something but I think the heat is just making me feel even worse! And it isn't even summer yet! :confused3 I hardly even touched my food at lunch, so hopefully it will make for good leftovers :guilty:

I'm off to read and then maybe sleep.... have a good evening!
COngrats to Kyle - and :wizard: that you feel better today.

You two make such a cute couple :)

BBrrr...looks cold there.

This is a new Clare-ism.....Dodgy?????? You look beautiful.

It was cold - there was a 30 mile an hour wind blowing! The sun made a brief appearance but was gone by the time we got the camera out!

I just tried to look up the definition of dodgy... I suppose it means not quite right... not a very good standard... it's a great word because it can be used in so many contexts...

ie for a sunken cake... that cake looks a bit dodgy... did you remember all of the ingredients?

for uncooked chicken... that chicken looks a but dodgy.... it's still pink in the middle...

for your resulting stomach ache... I feel really dodgy today... I ate some uncooked (dodgy) chicken last night...

for a photograph... you look a bit dodgy in that photograph... why were you pulling a funny face?
:teacher: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Dr. Kyle!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need a pediatrician around here!!! ;)

Clare - I love you hair and that the picture is by the front door!!! And I took that picture - I am so honored! That means two of my shots are not screensavers!! Funny how you can get cool pictures without your kids around!!!

I need to look through the rest of your photos, and Tammi's. I love artistic shots... my brother took some fantastic ones on our trip, I should share some of those - he's a much better photographer than me.

When did you go to England to take a picture of Clare by her front door??!! :lmao:
That's exactly what I though when I read it... and I was like :confused3 did Kate come visit me and I missed her??

Your seaside looks very different than the seasides her on the Northeastern coast. We have beaches for sunbathing, but I can't think of any areas up here that have picnic tables on the sand or even food stands on the sand. We do have piers with shop/restaurants/games etc. Most shops and food areas are off the beach along the roadside.

Deb

In the summer when it's a bit warmer people sun bathe on the sand on deck chairs that you can rent... it's a typical english seaside... with lots of tacky shops selling cheap souvenirs and sticks of rock and candy floss!

I love to go there for the day but would never sun bathe or swim there!

Chris had a wonderful time at the Red Sox game. Apparently he even got to touch the Green Monster. This to me was not a big deal and I asked him if it was the wall or the Mascot :rotfl: :rotfl: to which he replied the Mascot is Wally. Apparently he didn't think I was funny. He walked in the door at 1:35 AM which was exactly 10 minutes after I went to bed and just long enough for me to have dosed off. I admit I was a little alarmed to hear the door open so early. I thought he'd be another hour or so. We got up this morning and went to my Parents and helped uncover their pool. It is a lovely shade of green and some frogs were calling it home. Hopefully it will be ready to swim in in a few days. It took a couple of hours to pressure wash the crud off the winter cover and get it dried, folded and put away. After lunch we headed home. My Parents watched the boys so Chris and I could go for a Motorcycle ride. We had perfect weather today, high 80s and no clouds. The ride was beautiful except for one small incident. As I was riding along at 50 miles per hour a hornet few up my shirt sleeve and proceeded to sting me not once but twice. It took me a minute to bring my bike to a stop on the road side and remove the hornet. Neither of us were happy :rolleyes1 What immediately came to mind was an incident or two from this morning. One of my parent's neighbors got a new motorcycle. She has ridden with her dh for years, but finally bought one of her own. She is very new to driving a motorcycle and as she was turning out of her side street onto the main street she drove straight across the street into the ditch, missing the left turn she was trying to make. She and the bike were fine. We helped her out of the ditch as her husband chewed her a new one. She proceeded to go back to her house, turn around and did the exact same thing again. This time Chris suggested that she take the motorcycle to a parking lot and practice before she hurt herself or someone else. Needless to say her dh did some more yelling at the wife. We guess she gave up on the ride and went home. However when I had the hornet in my shirt stinging me I can't imagine what a novice rider would have done. It wouldn't have been pretty.

After our ride my Mom and I went grocery shopping. Once home again I had a quiet evening with the boys (all 4 of them :rotfl: ) We are all pretty red as we finally had sun and were outside all day. You can tell where the sunblock wasn't applied evenly. Tomorrow is supposed to be another nice day. I certainly hope so.

Deb

Ouch!!! I would have completely freaked out if a hornet had stung me!

Glad you have some :sunny: - could you possibly package some up and send some over here :teeth:

Claire--- Your hair looks great. Did your Vet mention that food high in fiber helps the cat drink more thus keeping the urine flow high to keep everything free of crystals? The one thing we learned the hard way was to stop giving any human food at all. To the tune of about $500 to have Cobain's plumbing rearranged (his pee pee removed and now he just has a hole) Plus he did tell me that cats do keep a grudge a long time when you go away and don't take them :lmao: Like I was going to take them to Ireland. :rotfl2: We had to have the rug cleaned in the one spot and padding removed, and subfloor polyurathaned to get rid of any urine smell

I'm going to investigate some different types of cat food... we have their annual check up with the vet next month too so I'll ask for some more advice then. He seems to be ok for the moment... luckily we were here when he made a puddle on the carpet and cleaned it up straight away so there's no smell or stain.

Terry - that was an extremely thorough post!! You should check your work mail this week -

Steve has always told me that Julia is a mini me and she has spent her weekend proving it!!

Yesterday we were falling asleep and I told her we needed end of the year gifts for her teachers - and she says to me

"how about if we go buy little blocks and make them into a key chain that says LECC" - her building has a huge set of building blocks like this in front of it so she wants to make them a mini one

I was very proud of her creativity - so we went to michaels to get the blocks and I said - what if we make them a tote bag too - and so we went to pick them out and she says no- let's make them aprons for when we do crafts!
I thought she has awesome ideas for being so young - and we are doing both

then as she was going to bed - she asked how I knew which cup she wanted her drink in - and I said cause if I were you that's what I would have chosen - she started giggling and said "Mommy - we are so much alike they should have called you Julia!!!"

People always tell me I am just like my mom and I always thought that was a huge compliment - but now I know that the best compliment is when they tell me Julia is just like me!!! :goodvibes

:goodvibes so adorable :goodvibes

Good luck with the gifts - post us some pictures when you're done :)

I have not been on lately because I am in a funk. I want to go back to WDW but it just will not happen.
But I am getting excited about going to DC with Steffy. And of course in about eleven days will be going to the shore.
We have off tomorrow. But back to the grind on Tuesday.
I understand the Disney funk :grouphug: . I hope your other trips bring you enjoyment.

OUCH! I was attacked by a hornet when I was in high school and I know how painful they can be. I'm so glad you were able to keep things under control. That could have been catastrophic!!

Ask Julia if she wants to come help me with our teacher's gifts, and if she has any suggestions!! Nicholas' teacher is retiring after this year, so she won't need anything that would be used for school.

:wave2: Hi All! I think I'm still recovering from my trip! It was wonderful but exhausting.

I just finished reading about 150 pages that I missed. :grouphug: and :wizard: to all.

Paula-LOVED your photos! WOW!!!

Amy-congrats on you new home and continued :wizard: for selling your old one. I think your DDA friends are CRAZY. Have they seen the photos of you? You couldn't have 2 babies in there!

Janet-prayers for you, your DS and the coach's family.

I've got lots of other catching up to do. I'm still working on uploading photos. Now that I'm caught up here, I'll work on a trip report.

Welcome back, Bernadette! I can't wait to hear about your trip.
