Day One – Thursday, May 18th

Wow! that's some first day! Great car :thumbsup2 Good that you got the earlier flight too - I might have to try that on our Newark to Orlando connection - there's a flight before ours but we didn't want to book it in case there's a problem with our inbound flight and we can't make the connection in time.

WTG Kristine for getting the hot seat too - and :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: that Kate "stole" it - I hope she was suitably embarrased when you told her  :rotfl2:

I can't believe Jonette's wedding was this weekend too! I haven't been over on the wedding board recently so I missed that it had come around so quick!

Can't wait for the next installments :thumbsup2

May 18 DDAers -- I thought you were staying at Pop, but it looks like you were at the Dolphin?

I talked to Jonette on Friday after the wedding. She was so thrilled that you all joined her at her dessert party!! A family member took photos and burned them on a CD, which she took on the honeymoon cruise with her. So when she gets back, she'll have photos to share before her professional photos are ready. Can't wait to see them!!

Jennifer

She may well have her profesional pictures back by then too - we got ours 10 days after the wedding - on the day we flew home from Disney - we took them home with us

I've seen the hotels of course, but I've never spent any amount of time in them. The longest I've been in the DL hotel was to have breakfast at Goofy's kitchen.

We always stay across the street from the main gate at the Park Vue Inn or the Best Western Park Place Inn. I'd love to have some info. I think others do too, that way we can decide where we want to stay.

I will work on some info a little later next month. I have a full schedule the next two weeks and the info would take a little work to get. I will build a spreadsheet about it all.

Garrett just came home from school & the gentleman that passed away where I work at was his soccer coach. I feel so bad, I did not realize it was him. He was slumped over so I could not tell. Garrett goes to school with his daughter & she was also on his soccer team. At school today they had the team members go to a classroom so they could let them all know. He was 46 years old & died of a heart attack. Prayers for his family :grouphug:

Hi all just got home. the wedding was outdoors and very beautiful. we couldn't keep Olivia off the dance floor. The visit to Waco with Jeff's dad was nice even if it was very short. Okay time to catch up.

Glad to hear you had a great time.

I've learned not to promise anything about trips. The DC trip is on hold due to the new findings with Rees. We've had to cancel the kids b'day party on June 10 and it will be in mid July now. and if he needs surgery, the trip is off due to recovery and money. It may be off due to money anyway. I will keep y'all posted.

PD that your plan do not have to change and you get to go on your trip. Continued prayers for Rees.

Gotta go now - will finish catching up later - just wanted to say May 18thers - love the reports - love the shirts - love the pictures - love the fact that Minnie kept holding onto PM whenever you saw her - and the fact that you made a pass at donald :rotfl:

pixiedust: :tink: :grouphug: :cheer2: and :wizard: to all who need it, particularly Garrett and Andrew (who need it for opposite reasons).

Hope the finger gets better. Does it feel jammed in the knuckle? Maybe you need to pull the tip of it to pop the knuckle and get it back in place. They did that to me last time I broke a toe (yes, I've tripped over the same suitcase TWICE and broken a toe on each foot  ) and it helped. I had no idea it was jammed, just felt broken.

**Update on Andrew and another request

This season has been a turning point for my son Andrew (age 10) in baseball. His coach from last year and several of the parents of players on that team have come over to me during/after games to comment on the progress Andrew has made. He is enjoying himself, still learning a lot and developing more self-confidence. As many of you remember, he has ADHD, dyslexia, a verbal expressive disorder (has trouble decoding but not articulating) and sensory issues. He excels at soccer but really wants to be able to keep up with his cousin who is awesome at baseball.

Andrew also got a boost in self-confidence last week at his end of school awards ceremony. He received perfect attendance (for the third year in a row), a citizenship award (he received the most votes from teachers for a third grader), an award for improvement in creative writing AND was voted on by his class for the citizenship award for their advisory.

All of this from a child who was considered to be a problem child in pre-school because his ***** teacher couldn't tell he had all those issues!

I'm coming to you tonight to ask for more good thoughts and Pixie Dust for him as the two baseball games (and wrap-up of a game under protest) this week are the most important of the season. While winning would be great, I'm most concerned with Andrew playing his best so that he can continue to build on his achievements/self-confidence. You guys were so wonderful the last time, and I truly believe the will of the DDA (along with his hard work!!) helped him.

Thanks again for your help. I am indeed, indebted to you all.

It has been a busy day here today. Good to hear from everyone again. I had tried to log in this morning, but my connection was so slow that I logged off. I've been having trouble with my dialup software the last couple of days so I knew it was time to uninstall/reinstall the software. As I was doing that I ran my antivirus and anti spyware software and it found a Trojan Horse virus. It literally took hours to do a complete scan. I ended up taking a nap with the kiddos. When the older kids came home, Nick decided to play a game on my computer which is a no no, we have an old computer for that. He quit two applications that I was running so I had no idea how to finish getting rid of the virus. I ended up restoring the computer to yesterday and having to uninstall/reinstall a bunch of software and rurunning the antivirus stuff. If that wasn't bad enough my printer decided not to load any paper so I spend a couple of hours trouble shooting that. :furious: My finger is still very swollen and black so now I'm unsure if it is just bruised or maybe broken :confused3 . I think that all of the computer issues are behind me, but didn't get to work on Nick's project today other than running to Walmart to scan photos and print them. Tomorrow his project must get done. I hope that tomorrow is a more productive day.

I did manage to get my hair permed this morning so hopefully I will start looking a bit more put together.

Well my family needs your pixie dust!!

Not me, them, all of them are just about thisclose from me losing it and they should be hoping they get back in my good graces shortly.
I know part of it is I am not sleeping and stressed but I get so tired of the same arguments over and over that I give up. :guilty:
Sorry for the rant.

We always want our kids to do their best. Here's some pixie dust in hopes that he will continue to do well. :wizard: :wizard: I know I sit there at Austin and Alex's games and ever time they come up to the plate to bat I always say a little prayer that they do well and not strike out. Of course that doesn't always work but I am always proud of them. I hope the rest of the season goes great.

Lynn -- I'm the same way. Andrew always looks over at me dejected if he strikes out, like he's failed me. I just give him the thumbs up and tell him he can't hang his head if he hustled and tried his best.

Another of the things we did this year was year round pitching/hitting lessons. Andrew really wanted to do that so we made the commitment in time and money to take him each week that we could fit in a lesson.

I'm just so proud of him for the progress he has made. I'm terrified that the games this week will set him back if he plays poorly against these great teams.

That's why I asked for the extra PD for him for this week. Thank you so much, my friends!

Is it because of airfare difference from DL compared to DW?? I thought the same thing thinking it would be really expensive from Atl to CA compared to Atl to FL. But.............I priced roundtrip on Airtran and the DL flight was only about $75 more than the DW flight.
